Not sure if this has been mentioned anywhere before, but when looking through the install directory I found several references to DX11 and EDGE in file names:

1) Bazar\Graphics\lma

2) Bazar\shaders\clouds (cldshad.fx for example, at the bottom of the file)

Of course, without uninstalling DCS World you can´t really find out if they came with the global 1.2.1 release or one of the subsequent auto-updates...

They´re dated 17th of September.

How far away can EDGE really be if we already have all this stuff on our PCs right next to the older, non-edge-titled files, I wonder?

There is a LOT more to EDGE, what's in 1.2.1 are more than likely only fragments of code. Keep in mind however the inclusion of EDGE in the future will only work on maps designed for it, the original Georgian map will still use the old engine. So even if EDGE was implemented in to DCS now in it's current state, it would be useless.

Yes, it has been stated several times that Georgia would not benefit from the new engine, but is EDGE limited to the terrain rendering? You could assume that some other aspects of the game might be improved as well when it´s DX11 rendering.

Even if the files are just fragments, the mere fact that they are in there now must be of some significance unless ED is deliberately trolling (rather unlikely). Is it just for showing off little bits again like with the Huey and the F-18?

EDGE is just a terrain engine AFAIK.

Not for showing off or trolling, as fun as it is. :P

Wasn't it described as a 'new drawing/rendering methode'?

Nevada update

Is the Nevada scenery still moving forward? I know this is a hot-topic among the A-10C community. Thanks for any info you may have.

How probable will it be that this EDGE is going to be more demanding/heavier on my system?

As of now it's mostly running fine at almost all MEDIUM with some HIGH.

A bit scared. Wife wouldn't let me buy another HW upgrade!:P

edge is newer and more optimized shaders than teh current DX9 engine that's been used since Flanker

Yeah, I am hopeful that it will run better with our current stuff as it will be more up to date and take advantage of the pluses of our current hardware... least that's what I hope lol...

I to have a little one and they are expensive :)
