TurboHog Posted May 5, 2012 Posted May 5, 2012 Your not serious are you...with the great detail of the other Model..you dare question one particular model..and yet it is " FREE " :music_whistling: Misunderstanding... Indeed PeterP, I'm afraid that the Su-25 gives potential customers a wrong idea of what DCS stands for - High detail and high fidelity simulations, as opposed to the Su-25, which has a nice flight model but is not an avionics/workload simulation. ED has already considered this I think. They clearly state that it is free and that it is imported from a non DCS 'game'. Yet we do find posts that insult my dear Toad. That is what 'shocked' Cowboy, me and everyone that agrees with the first post. So because of that ED might want to state more clearly that the Su25 is there to present the DCS World to new players and not the DCS modules (A10/KA50/P51/More to come). Or alternatively, improve the Su25. But I don't think the latter is going to happen. If yes, where is the donate button:)? If not, Thank you anyway, ED, for creating the best Combat Flight Simulator enviroment on the market... 'Frett'

Yurgon Posted May 5, 2012 Posted May 5, 2012 Another ED appreciation thread, count me in! I said a while ago that IMHO ED are giving away their games for a comparatively small amount of money, so we really get a lot of bang for the buck. With the introduction of DCS World and Su-25T for free, I think that remark is more true today than it has ever been.
TurboHog Posted May 5, 2012 Posted May 5, 2012 As " Wags " states I believe it was him...All is Subject to Change..anything is possible.. It's in his signature :) We have seen so many positive developments in the past week. P51, Su-25T, DCS World, DCS Mig-21, V1.1.2.1, changelogs for A10C/KA50 integration. This rather shocked me as well :P. These are good times  'Frett'

jimcarrel Posted May 5, 2012 Posted May 5, 2012 The fact that someone dislikes this, or dislikes that, is not the real disturbing thing. Everyone has likes and dislikes, including me. Nothing wrong with commenting on those. It's the way the comments are posted. The downright hateful tone that is viciously used within the comments can really be a "bummer". I can appreciate the patience that is portrayed by Ed's team in their responses. The problem is if no one can mention the vitriolic language, or the way the comment is "way overboard", then where does accountability come in to play. What in the world does that teach a person? Is anything and everything Okay? What has happened to requiring a little respect and civil decorum. There used to be a heck of a difference between talking to a few friends and talking in a public setting. Win 10 64 bit Intel I-7 7700K 32GB Ram Nvidia Geforce GTX 1060 6gig
ED Team Wags Posted May 6, 2012 ED Team Posted May 6, 2012 Very true. It is often no so much what you say, but how you say it. Hence forum rule 1.10: 1.10. - Product feedback and constructive criticism is encouraged when provided in a mature and courteous manner. However, feedback that is abusive, insulting or condescending is not welcome. Additionally, to bring up a particular issue repeatedly after it has already been acknowledged will be considered "trolling" - in such cases a warning will be issued to the author and the post will be removed. SmokeyTheLung Posted May 6, 2012 Posted May 6, 2012 Here's to a series of sims that have given me a sense of immersion otherwise unimaginable! Cheers! ...and I'm drunk :D System specifications: Computer, joystick, DCS world, Beer
Wichid Posted May 6, 2012 Posted May 6, 2012 If it wasn't for the DCS series I wouldn't be flying flight simulation at all. I think 2012 will be a very exciting year for ED and before we know it we will have a tonne of aircraft and a human JTAC co-ordinating them all. People need to stop asking ED to build new things and instead lobby other developers to get onboard the DCS platform. Lucky Posted May 7, 2012 Posted May 7, 2012 Bottom line is, you can't please everybody, no matter how hard you try. I am very grateful to the Team for what they've created for us and I will support them by purchasing whatever they put out even If I don't fly it. I don't fly BS hardly at all but I did buy BS2 anyway. Right now I'm having a blast with the A-10 and P-51 and am looking forward to the next DCS aircraft and the Nevada map. aaron886 Posted May 7, 2012 Posted May 7, 2012 Which, they are not, in the case of the Su-25T which is free and where a large amount of ungratefulness has been focused. No, if it's part of a package that they paid for (which it is,) then it's a feature and is subject to criticism, whether or not you like it. (Or whether or not ED likes it, but they're too professional to display that publicly.) That's just something a business with paying customers is subject to. ED understands that, or they wouldn't be in the business of improving their simulators. Best to provide your positive opinion and allow those with a negative opinion to have that too.
jp203000 Posted May 7, 2012 Posted May 7, 2012 The problem is all today's DCS aircrafts are outside the mainstream.

Thing is, no-one pays for DCS World. The pricetag of DCS World is zero dollars. What people pay for is the P-51D. You can download and install DCS World, and fly the T-frog in it, without paying a dime - indeed, you don't even need to register on the site to do that. :) [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC] Daniel "EtherealN" Agorander | Даниэль "эфирныйн" Агорандер Intel i7 2600K @ 4.4GHz, ASUS Sabertooth P67, 8GB Corsair Vengeance @ 1600MHz, ASUS GTX 560Ti DirectCU II 1GB, Samsung 830series 512GB SSD, Corsair AX850w, two BENQ screens and TM HOTAS Warthog DCS: A-10C Warthog FAQ | DCS: P-51D FAQ | Remember to read the Forum Rules | | | Life of a Game Tester
jp203000 Posted May 7, 2012 Posted May 7, 2012  And the mainstream is ... ? Only a supersonic , muti-role,modern fighter could be considered as the representative works of DCS series. It is worth 100 dollars:)
PeterP Posted May 7, 2012 Posted May 7, 2012 (edited) @EtherealN I think that is also the problem for most people: Getting a simulator for free without registration or leaving a e-mail? And download a torrent from a Russian company ? You are kidding me! Only a supersonic , muti-role,modern fighter could be considered as the representative works of DCS series. It is worth 100 dollars Oh - glad I'm not mainstream and also ED. and BTW: http://forums.eagle.ru/showpost.php?p=1450339&postcount=10 Do you need a LINK to the road-map ? Edited May 7, 2012 by PeterP

Pikey Posted May 7, 2012 Posted May 7, 2012 These forums have actually livened up so much much recently. I'm waiting for a moderator to detonate after having repeated "DCS World + Su-25T are free". I'm willing to write an Autoit program for any of you wishing to make it a hotkey on your keyboard that replies to these emails automatically, but your are gonna need the use of sunglasses, Prozac and a stiff drink to really get through the day! ___________________________________________________________________________ SIMPLE SCENERY SAVING * SIMPLE GROUP SAVING * SIMPLE STATIC SAVING *

joey45 Posted May 7, 2012 Posted May 7, 2012 ^^ LoL. Macros are cool. The only way to make sense out of change is to plunge into it, move with it, and join the dance.
