Out of the choices the F/A - (Fighter/Attack) 18 would be the broadest sim experience they could offer. However, I would prefer an Apache sim next, especially with JTAC getting implemented. I'd be happy with anything really, I'm lucky that I don't and never really have had a favorite fighter plane/helicopter. Kinda like them all for different reasons.

I would want to see late cold war fighters and bombers and scenarios to match. The US will never have an opponent that is as interesting as back in the day. Probably for another simulation company... But if I had a couple of million us dollars to spend. I would do so on a late cold war simulator. Missiles was worse... Avionics was worse... Better multiplayer :D

A sim where u could shift crew position, to be gunner, pilot and so on. The Boeing/Sikorsky RAH-66 Comanche Is a real cool toy to.

You could manually aim the norden bomb sight, take ANY position there was in the plane and manage your crew members(assingin tasks like putting out fires and help wounded crew members), in that sim you could also fly escort fighters and the 109, 190 and 262. It was my first flight simulator:thumbup: I can even remember my first kill, I was the tail gunner and fired a long burst towards incoming fighters, one of them, a 109 went down burning:smilewink: A great game, I think I still have it somewhere. But back on topic, I would have loved to see a Mig-21 sim.

There was an even older B17 game (I had it on amiga, probably PC and ST too?) that was a bit better I thought. I dont remember that you could fly the fighters on the old one. It was pretty cool to put your plane into a dive to try and put a fire out and then limp home with only 2 or 3 engines :) Anyway... Ill back down from the Harrier vote, instead ill give my vote to Tornado. Not least because the old Tornado game really needs some remake love!! My first experiance of toss bombing and runway denial action. I think DCS would benefit from a strike aircraft. Too many times in A10 so far and BS I feel the need to go off hunting SAM sites and high importance targets that arent really what i'm on the battlefield for. Terrain following deep into enemy territory to wipe out the other sides runways to gain air superiority for your sharks and/or hogs? :)
martinistripes Posted November 2, 2010 Posted November 2, 2010 My hope is that ED will want to keep the sides balanced between western and eastern, and likewise for fixed-wing and helicopters. If that is the case, logic would suggest we see either a eastern fixed-wing or western helicopter. Eastern fixed wing, I'm not sure but perhaps something that wasn't in the FC2 line-up would be interesting. If it's a western chopper then it really has to be the Apache or a twin-engined AH-1 variant. Perhaps one of these will provide a nice head-to-head experience against the Shark. To be honest, I hope they won't choose the Longbow. It's too far ahead and, along with the A-10C, will leave the Shark out on a limb. Imagine beeing the one sitting in that Sam launcher room and jut to be about to pop a Harrier comming close whan a A10 a**-Rap***s u from behind. Would even be cool to be able tp play AA foot soldier and pop that bastard who was about to cluser bomb u.. i know, if all this is implemented i bet we have a lag fest :D
