Question. the fence seems to be invisible till you get fairly close, then you see it no problem,but as you look further away, like viewing down the fence it starts to disappear. Is this a setting I don't have right or a small bug? Nice mod.:)

What videocard do you have?

 

If you own an nVidia card, you'd have to enable "Transparency AA" in your display settings, or if you own an ATi card you have to enable "Adaptive AA"

Ok, here is a pick of my problem. I have nvidia, and supersampling on.

 

Oh, and your fence bends in the right direction. At least here in Canada.LOL.

oK HERE ARE THE SETTING:

 

AF=8x

AA gama correction = on

AA= override

AA setting =16xq

AA transparency = supersample

Pre-render= 3

Tex filtier = off

Tex quality = quality

Thread opt. = off

Triple buff = off

Vertical sync = force off

 

Card is nvidia geforce 9600 GT oc(from factory)

New system with intel i7-930, 6gb wd ddr3 ram sound card is Xonar ds 7.1.

And here are the settings on my Radeon in ATI Tray Tools:

try to match your settings as close to mine as possible and see what happens.

 

edit: can anyone else with a GeForce card please help me out here? :)

It could be the texture filter.... Try Box as mustang has it.

Shaggy, nice to here from you:). What would be the some as Box for the nvidia cards? Got your Eurofighter skins up on lockonfiles for the VEAO skins you did, Nice job on the skins. Hope everyone enjoys them. Also have the VEAO fc1.12 version uploaded. So far I don't think anyone has had any issues, knock on wood. Hope it stays that way. Going to do one more update, I think, some new textures and if no problems, I hope to have my new Cd box version of Fc2 arriving shortly. cheers and thanks again for those great skins.:thumbup:

i've managed to figure out which file handles the gate textures inside and around the airbases, heres a little before and after:

Nice one again Mustang... I will update to latest version tonight :)

 

If you check back further in this thread, you will see a pic of mine with the new .bmp. Could you please let me know if you have the same and if not, if you have a nvidia card, could you let me know your settings. Would appreciate the help.:)

Argh, i hit a problem with those latest gate textures :doh:

 

I don't know if you guys saw it in the previous screenshots, but i've just found to my horror that the gates and supports for the guard towers share the same damn texture! (don't laugh TOO much)

so now, i've been forced to remake the gates without the chainlinks, the result is this:

the flipside of this i suppose is that at least the guardtowers get new supports, and the gates looks a little better than they did before.

 

I do have to say though, that guard tower is one ugly mess, no matter how hard i try i cannot make the textures around the cabin stop flickering and going seethrough, same goes for the rooftop (noticed i've also changed the wooden sidewall textures in the 2 screenshots, more testing)

Yes, that must be a bug. I have had it since I loaded this sim. on. I don't know if version1.02 had it or not but FC sure has. Luck you don't see them much.:D

 

Looking good. Now if I can just figure out why it fades away in the distance on me, I will have it knocked.:D Cheers Good Luck and standing by for version 7:):thumbup:

hmm dont get me wrong bit i think the Gates and Guardtower looks better with the Chainlinks, the Gate looks like everybody can run through it without the Chainlinks:lol:, great work anyway

 

the gates has huge gaps in them beforehand :D

 

i still think my textures look better than these stock ones ;)

i just really really wished that ED didn't make it so the textures were shared with other objects, oh well :)

Maybe a new wooden support and gates would look good ? If wooden gates don't look too funny

Personally if you put the chain link texture on the gate, don't worry about the tower as you don't see them much anyway so what the heck what it looks like. Fence is the better of two evils. IMHO.:thumbup:. Nice work.:)

The problem is, you DO see them quite a bit, especially in DCS Black Shark they're often a feature around the FARPs (and also in FC2.0 since it's merged with DCS)
