Yep, I happen to lose about 50% of my vikhrs to this issue. sometimes, right after launch, I try to give a little aileron/rudder input to keep the target and the missile inside the circle, and this seem to help somehow. Also, the impossibility to engage air targets seems more related to the fact that the shkval doesnt track them, at least for me.

I've been checking for this thoroughly recently during testing and i'm pretty certain this bug is resolved in time for the next version.

I cannot get them to miss and as a consequence cannot replicate.

Same here Nate, Su-25T testing yesterday and all my vikhr shots were perfectly aligning, unlike in 1.1.2.1 where you'd have to raise your nose more to aim the shot.

Can't wait to test it by myself ^^

 

I have other wonder - in LO1, LO2 Shkval snaps to targets automatically - in normal daylight - example 12:00 it will always lock (snap to) target from 15 km... seems to be scripted.

 

In DCS: World this range decreased to about 11-12 km. It is bug or "feature"?

 

Merkurij pod - how is it possible roads, railways ect. seem to be lightened up much more than vehicle?

Well, Shkval range is about 15km for a building, 10km for a Fighter and 6km for a Helicopter so if you are referring to ground units then yeah, it's probably nothing to be concerned over.

IIRC it snaps to building (gate 60 meters) at same distance as to vehicle (gate 10 meters).

 

I just think overall distance of "snap to object" thing has been decreased intentionally or more probably accidentally due to DS:W import process I guess.

I checked it during MP yesterday - I could get the Vihkr to fail quite easily when it shouldn't.

How? With the Shark?

 

I get them to fail if I intentionally put the plane outside launch parameters, but then that's no bug.

How did you manage to induce failure? Closest I seem to have gotten was with the throttle retarded at approx 40% or less at low speed - that seems prone to Vikhr drop. Apart from that I'm out of ideas trying to replicate. All other times are fine when, as said, I'm within launch parameters.

 

Still tinkering......

See the attached track - 1st missile is a deliberate miss - the 2nd is the bug....

 

Try again with your throttle not at Idle and see if you can replicate.

Aha! So I'm not the only one. This has been bugging me since the DCS World release. At least 50% of my Vikhrs drop to the ground. I had no problems in FC2.

 

Fingers crossed it gets fixed!
