Nope. I use tritium night sites. I learned a long time ago that in a pinch you don't want to rely on anything that runs on batteries or relies on seals to operate. Is that yours? You keep it pretty clean. I respect that. Did you get it there or did you have to order from out of country?

It's a good thing that this is Early Access and we've all volunteered to help test and enhance this work in progress... despite the frustrations inherent in the task with even the simplest of software... otherwise people might not understand that this incredibly complex unfinished module is unfinished. /light-hearted sarcasm

That is frickin awesome, hell I will have to try. thanks for the info. I use CLP and always been happy, but if it is used on the gau and increase number of rounds, well I wonder what it can do for us. I only use iron sights. I never was into optics or pointers. hell even my simple sks is nothing but open sights and at 100m punch the x ring consistently.

"While waiting on beta 6" (WWOB6) suggestion #1 - Read a W.E.B. Griffin book and drink Famous Grouse Scotch (which he references hundreds of times throughout his books).

That's a pretty pistol. How do you carry it? I do inner waste band rear with a simple clip pouch. I have other holsters but this $5 Uncle Mikes is more comfortable and functional for me than anything else I've used. I'd probably have to dust off my shoulder holster to carry that 1911 :) .

Thanks for the tip on the TW-25. I see from their website that the Air Force here uses the stuff as well. The 228 and the LaserMax were purchased in the States. Too right about seals, batteries and pointers--which is why I am also the proud owner of a Trijicon Reflex :D.

Btw.. the TW-25 grease they send with their weapons is the same lubricant used on the GAU-8 now. It took the service cycle on the GAU from 10k to 30k rounds! It's a superb white lithium.

To the ED Team:

I know you're busy, but can we please get confirmation that the sim is running the GAU-8 with TW25 grease? It feels like mine is slipping on some Mobil Polyrex EM, and I don't want no NASCAR grease on my GAU if it ain't authentic.

Thank you.

Neat. I've been hoping for some decent publicity on the non-sim centric websites. Sadly the only thing I ever saw was a post on Kotaku showing some press screens of the TM WH flight stick and balking at the price. Not that it matters, that site has gone WAYYYYyyyyy downhill as of late.

The right man in the wrong place makes all the difference in the world.

My favorite quotes from the comments:

"Ditto. I loved how mechwarrior 2 was almost a simulator. I couldn't play any other mechwarrior after that because they were too arcadey." (really, is that a joke?)

"If you get serious and dig in really deep from the start though you could probably master most stuff in a few days.". (ummmm, 'master' might not be the right word)

"Either way, thank god there is still a company that will go all out to make these types of sims. It's a sadly neglected genre on the PC these days. I'd love to see Falcon 5 be made!"

I've been playing OFP and Arma since 2002.

My hope for the future is to mate a game like Arma2 with a HI-FI flight sim/s

Imagine the immersion if you had real ground troops to support in the form of players and flying CAS for them in a DCS warthog.

I cannot see it getting much better within teh confines of software:thumbup:

This is AWESOME!! I just threw away HAWX in the dumpster. DCS A-10C has so much depth and immersion, Advanced Flight Model, accurate phsics, LGB, and, and, and...I used to play HAWX, but since A-10C, I'm healed!

I've read about some AI work that TFC is doing for the government sectors. It's absolutely amazing. I know the graphics will get better, but they can only top out at purely realistic. I think the breakthroughs are going to be in AI and interaction.

I'll also be looking forward to HD contact lenses and the TrackIR Cerebral Cortex Shunt.

Carrying the burden of the past helps him get cured faster... although something tells me that that nick has been invented couple of minutes ago..:smilewink:

Asked if we'd see a beta soon in the next couple days and thread locked immediately and pointed here. So I guess that is a no.

I guess i"ll continue my ARMA II adventure in the meantime.. ugh..
