I think DCS should expand the portfolio for this WWII game.

While the P51 is a good plane, WWII had many other fantastic aircraft!

> Supermarine Spitfire

> Messerschmitt ME109

> Focke-Wulf Fw 190

The Battle of Britain was one of the greatest aerial combat theatres in history! Not P51 missions where you escort bombers!

I think you should read abit more there were also involved in many Dogfights..where the bombers as you say were not around...

From the wording of the news release, it sounded to me like other 'classics' would follow. I suppose it depends upon the success of the P51 release.

Would someone tell me why, at the beginning of the fight, did the mustangs turn right and not left, and why didn't the 109s climb when they have speed advantage?

ED have been taking my money since 1995. :P

I guess neither ED nor any other Co within the entire software bussines is able to develope at the same time the desires and the dreams of every single buyer/fan/supporter.

P51 is not even on the stores and we already are asking for something else. And besides, taking into a consideration that is ED´s first attempt into old era birds, it shouldn´t be quite clever what you Soverein are demanding

I would pay a lot for a F4U Corsair with Carrier take off and landing !!! :pilotfly:

Yeah, it's kinda strange decison of adding P-51D into a Caucasus map (where it never flew IRL). So IMHO better than adding new WWII aircraft is adding WWII theaters of P-51D activity.

And I really hoped Jim Mack was a Spitfire MkVb or VIII fan...

Obviously the re-enactment did not have the same environment of the actual dogfight but how could the 109 not have a shot on the P51 when it was climbing on his 6?

You explained it already yourself. :P

The illustrations in that series aren't really representative of all the dimensions of those fights. Planes are routinely depicted as much closer to each other than they really were etcetera etcetera. (In what I like to call Pearl Harbor syndrome - if you've seen that movie you were probably as horrified as I was at a director that thought you have to get into Close Trail before you can shoot... :D )

WWII is a classic era for aviation that needs a modern flight sim like this to tackle it again. I'd love to see eagle dyn have two teams with one modelling WWII and one working modern aircraft. Who knows if there is that kind of money in the flight sim market though...regardless, I'm happy that they produced it and will buy it regardless of price based solely on the outstanding products they have already turned out.

I can see that happening if DCS: Stang sold really, really well. Like million units well.
