Everything was working fine. I was doing my start up training mission and everything seemed cool. I had to quit the game to go do something. Now when I return and reload the start up training tutorial, I can get to the part where it asks me to press the spacebar to continue, but pressing the spacebar doesn't have any effect. No clue what could be going wrong. ANy advice? Thanks...

Thank you, I downloaded the updated training mission file. But now I'm not sure how to replace the OLD training mission with this newer file. You see, I'm looking for an old "TrainingMissions.rar" under program files, but all the training files appear to be .miz format.

One other possible solution - assuming that it's not the training file that is causing the problem - it has occured to me that I have mapped the spacebar to the pause function, so perhaps that's why when I'm prompted in the training tutorial mission to press the spacebar to continue, and I do so, nothing happens. There are tons of commands under the controls menu under options, is there a specific command that I should map the spacebar to, which might allow me to do my training? Thanks!

Umm, you have to extract the *.rar file (=compressed file to keep filesize smaller) and then replace the old files with the new ones. Extract with winrar, 7zip, etc.

Thanks again. Extracted and replaced the files. Still nothing happens when I'm prompted to press the spacebar to continue and I do so. So I'm dead in the water as far as training goes. I'm wondering if I need to reinstall the entire program. It was working earlier today, I don't know what happened.

Just tried the 32 bit version also. Same exact problem. I load the training mission, it prompts me to press the spacebar to continue. I press it, but nothing happens. Am going to uninstall and reinstall. How do I check for updates? I don't even know if this is the most recent version available. It should either automatically check for updates upon running the program, or there should be a button labeled as such when the program begins, seriously.

Ok guys, I was able to reinstall everything and get that one issue solved. But now there's a new problem, when doing the start up tutorial training mission, I canot actuate the throttle, either by clicking and dragging foward with the mouse, or by using the throttle on my joystick. I know my joystick's fine because when I load instant action missions, the throttle on my joystick functions just fine. I do not understand why during the start up tutorial it doesnt work. The only thing I can do in the start up tutorial is use the alt and home keys. Any ideas? thanks...

That's the way it is meant to be, nothing wrong with it. You could get a Thrusmaster Warthog HOTAS which features throttles that have to be lifted from the off to the idle position to start the engines.

DCS: T-90 / M1A2 / Leopard 2A6

just for my personal interest, will DCS stick on airplane simulations or will we see some day a ground combat modul too? some kind of Steel Beast Pro in a DCS enviroment?

Don't know about further development - but ....

I found this in the German Lockon forum: http://www.lockonforum.de/thread.php?postid=64331

It says that when you place a UAZ near your Warthog and eject you can run to the UAZ and enter it via the space key.

Than you can control the Jeep with the arrow keys and shift with y and x.

If you have enough of driving a jeep you can place this file: http://www.lockonforum.de/attachment.php?attachmentid=4080

db_units_cars.lua.

in the \Scripts\Database folder.

This allows you to jump in any mobile ground unit you place at the map - just make sure they are not static objects .

It works also in multiplayer (when you are the host) and the AI will fire your guns of your tank if you near an enemy.

doubt it.

I'm pretty sure that EagleDynamics will release at a given time developer tools to

give the units proper cockpits and physic by Third party developers - and release it as payware.

This would fit excellent in the further development of TheBattleSimulator

Thats just my thoughts.

Reminder: Fighter pilots make movies. Bomber pilots make... HISTORY! :D | Also to be remembered: FRENCH TANKS HAVE ONE GEAR FORWARD AND FIVE BACKWARD :D

I´ve hope in any future ED will coop with sSimgames to introduce all type of vehicles armored with all the details of the interiors, sights, ballistics, perforations of shield etc.

In DCS I fly jets with thousands of pounds of thrust...

In real life I fly a humble Cessna Hawx XP II with 210 HP :D

Have you replaced the relevant files as above? By default only the UAZ is driveable without the files being overwritten.

hello Viper, can you tell me something about my initial question too? my thread got now merged in this thread now,. no idea why.

my initial question was is ED will stick only to Airvehicle Simulations / Modul's or will we see in the future some Groundcombat modules (e.g. DCS: Leopard 2A6) too?

put em in the missions folder, you can create an folder for them whit-in the missions folder in warthogs install folder.

Then you can find these missions in the games mission menu. Actually you can browse any drives and folders whit the mission meni in game so it does not mater where the mission files are as long as you know where they are :D

C/program files/Eagle Dynamics/DCS A-10C Beta/Missions...

Okay, me again, the dummy, I tried this and still nothing. Wheni I open the mission files, nothing shows up. Should any of these files have to be renamed? I have nothing called a .miz file. Example the Wakeupcall mission has two files, one called options and another called mission.

The file itself is named .miz. It's actually just a ZIP archive file renamed as ".miz". It contains some files as you've noticed, but there's no reason for you to open it up.

Place the .miz file somewhere, under the "Missions" folder in your DCS install directory is the most logical place, and then in the game select Missions (or is it Single Missions?) from the menu, and select the mission that way.

Honestly would have absolutely no idea. I am not privvy to ED's internal workings/planning at all and accordingly do not know of their future development plans.

It's is more specifically the "cannon trigger" you are looking for, try the trigger on your HOTAS
