Fish Posted September 14, 2011 Posted September 14, 2011 (edited) Had experience of this in the nevada beta way back. Haven't seen it since. Wondering about the cause. ?? Evil.Bonsai Posted September 14, 2011 Posted September 14, 2011 Do you have 'random errors/failures' button selected in settings? Had a front landing gear collapse on takeoff couple days ago. Also had a right engine fail to start, properly. cycled it off then back on and then it started ok. Was driving me nuts trying to figure out what I did wrong and then remembered I had random failures turned on.
Nate--IRL-- Posted September 14, 2011 Posted September 14, 2011 It is likely a bug, like a tiny flaw in the runway, but we haven't been able to fix it yet. Very random. Nate Ka-50 AutoPilot/stabilisation system description and operation by IvanK- Essential Reading
rud Posted September 14, 2011 Posted September 14, 2011 I made a thread on this too a while ago (http://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=78310), there seem to be a lot of related incidents with gear failure on takeoff. A lot of times it's just a tire bursting but in the one I posted the tire was fine but the nose gear mechanism itself failed.
Evil.Bonsai Posted September 14, 2011 Posted September 14, 2011 Doh! And here I thought it was a failure mode.
Milene Posted September 15, 2011 Posted September 15, 2011 Had this mulitple times. Seems like there is some invisible texture bump on different runways. Annoying Flanker, Flanker 2.0, Flanker 2.5, Lockon, FC1, FC2,FC3, BS1, BS2, A10C, CA and World [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]
GripenNG Posted September 15, 2011 Posted September 15, 2011 I had this problem on Vaziani a lot, and this video showed the incident at Vaz also. Anyone had this problem on any other airfield, or is this a known bug for Vaz only? [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC] Snooze-81st-vFS

Oceansize Posted September 19, 2011 Posted September 19, 2011 This has happened to me quite a few times, usually only after speed got north of 140, but before rolling back on the elevator to takeoff attitude. I assumed it was flight modeling of bumps in the runway and so now when I takeoff I start adding just a touch of back pressure on the elevator so the nose is just shy of floating as speed goes from 135 to 160, then I complete my rollup to takeoff attitude. I haven't lost a nosewheel on takeoff since I started doing this. DCS Millenium Falcon, please. She's got the mother of all pits! P.S. My av should give you an idea of how long I've been simming.

Eddie Posted September 20, 2011 Posted September 20, 2011 Hope ED tracks this Fu***ng bug soon and manage to repair it. When the testers don't see it, it's pretty much impossible to report. If anyone finds a way to replicate it reliably then please post a track on the forums. We know people are having a problem 'somewhere', on 'some' airbases but the problem is finding exactly where it is so the dev team can fix it.
Fish Posted September 21, 2011 Author Posted September 21, 2011 ......................please post a track on the forums.......... Hmm. Track in first post shows exactly where and what parameters. It not a repeatable problem, so its not possible to give a recipe to make it happen. Bugs are sometimes like that. Its actually not a big problem here, as it only happened a small number of times since i started with dcs. JaBoG32_Prinzartus Posted October 11, 2011 Posted October 11, 2011 We had a training and departed from Beslan. What can I say? It was an inferno. Two of our guys had crashed due to landig gear distruction during takeoff. For us, Beslan is a "closed" airport. This airport is rather usesless for serious simming, even if the issue does not occur every time. Windows 10, I7 8700k@5,15GHz, 32GB Ram, GTX1080, HOTAS Warthog, Oculus Rift CV1, Obutto R3volution, Buttkicker [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC] ЯБоГ32_Принз

jotaele Posted December 16, 2011 Posted December 16, 2011 It happened to me 2 weeks ago, fliying 1.1.10, It was somthing like the gear stucked in the ground while triying to rullout, i was at 150 knots+- and tried to pull the stick , but the the plane didnt roll, so i pulled harder then the gear crashed. It was like some kind of phisics failure, the gear was glued to the runway.I didnt think in made a track, next time i will do. Fly and let fly
msalama Posted January 4, 2012 Posted January 4, 2012 (edited) Hmmm... an old thread, I know, but something just occurred to me. What if it's actually the weather that's causing this? Because come to think of it this has only happened to me during bad weather T/Os! So maybe it's just wind gusts and turbulence slamming the plane at the most inappropriate moment, I don't know? Inseckt Posted January 4, 2012 Posted January 4, 2012 I have noted the same correlation myself. And also weight might be acting on the equation... Help Beczl with his DCS MiG-21Bis project by Pre-Ordering DCS MiG-21Bis module NOW! CLICK HERE TO GO TO PRE-ORDER PAGE AT INDIEGOGO
msalama Posted January 6, 2012 Posted January 6, 2012 And also weight might be acting on the equation... It most likely does now that you mention it - and this actually happened to me again at Soganlug yesterday in a gusty / turbulent weather with the plane at max T/O weight. Have to test with an empty plane and good weather next methinks... The DCS Mi-8MTV2. The best aviational BBW experience you could ever dream of.
Fish Posted February 26, 2012 Author Posted February 26, 2012 (edited) Ha, Happened again in 1.1.1.1. Used the opportunity to try a landing without the nose Wheel. Worked out pretty well, once the speed was low enough before dropping the nose. Included the startup (x2 speed), for completeness. Taqke off starts a 6:00 if you want to skip the start up. This is a modified 'in the weeds' mission, which I have practicised many times, with no issues. Failures are off. Nothing unusual about the weather. I did pull up on the stick more dramatically than i usually would at around 160knots. I can post the trk if anyone's interested.
