Can ED tall us if the project continues or is abandonned?

I just notice ED is still fixing current engine but there is absolutely no comment about EDGE.

 

Just to know: will it be released? Is it still under ACTIVE developpement?

but my Mind says...hang on Memphis...remember all the update for DCS World...ED is doing a great job and they love us as hell. They are working every day and every night on their products to make us happy. The Theatre might take a few days/weeks/...decates longer...but it will come one day...:smartass:

As much as I want Nevada, I hope the old map is the most common online, or at least remains common. It's a better map for combat I think (unless Nevada is really big) and probably a bit more realistic.

 

I'm thinking way ahead, but I hope the next EDGE map is Caucasus featuring Ukraine, Russia, Georgia, and Turkey.

That's fine with me too, as long as it's large, features land and sea, and is a location where combat is/was likely.

 

There are a bunch of places that fit that description. I like the current map because I think it fits really well, and I'm assuming it might be easier for ED to work with than someplace completely new.

Remember that Nevada is smack-dab between the military bases and Pacific Fleet in California and incredible desert and mountain terrain in Arizona and Utah. With Red Flag facilities at the very center (and great eye candy on take-off) and huge areas of unpopulated areas between, it's really the perfect setting unless you wish only jungle, arctic or naval battles.

For those of us who haven't had the chance to fly on the Nevada map, could someone tell us a little bit about it; the size, number of airports, amount of towns, and was the Vegas strip on at that point or is it brand new with EDGE?

I wouldn't mind an image of the F10 map if anyone has one.

Agreed. I'm sure that Nevada will be super cool, but it's really suitable only for Red Flag or sightseeing flights. Actual combat operations would feel out of place.

 

Therefore, I hope we will get another EDGE map some day. Either expanded version of the current one, or some completely different, as long as it is a realistic place for both NATO and eastern forces.

The Nevada map is a completely new project from what existed before. So a comparison is meaningless, besides the old Nevada lacked a lot of those details anyway.

Off course, but Russian army being deployed in Nevada is, erm, a little unlikely scenario.

 

On the other hand, you can imagine many believable scenarios going on on the Caucasus map: Russia vs. Georgia, Russia vs. insurgents, USA vs. insurgents, NATO and Russia together against insurgents, etc etc etc.

Because otherwise, USA clearly has Air Superiority, and if by chance, a SU-27 came around, it will be surrounded by 20x F-22 and 10x F-35, plus infinite F-16N / F-18EF

 

PS : F-16N = Tactical nuclear weapon carried on board :) they don't treat with terrorists, beware !

 

And if there are some communist insurgents, soon the state will be flooded by SWAT/FBI/NSA and of course : the Mighty CTU !!

I think what they do is they set up a giant ramp in the Pacific, and then get the carriers going real fast...
