hopeless Posted January 13, 2012 Posted January 13, 2012 Hello, I know this has been talked about before - there doesn't appear to be a permanent way to have cockpit jiggle on by default. I think it's such a great feature which adds more realism to A-10C. The only problem is I sometimes forget to switch it on. Has anyone managed to figure out how it keep it on? If not can I ask ED if you guys can implement jiggle in the options menu in a future patch. I didn't know whether I should post this here or in the wishlist forum. Many thanks.
Wichid Posted January 14, 2012 Posted January 14, 2012 I agree with this Lyndiman AMD Ryzen 3600 / RTX 2070 Super / 32G Ram / Win10 / TrackIR 5 Pro / Thrustmaster Warthog HOTAS & MFG Crosswind Rudder Pedals
diveplane Posted January 14, 2012 Posted January 14, 2012 i would love to see a hollywood action camera implemented sit back enjoy the action. https://www.youtube.com/user/diveplane11 DCS Audio Modding.
213 Posted January 14, 2012 Posted January 14, 2012 this thread is about the camera jiggle. what are you talking about "hollywood action camera"? good lord, was there another incursion by the call of duty/battlefield kids again? 1
leafer Posted January 14, 2012 Posted January 14, 2012 I think he may have meant ability to easily place or attach camera anywhere and on any object or more than one camera per scene. I'd love to try making a movie if one of these days I can figure out how the hell to use all of their camera modes they have. ED have been taking my money since 1995. :P

Wichid Posted January 14, 2012 Posted January 14, 2012 Save the track and fraps the action from different angles. Then combine the action with your favourite movie making software. spikenet Posted January 14, 2012 Posted January 14, 2012 never used camera jiggle until I saw this thread, now I've tried it I like it.. subtle and does add something. Definitely make it an option to set permanently on please. 1
Frostiken Posted January 14, 2012 Posted January 14, 2012 Christ I forgot this feature even exists. [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]
JJGray Posted January 15, 2012 Posted January 15, 2012 I didn't even know it was there, until today. I tried it, and I like it. It could be nice to move that to the OPTIONS menu. 1
BKLronin Posted January 15, 2012 Posted January 15, 2012 Thats new for me as well. How can it be turned on?:book: [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]
hopeless Posted January 15, 2012 Author Posted January 15, 2012 Lshift+J is the only way at the moment at the start of every mission but having to think of so many other things I tend to forget.
Newt Posted January 21, 2012 Posted January 21, 2012 (edited) The only problem I have with the camera jiggle (in the 1st person cockpit view) is that it is just a constant jiggle and it doesn't reflect the motion of the plane at all. I mean, when just sitting on the runway, it shouldn't be jiggling around. I wish that it would react to the motion of the plane and turbulence. Especially when taking off and landing, if it reflected the bumps on the runway. That would add to the immersion immensely. It should be part of the check box in the options for the camera reacting to the G forces or whatever they call it in the options menu. Mustang Posted January 22, 2012 Posted January 22, 2012 I'd like to see a on/off option too, i'll add this request to the ED devs wishlist thread in the beta forums :) 1
LostOblivion Posted January 22, 2012 Posted January 22, 2012 Are there not camera effects from G-forces in the game already? :) Nice plane on that gun... OS764 P930@4 MBUD3R M6GB G5870 SSDX25 CAntec1200 HTMHW
Rider1 Posted January 22, 2012 Posted January 22, 2012 Just tried it. That wasn't a very comfortable experience. Like my monitor was going bad or something. :) Plus, how would you ever hope to to make those precision gun shots with the pippers jiggling too? :joystick:
hopeless Posted January 22, 2012 Author Posted January 22, 2012 I'd like to see a on/off option too, i'll add this request to the ED devs wishlist thread in the beta forums :) That would be great! Many thanks. I was thinking you guys could expand on the jiggle in the next release or a patch for A-10C: The faster you fly, the more jiggle is added. I'm not sure if it works like this at the moment. It would cool, when you're at the limits of a plane you can hear it and you can almost feel it too.
Newt Posted January 22, 2012 Posted January 22, 2012 (edited) Like I said, it should be there, when the plane would actually be bumping around. If the plane is in nice smooth level flight, it would not bump around much. There are some examples of times in these videos, in which there are times of smooth flight and times of bumpiness. This one is just a good one for A-10's: And this one has a good example of when it should be bumpy at 2:04: Yes, there are "g-force" camera movements, but we're talking about it being a little more bumpy than the game's slight swaying. As for being bumpier the faster you fly, that won't always be the case. You could fly faster and it could still be smooth. Edited January 22, 2012 by Newt Live every week like it's Shark Week. :D
hopeless Posted January 22, 2012 Author Posted January 22, 2012 (edited) cheers for the links but in the first vid if you look at 4:07-4:13 the a-10 pilot is straight and level and there's quite a lot of vibration inside and outside the cockpit. edit: how about adding some extra jiggle when firing the GAU :D Edited January 22, 2012 by hopeless
Newt Posted January 24, 2012 Posted January 24, 2012 (edited) cheers for the links but in the first vid if you look at 4:07-4:13 the a-10 pilot is straight and level and there's quite a lot of vibration inside and outside the cockpit. edit: how about adding some extra jiggle when firing the GAU :D Oh sure, there can still be rough air at times. But it isn't always jittering. In that same video at :50 (I use this one so one doesn't have to wait for it to buffer to get to 5 minutes in lol) on the right side the plane is jittering a little, but on the left side, top and bottom videos, are both mostly smooth. Point is, in my opinion, there should be more "force" effects and vibration, but only when there should be. If this is possible, of course. Also, it probably should be slightly toned down or have the option to have it the way it currently is since the extra motion might make some feel sick. And yes, I agree, there should be some when the GAU is firing. Even the pilot in that video commented on how it felt and vibrated when it was fired. He said "...the aircraft shakes pretty violently, it feels like the aircraft is about to explode the first time it happens to you." And, judging by the camera when they show it happening, it definitely seems powerful. Probably because it is. :D Edit: I post this after I stumbled on it. I know that when I get my hands on whatever the next DCS jet is, I'll be doing some of this: Btw, Lord Vader makes an appearance at 2:23. Darth Vader is French... Who woulda thought...
