Hey guys,

To complete my setup I need to invest in some good, high quality rudder pedals (preferably not Saitek as a technical issue with their X52 kept causing BSODS for me so I upgraded to a Warthog). Can anyone advise me (preferably with a Warthog). I'm running TIR 5 and the Warthog from a Plugabble 10 port external USB hub and will do the same with the rudder pedals.

Thanks for the advice guys,

thinking of going with the CH pro predals- does anybody have them and a WARTHOG? Good quality? Anybody else have advice?

I'm using a Warthog HOTAS and CH pedal combo, and I have no complaints. I've never used any other pedals, but I've been told the CH pedals are too close. Who knows? But they are quality, and they've served me well for nearly six years now. :)

CH pedals here, with cougar. No compatibility issues. Solid pedals so far.

I have the pro pedals. I must have had them for 7+ years.

The build is good but I dont like the fact that they have so little friction. I find it easy to accidentally apply rudder in some situations.

A few people who have saiteks have tried mine and didn't like how easy they were to move. I have tried the siateks and I like the feel better on them.

If you get the CH stuff it will last though.

I have the Warthog and CH pedals combo and have no problems.

I don't find them too close together but they are easy to move so if you aren't careful you can accidently apply some rudder.

I have both the CH and Saitek Combat pedals. I think the major choice is price. The CH pedals are going for something around $100 at Amazon, last time I looked. The Combat pedals I picked up for around $180.00.

The CH software has a lot going for it as an extra. Over on their BBS, a small program was written to give progressive toe breaks, when there is none in the sim. Some people complain about the width of the pedals, but never found it to be the problem.

The Saiteks's... well they look the part.

You just splashed a serious load of cash on Track IR and the TM Warthog. From the same experience, the best pedals are the cheapest pedals......... preferably cheap second hand from ebay.

My 2 cents:

I've owned CH ProPedals, used the Saitek pedals for a week or so and now own Simped F-16's.

The CH pedals were very narrow and were unfortable to use for a long period of time. They were also very noisy. As well, after a few years the signal from the potentiometers became very erratic, opening up the pedals and cleaning everything out didn't help either. Toward the end of their life I had to set a 50% deadzone on the toe brake axis or hold the pedals back with my feet to keep the brakes from engaging constantly. I think I probably got 5-6 years of use out of them though.

The Saitek pedals I am least familiar with having only used them a handful of times. They were much wider than the CH pedals and the adjustable friction was nice. They also felt more solidly built and were quieter out of the box but my friend complained they became sloppy and started creaking after a year of use.

My Simpeds arrived about a month ago. Having read so many rave reviews I was a little dissapointed with the build quality. There is nothing stopping the toe brakes from flopping over the wrong way for example. I 've used cable ties to keep that from happening but I don't think I should have had to. There also seems to be a fair amount of play between some of the components so they don't feel as solid as I had expected. For the price I was expecting something more but I'm still happy with the purchase and have no doubt they are the best of the three by a long way.

Fish- I've been digging your tutorials, nice job man, rep up!

Cheers dude!!!

.

I also use me CH pedals for Live for speed, with my old ferrari wheel. They got chocks which fix the 'rudder' part, so the toe brakes are the accelerator, and brake. They're great.

I have had my CH pedals for several years and have never had a problem with them. You are one of the few people I have heard that had a problem with them. These are the only pedals I have ever had, so I can only comment on them. Mine are still going strong after 7 years of a lot of abuse :D

I got the saitek pro combat here and so far so good. The software aint stellar but it does the job.

I still have CH pro shelved somewhere they started to spike madly after 3 years, i found them too narrow to be comfortable on extensive period.

I own the saitek combat for now what 5 month. Apart the detent that can be removed, the are adjustable and having an open base for yout feets (nothing keeping your heels nor your toes enclosed is definitely an extra awesome plus, as the pedal angle, and friction adjustment.
