Caspet Posted December 18, 2011 Posted December 18, 2011 (edited) Hi all. For mine and I hope others benifit, a poll to help peeps decide which is the best option. I know thier will be many variables and not everyone will agree, but it would be interesting to know. Could you please leave comments if you have time on why you chose your option and the benifits you've seen (if any) http://www.iobit.com/ Advanced SystemCare Free 5 No.1 System Utility with 100M Users Game Booster 3 Speeds Up PC for Fast Gaming Edited December 18, 2011 by Caspet Float like a butterfly, sting like a bee Muhammad Ali-(Cassius Clay) [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]
Kuky Posted December 18, 2011 Posted December 18, 2011 What's best for one person is not best for another... I went with full version of both A-10C and Ka-50 because of less hassle when reinstalling No longer active in DCS...
Dirt Posted December 18, 2011 Posted December 18, 2011 This is hard to answer. I have always did the full install. I found for some reason I had problems with all the patches. But this time I had problems with the full install. Before doing any update, I always make a backup copy of the saved game and main folder. I did the full install and A-10 would launch, but when I selected a mission in just a few seconds the game would crash. So I deleted my install and replaced it with a copy of the backup and used the patch. Games works great, no problems.
HiJack Posted December 18, 2011 Posted December 18, 2011 Full install is best both for BS2 and A-10C. And also remove the old Saved Games folder before installing.
Mustang Posted December 18, 2011 Posted December 18, 2011 Clean install of full version is preferable every time.
joey45 Posted December 18, 2011 Posted December 18, 2011 Always full. The only way to make sense out of change is to plunge into it, move with it, and join the dance. Maxpilot Posted December 18, 2011 Posted December 18, 2011 Usually patched - never problems. [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]
speckfire Posted December 18, 2011 Posted December 18, 2011 I've patched from v 1.1.0.7 with no issues whatsoever. Speed is life !!!
cichlidfan Posted December 18, 2011 Posted December 18, 2011 Considering the developer's response to any problems with a patch is to instruct the user to install the full version; I do not see any point in installing a patch under any circumstances. I only bother to download them out of a sense of completeness. (Got home this morning after a knee op so missed the 1.1.1.1 launch which is why I asked the Q). Thanks ED for this, keep up the good work. Float like a butterfly, sting like a bee Muhammad Ali-(Cassius Clay) [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]

CarneyUK Posted December 18, 2011 Posted December 18, 2011 Patched, no problems except the new 1.1.1.1 removed modifiers. Only took 2 secs to put them back in and all fine. "The sky is not the limit.....it's my playground!!" @paraglidecass
