Hi all

I'm sorry for this question, but it would be great if someone could explain me (just shortly) what exactly are Ground Charts and how do I have to use them in DCS A-10C. Of course, the A-10C is not my first flight simulation, but I have never worked with the GC in any other simulation.

what are they? -- useful :D (kidding).

Those cards provide detailed information according to Taxiways, Parking Positions, Runways Radio Frequencies, ILS Freqs, TACAN Freqs and much more.

How to use? ---

example...if you are playing in SP and you ask for permission to taxi to runway, then the tower will give you a certain Runway to take of from. Now you can use the charts to find your taxiways to the respective Runway, without always go to the map and so on.

Once you return to the Airfield you know on which Runway you can land again

Only some of the use, there´s for sure much more

Status update VAD-Charts:

The basic work is done. Now we're starting the fine-tuning. The initial map template we used was fit together from two 1:100.000 ME-Map screenshots (@1920x1080). As the detail-level turned out to be too low, we decided to re-work them all with 1:50.000 screenshots. Now in 1:50.000 scale you need to merge eight screenshots for each airfield. This work is half done.

So while a lot is already done, we still have some stuff to do. I hope you will find it been worth waiting for once you have the charts on your table.

EDIT: Added a 1:100.000 and a 1:50.000 template of Krymsk, so you can see the differences. (1:50.000 shot is scaled down in quality so it comes from 7.7mb to 1.8mb)

Don't worry, the update mainly focused on smaller issues to be fixed, like new airbase names according to V1.1.0.9.

The previous version remains widely compatible.

Status update:

Currently we're adding the terrain elevation lines. After that we'll add objects like antennas or lighthouses and all the other stuff that is relevant for the pilot due to their elevation above the ground or their useability as visual navigation reference objects. After that the charts will be given to our squadron members for internal testing. After fixing everything that might appear, they'll be ready to go.
