Just found these.

http://www.aliexpress.com/store/600281/200611626-343757956/5-inch-digital-lcd.html

Saw that a bunch of the cockpit builders at another website were using these

They also have a 5.6 and a 5.7 etc. only drawback is you gotta supply the PSU block to make it work. I was thinking to buy a little black project box to mount the guts inside of and then secure the MFD to that. For about $160.00 I can get 2 MFD screens. Have to buy a couple of power supplies and VGA to DVI adapters from radio shack to make it all work but the total cost would be less than $200

Intel I7-3930K, Asrock EXTREME9, EVGA TITAN, Mushkin Chronos SSD, 16GB G.SKILL Ripjaws Z series 2133, TM Warthog and MFD's, Saitek Proflight Combat pedals, TrackIR 5 + TrackClip PRO, Windows 7 x64, 3-Asus VS2248H-P monitors, Thermaltake Level 10 GT, Obutto cockpit

Will it be be large enough? I'm using a 7" (though not square) and still have "dead space" of about half an inch. This could be good for the RWR.

so can you export the MFCD displays to separate TFT lcd? I have not seen any one do it in A-10C

You can... but it's not working as it should yet. One negative thing about TM Cougar MFD's is that they have rounded inside edge, where as A-10C in game and almost sharp corner... it makes the TM Cougar MFD cover those corners

No longer active in DCS...

Guys if you want cheap screenies you should go to asian bulk sites. They have cheap stuff and they have lots of it :) These sites function as a gateway between mainly chinese manufacturers and the rest of the world. You can find everything on it.

For 100 bucks you get 7 or 8 inch USB screenies. Touch or not touch, whatever you want even 3D if you want, with integrated tv tuner, if you can think it up they will have it, you only have to search a bit and try to stick with suppliers that have some status (like a gold label)

I used those screens with great results. They dont fit completely inside the MFD Thrumaster but it doesn't matter, the image doesn't get really distorsioned and im really happy with the results:

I use a single (second) monitor with 4 MFD bezels arranged in a "V" .. works well. The monitor is a 20" widescreen. I used a sheet of acrylic the same thickness as the monitor bezel, so at least the top/outside edges of the MFD edges aren't taking up onscreen space (alternatively you could remove the LCD bezel). There's about 7 inches of space between the top two MFDs.

that is why i bought 8" screen....

so you are saying that my screen will work fine like yours?

thanks

i just measured my Mimo touch and diagonally its just under 7inches height of screen is 3 3/4 inches

If you open up the config/MonitorSetup/RMFCD+Camera+LMFCD.lua file with a text editor, it's really pretty straightforward. It simply defines screen areas for each part of the view.

The default file splits your display into thirds, and displays the main view between the two MFCD screens ... I just replaced the "screen.width / 3" (and similar math) with specific numbers (screen coordinates) that match my setup.

I believe this thread probably explains it better than I possibly could ....

I've been researching this very Photo-frame / USB Monitor and found that there are quite a few comments on the net that this does not work with a 64 bit system. With that in mind I went into PC World and asked them to try one on a 64 bit Windows 7 machine. Sure enough it was not recognised by the OS and also while reading the manual it said that you could only use one of these at a time?? Enough to put me off this, which is a shame as they are reasonabley priced at £80.

then i will have to give it to my wife....(as a present to her birthday:music_whistling:)

pity.

can you tell me which monitor would be right for this job?

The samsung u70 is small for the MFD as you know.

I tryed this one and also the 8" is bit small for the Cougar MFDs.

I tryed my wife's 10" foto frame and it is all right.

But which model do i have to buy?

thanks in advance

To be honest I have given up looking for USB monitors for the moment and I'm using my 3 Screen set up like this.

Where I've velcroed the MFDs to the bottom corners of my two monitors.

More details in this thread. :D

could a person somehow do picture in picture on those side monitors so that the lua export for MFD is preserved but you still have the two side monitors offering the side cockpit views from triple head2go?

seems sad to lose all that real estate...
