"Julie" The Levellers.

One of the saddest songs I ever heard. This is 'reality' for many, and it is an absolute, unmitigated and inexcusable disgrace.

Julie was a lonely girl

She said she was born that way

She always felt that way

She left home at age sixteen

Got a job what you're supposed to do

That's what you've got to do

She fell in love and settled down

In a council place there on the edge of town

She'd feel alone in a crowded room

Cry when she heard a happy tune

It would be nice to holiday

So they took her job away

They just took her life away

Doing nothing isn't fun

When you've nothing from which to run

You've nowhere left to run

She'd visit the social every day

Every time be turned away

Every time be turned away

She'd feel alone in a crowded room

Cry when she heard a happy tune

A hundred stairs to her new room

Over glass and blackened spoons

Children grow old so soon

Past the kids who gather there

Pain masked by narcotic stares

But no one really cares

Her dreams were cut up and bled dry

A million voices in her cry

Julie waits, her world is her window

And Julie hates, she hates the world below

And Julie hates, just what she doesn't know

But Julie loves,

She loves too much to know

"Talkin' bout a Revolution"

Tracy Chapman

:)

Don’t you know

They’re talkin’ bout a revolution

It sounds like a whisper

Don’t you know

They’re talkin’ about a revolution

It sounds like a whisper

While they’re standing in the welfare lines

Crying at the doorsteps of those armies of salvation

Wasting time in the unemployment lines

Sitting around waiting for a promotion

Don’t you know

They’re talkin’ bout a revolution

It sounds like a whisper

Poor people gonna rise up

And get their share

Poor people gonna rise up

And take what’s theirs

Don’t you know

You better run, run, run, run, run,

run, run, run, run, run, run, run

Oh I said you better

Run, run, run, run, run, run, run,

run, run, run, run, run

Finally the tables are starting to turn

Talkin’ bout a revolution

Finally the tables are starting to turn

Talkin’ bout a revolution

Talkin’ bout a revolution

While they`re standing in the welfare lines

Crying at the doorsteps of those armies of salvation

Wasting time in the unemployment lines

Sitting around waiting for a promotion

Don’t you know

They’re talkin’ bout a revolution

It sounds like a whisper

Finally the tables are starting to turn

Talkin’ bout a revolution

Finally the tables are starting to turn

Talkin’ bout a revolution

For the Tull fan in the hoose-AKA "audience", you are not alone.

"Skating away"

Meanwhile back in the year One

when you belonged to no-one

You didn't stand a chance son,

if your pants were undone.

Cause you were bred for humanity

and sold to society

One day you'll wake up

In the Present Day ---

A million generations removed from expectations

Of being who you really want to be.

Skating away ---

Skating away ---

Skating away

On the thin ice of the New Day.

So as you push off from the shore,

Won't you turn your head once more ,

and make your peace with everyone?

For those who choose to stay,

Will live just one more day ---

To do the things they should have done.

And as you cross the wilderness,

spinning in your emptiness:

You feel you have to pray.

Looking for a sign

That the Universal Mind

Has written you into the Passion Play.

Skating away on the thin ice of the New Day.

And as you cross the circle line,

the ice-wall creaks behind ---

You're a rabbit on the run.

And the silver splinters fly

in the corner of your eye ---

Shining in the setting sun.

Well, do you ever get the feeling

that the story's

Too damn real

and in the present tense?

Or that everybody's on the stage,

and it seems like

You're the only person sitting in the audience?

Since we're doing lyrics.

Billy Corgan is one of the best lyricists.

Thirty-Three

Speak to me in a language I can hear

Humor me before I have to go

Deep in thought I forgive everyone

As the cluttered streets greet me once again

I know I can't be late, supper's waiting on the table

Tomorrow's just an excuse away

So I pull my collar up and face the cold, on my own

The earth laughs beneath my heavy feet

At the blasphemy in my old jangly walk

Steeple guide me to my heart and home

The sun is out and up and down again

I know I'll make it, love can last forever

Graceful swans of never topple to the earth

And you can make it last, forever you

You can make it last, forever you

And for a moment I lose myself

Wrapped up in the pleasures of the world

I've journeyed here and there and back again

But in the same old haunts I still find my friends

Mysteries not ready to reveal

Sympathies I'm ready to return

I'll make the effort, love can last forever

Graceful swans of never topple to the earth

Tomorrow's just an excuse

And you can make it last, forever you

You can make it last, forever you

To Sheila

Twilight fades

Through blistered avalon

The sky's cruel torch

On aching autobahn

Into the uncertain divine

We scream into the last divide

You make me real

You make me real

Strong as i feel

You make me real

Sheila rides on crashing nightingale

Intake eyes leave passing vapor trails

With blushing brilliance alive

Because it's time to arrive

You make me real

You make me real

Strong as i feel

You make me real

Lately I just can't seem to believe

Discard my friends to change the scenery

It meant the world to hold a bruising faith

But now it's just a matter of grace

A summer storm graces all of me

Highway warm sing silent poetry

I could bring you the light

And take you home into the night

You make me real

Lately I just can't seem to believe

You make me real

Discard my friends to change the scenery

Strong as i feel

It meant the world to hold a bruising faith

You make me real

But now it's just a matter of grace

There's also Ava Adore, Mayonaise, Disarm etc...

The Cure is no slouch either. :)

Anyone in here who like fusion, jazz rock or anything in that direction?.

Thought id ask first since its kind of more for those who likes soloist / instrumental stuff.

Sample below with Spyro Gyra

Check jamming at pos 32min 00s onwards with Scott Ambush's bass solo and also the drummer's solo part later on is just amazing.

Wow! Yeah isn't that a typcal bass player:D You probably just like it cause of her;). No, seriously wasn't too bad. But probably a little out of bounds for me these days. Thought i could hear some Miles Davis stuff in there too. Old Weather guy Wayne of course :) Lets try something very different now but first:

1. Grab a cold beer

2. Sit down in front of you powerful hifi

3. Turn up the bass, treble and volume

4. Play this tune by this amazing thai guy and listen to the whole tune.

6. Hopefully get a memorable time

and probably the best cover ever..

The only way to make sense out of change is to plunge into it, move with it, and join the dance.
