Chris CDN Posted March 15, 2011 Posted March 15, 2011 I really miss flying the A-10C. I haven't been able to fly since the release product came out. I've troubleshot, formatted my PC, re-installed DCS on a brand new machine with up to date drivers and watched the sim CTD every time I score a kill. (Okay, not every time but probably 1 in 5 kills scores a CTD). I've watched many posts, much like this one be deleted by forum moderators once they got out of hand. I really really REALLY want to love this sim. I just can't until it's stable for me. I've done everything I can except wait for the next patch. ED: You've done almost everything exactly right with the aircraft, the physics, the weapons modeling. Just please focus on making sure we can all enjoy the finished product. We're all here because we like your product and we want you to succeed but please keep us up to date on bug fixes and patches. Thank you for not immediately deleting this post. NSDQ

GGTharos Posted March 15, 2011 Posted March 15, 2011 The next patch is being worked on. A little patience please; the team is hunting them crashes down, that's the highest priority. 1 [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC] Reminder: SAM = Speed Bump :D I used to play flight sims like you, but then I took a slammer to the knee - Yoda
pitbldr Posted March 15, 2011 Posted March 15, 2011 Have you tried any older version of your video drivers? I always keep one or two levels of the old drivers on hand since on more than one occasion, the video driver has been the culprit in some crashes with other games. :)

Mule Posted March 15, 2011 Posted March 15, 2011 I feel your pain Chris. Had some issues myself. I just ended up doing a re format and starting all over again. Got all the latest drivers and spent a Sunday afternoon doing it. I know it's overboard but it worked. Hope it works out for you. Fighter Pilot Podcast.
PlainSight Posted March 15, 2011 Posted March 15, 2011 Is it me, or are nvidia owners in the majority, when it comes to CTD? I bet it's that effects.dll again. [SIGPIC][/SIGPIC]

wtfisgoingon Posted March 15, 2011 Posted March 15, 2011 Always a good idea use some kind of driver cleaner before installing new ones. Most times the install seems to work but you end up with odd issues and problems, most times its because of leftovers from the old drivers. Here is a good one: http://downloads.guru3d.com/downloadget.php?id=1655&file=4&evp=b0e23b57cdae2217c3d377655ad3ce34 i7-920 @3.8Ghz / MSI X58m / 8GB DDR3 / 2 x HD5770 / Asus-vw226h @1920x1200 / 2x OCZ Vertex 2 80GB SSD's / Win 7-64 / TrackIR 5 / Saitek x52 / Razer BlackWidow Mech Keyboard / Razer Deathadder Stuttering or fps problems? sebro83 Posted March 15, 2011 Posted March 15, 2011 @GGTharos: I think ppl playing flight sims like the one we're all talking about do generally not lack patience at all. What Chris seems to ask for (and I would definitely support) is some increase of information concerning planned release dates etc.. Such a "roadmap" could help in keeping customers happy, don't you think?
goon3r Posted March 15, 2011 Posted March 15, 2011 Is there a running list of issues documented that people are waiting on to be addressed or is it just the more issue of CTD's ? I've spent most of my time so far in the flight manual and training missions and its been quiet so far no crashes. I'm hoping by the time I get ready for combat the next patch will be out.
GGTharos Posted March 15, 2011 Posted March 15, 2011 No, I don't think so. All that will happen is that they will treat the roadmap as some sort of promise and get all upset when plans change. Not going to happen. You're getting plenty of information as is. @GGTharos: I think ppl playing flight sims like the one we're all talking about do generally not lack patience at all. Distiler Posted March 15, 2011 Posted March 15, 2011 Just in time We are working on 1.1.0.7 patch for DCS: A-10C Warthog. Will be addressed some crashes, bugs and stability improvements. Sn8ke Posted March 15, 2011 Posted March 15, 2011 (edited) What kind of systems stats do you guys have that are experiencing problems? When Beta 4 was out, I had XP 64 bit with (2) nvidia 9800 GTX 1gb cards. The game was virtually unplayable for me. I then upgraded to windows 7 64, and an evga 580GTX video card with latest drivers. Drastic improvement. Beta 4 ran perfectly for me, and with the release version and patch, I have vsync enabled with an everage of 55-60 fps constant with high settings, never had any ctd (knock on wood). clouds are now visible and amazing. Windows XP has alot of compatibility issues with DCS A-10C. Not DCS's fault, but windows xp is still full of bugs that prevent direct x to be fully optomized. After the patch, my fps with the litening pod are way faster too. Sn8ke Posted March 15, 2011 Posted March 15, 2011 I am kinda worried though. Usually, when people are experiencing stability issues and crashes, a patch is released addressing those issues, then all of the people not experiencing crashes and stability issues now are having problems. Chris CDN Posted March 15, 2011 Author Posted March 15, 2011 (edited) What kind of systems stats do you guys have that are experiencing problems? I hate to admit it, but I bought this machine specifically to play DCS: A-10 on. i7 950 @ 3.06 Ghz (stock) X58 Sabretooth Mobo. GTX 470 6 GB RAM (PC 12800 DDR3) Win 7 64-bit. (I think the i7 technology really gets that 'DCS has stopped responding' message up really quickly, which is nice.) What Chris seems to ask for (and I would definitely support) is some increase of information concerning planned release dates etc.. Pretty close, I think I just would like to know that ED knows that a lot of people are having problems and a solution is in the works. Today was the first day I'd heard of the incoming patch and it's only as a result of this thread. I'm a realist, I know there isn't going to be perfection on the inital release, but a simple. "Thanks for your money, we're working on getting you back in the air soonest" would be nice. Like I said. I love the sim, I just wish I could fly it again. Edited March 15, 2011 by Chris CDN NSDQ

GGTharos Posted March 15, 2011 Posted March 15, 2011 Nice systems :) I'm not sure the i7 technology is what is doing it. There have been a lot of guesses as to where the fault lies, but I don't think any of them have been quite correct. Shootist Posted March 15, 2011 Posted March 15, 2011 Yep. New system here. Old video card. Never had a crash. A bit o stuttering but hopefully the new 560 Twin Frozer OC that's on its way will fix that.
