Hi guys, there's a new developer interview here :).

Jim Mackonochie: Coding has already started on the next aircraft in the DCS series. All I can say is that it will be a USA fixed wing aircraft!

Hmmm, I wonder what aircraft it is. I'm hoping, as many do as well from reading this forum, that it will be a multi-role aircraft :).

The AT-802U could actually be interesting :D

Anyone seen from their military contractor side, if they've developed any new sims for a military?

Anyways, my first thought would be a F-15 or F-16.

Posted

it's the F-15E...just look at the modeling of the current F-15E in DCS A-10C...it's a no brainer.

Not only that, but the USAF probably got wind of the DCS training for A-10C pilots, and requested the same for their Mud Hens

Its either the single seat F-16C Block 40 or the F-15C. There's no way they'll be able to fully simulate the F-15E. There's a number of avionics which are (AFAIK) very top secret.

I'm wishing for a F15E or F18 with carrier ops. Next best thing for me a F16. Looking forward to the announcement :)

Release date later this month? I'm pretty skeptical about that one.

Not only skeptical. How about, "No chance in hades!"

And I guess the new one will be released "9 months" later. And maybe by that time it will be "modular", instead of a series.

Riiiiiiight.

I wonder if they actually believe their own spin.

My predictions:

DCS:WH download final release: late April

DCS:BS update patch: end of 2011 (if we're lucky!)

DCS:?? early 2014 (again, seriously, if we're lucky!)

Additionally, to bring up a particular issue repeatedly after it has already been acknowledged will be considered "trolling" - in such cases a warning will be issued to the author and the post will be removed.

You're right. I apologize. My post did come out kind of rude and condescending. I won't let it happen again.

I stand by my predictions.

I'm actually surprised we got a tidbit of information in that article on the next module, fixed wing, american...that narrows down the list definitely.

Firstly, thanks for the interview and answers Jim & Gordon. Great read

And my money is on the FA-18 Rhino's.

P.S: Slightly bummed out about the lack of DCS: Apache. I guess the incrediablly arcade Apache Air Attack will have to do.
