Steel Jaw Posted September 22, 2010 Posted September 22, 2010 Yeah DX11 is still a wee bit away IMHO. No good reason to try and force it yet. "You see, IronHand is my thing" My specs: W10 Pro, I5/11600K o/c to 4800 @1.32v, 64 GB 3200 XML RAM, Red Dragon 7800XT/16GB.
nellen_mellen Posted September 23, 2010 Posted September 23, 2010 Really great job, GA. Your choices of sounds, your edits, and camera angles really shined in this. Loved your opening titles.
july865 Posted September 23, 2010 Posted September 23, 2010 a question or 2 about the trailer; at about 2:36 or so, it looks like what appears to be rope tied to something. right where the front corner of the canopy and the fuselage meet up with the front IP. both side of the cockpit no less... does anyone know what that is and its function? . the video is a genius piece of work. . i firmly believe that DCS has the ability to become the best war sim of all time. IMO all the pieces are in place (sorta). ground attack support, fast movers for air support, for both opfor and blue. now, to tie it all together. i was a strong proponent for a dynamic ground campaign engine. well who needs that now if this can all come together and have human interaction as red side/blue side. both will have capable air fighter, and both will have great ground pounders as well. (i'll lighten up on the picketing of the campaign engine. promise) what are you-all waiting for. give the sim world the "coupe-des-gras' these highly detailed a/c will dominate the a/c sim world. revalence Posted September 23, 2010 Posted September 23, 2010 I love the video! It gives me all in the world to wait for DCS A-10C. The only problem is when I download it, it goes extremely slow. I have a Core i7 870 processor, and my network is 100 megabytes per second. Is there something slow with the website? Just a question. Thanks.
Laud Posted September 23, 2010 Posted September 23, 2010 Wow GA, you're getting better with each and every vid you make. Can't stop watching it. And TY for the credits! We're proud to host your work! baton_bb Posted September 23, 2010 Posted September 23, 2010 Although the team has been working hard on DX11 support, there is still a long way to go and it will not be ready in time for A-10C unfortunately. Work continues though and we hope to have it in the next DCS aircraft. As can be seen though, even DX9c looks pretty darn good. This has always been up in the air, and not listed on the A-10C web page for this reason. Hello! But in this case, what about 64-bit version of DCS A-10C Warthog? You`re stiil to issue 64-bit version? Thanks for reply. Best Regards!
coolts Posted September 23, 2010 Posted September 23, 2010 Awesome GA. This vid is now my morning "before i leave for work" pick-me-up. The pacing and music are spot on. The calm before and after the storm show your skills here are improvong all the time. Simply superb. The vid is now on a fileserver at my work, (hope thats okay?) and i am spreading the word. I even had a few console button mashers asking me about it, so, therefore IMO, i believe the content is spot on. (reel 'em in!). I wouldn't want a movie showing dial twiddling anyway, thats what the tutorials are for. Different critera, period. Now, more please! This has always been up in the air, and not listed on the A-10C web page for this reason. It's ok, dx9 screenshots look very good and anyway this technology can be sqeezed a lot more for speed, effects, etc. But let me tell you going backwards to things said is normal policy in ED. Generating hype is good for business, delivering is even better for business. From the outisder, at least me, looks like ED/TFC needs some audit in organization processes or something like that. Not wanting to be rude!, just take my opinion as a customer. GGTharos Posted September 23, 2010 Posted September 23, 2010 This is why ED normally doesn't like to announce features before they're in. DX11 ended up being too time-consuming to add within the desired time-frame for the production of the A-10C. That's all. It wasn't just hype, they intended to make it happen. 1 [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC] Reminder: SAM = Speed Bump :D I used to play flight sims like you, but then I took a slammer to the knee - Yoda

Drop a JDAM, Split-S and beat the JDAM down, give it about ten or so seconds to impact and then slowly saunter past the Shark, taking special care to wave seconds before impact while he frantically struggles about lining up a cannon/vikhr firing solution in an attempt to teach the Hog-driver a lesson in humility :D 1 Novice or Veteran looking for an alternative MP career? MackTheKnight Posted September 23, 2010 Posted September 23, 2010 re DX11 - I'm kinda breathing a sigh of relief that you guys made the decision to drop it for A10C. I really wondered how you'd make a 2010 release and still make such a large change to the graphics engine. As others have said - great decision on your part, ED. :) And as a plus side I don't have to spend $200-$400 bucks on a DX 11 card this year.... -Mack
