War in Korea?

South koreans are no saints indeed. Worse, they prefer to leave the north civilian brethren starve rather than taking millions of poor people sinking their economy. Sk also has t be blamed in cooperating to keep the nk regime alive in order to keep a vibrant economy.

Nort Korea doesn't look fit for battle in a modern battlefield at least if we talk about air to air confrontation. They are going to have a hard time if they want to fight the south Korean slam eagles and posible the American fleet. As far as I know they only have migs-17, 21s and migs-29; who knows if they are up to date.

But if we talk about ground war it is a different story; they have big numbers of soldiers.

What worries me the most is what would be chinas reaction to an actual war in Korea.

And here's one more thing, while most Americans and the West in general support South Korea, most South Koreans have a deep dislike of America because of their support and encouragement of the aforementioned dictatorship.

From my personal experience, Koreans typically have a deep dislike for anyone who is not Korean. Chinese, Japanese, American, African American, they are all disliked by Koreans. Korea and Japan are very nationalistic and racist countries.

I read somewhere that North Korean pilots rely on the "aura of Kim Il-sung" for protection from enemy missiles. Also, judging by pictures I've seen of North Korean troops, they don't carry more than one magazine for their AKs.

I understand that restraint is in order however how much North Korean aggression should South Korea endure? I mean North Korean's military hierarchy seems to have just as more if not more power than "The Dear Leader". The only inevitable solution is regime change by means of military force. Everyone wants to dance around that outcome but it is the only outcome.

 

North Korea has nothing to lose and thus they will continue to push and prod the South to figure out where that "red-line" is. And the South in turn will do nothing because they have a lot more to lose than North Korea. I mean let's be honest here; North Korean's are starving, are oppressed and are being isolated from the rest of the world if "The Dear Leader" really cared about his people he would quit with the assanine chest beating.

Our congress just voted AGAINST paying for unemployment benefits yet we are spending gazillions of dollars sending our military to show li`l Kim our "resolve" ... In my mind, the message is:

"You see li`l Kim, we can starve our unemployed just as you do it in your country!"

 

And BTW, why don't we have Koreans take care of their own problem? Maybe they can ignore bad guys such as li`l Kim, and have good guys talking and resolving their problems.

Bit of hyperbole there imo Falcon: we have been closer to nuclear war before (even if we don't count the end of WW2, since there was only one nuclear power at that time). The Cuba crisis is what comes to mind. Let's remember that the north have a nuclear weapons program and have conducted what appears to be one failed and one possibly successful (though some indicate it was failed too) tests. There is no direct evidence that the north have reached the stage of weaponized warheads yet, and it is similarly unsure if they would have delivery capabilities worth much (they have some fairly nice missiles, but since we haven't seen the warheads yet we don't know if those missiles are capable of delivering).

 

It's worrrying, yes, but not end-of-the-world type worrying like the Cuban missile crisis was.

 

warhead may not contain nuclear , but bad genetic lab viruses and nasty agents.
