kowgli Posted June 22, 2012 Posted June 22, 2012 Hi, Bought the game a couple of days ago and wanted to say I'm a very happy customer. Very good flight model & avionics simulation. Great looking cockpit. Good performance. The only thing I can complain about is ugly looking ground. Which is especially bad in a CAS simulator. Couldn't you partner up with ORBX? ;)
Spitfire2170 Posted June 22, 2012 Posted June 22, 2012 Ground looks fine to me. The mission designer can set (force) the textures to low just to fit his server performance. (HJ)

All the graphic components of the sim would be irrelevant server side. http://104thphoenix.com/

The mission designer can set (force) the textures to low just to fit his server performance. (HJ) Hi, I aleady have it set to high and was only playing training and quick missions so the server settings shouldn't matter. What I wrote was not really a complaint, more a joke. Simply what ORBX did with the outdated FSX engine (which I play A LOT) is simply astonishing. From what I saw I suppose DCS is based on satelite textures. What ORBX is did is craft each sqm of terrain by hand. Placing treas, roads, and dozens other objects by hand to create a extemelly realistic looking 3d environment (where in the dcs the ground mostly 2d with some random objects). All I wanted to say is that if DCS has such graphics (and I believe it's more a limited resources than a technological issue, although the word is FSX/P3D is still the ultimate simutor graphics engine) it would be simply perfect. I am still amazed with the game. The only real problem I'm having right now is how to convince myself that spending 500$ on the Thrustmaster Warthog is something a grown up is allowed to do :) Lukasz Edited June 22, 2012 by kowgli

PeterP Posted June 22, 2012 Posted June 22, 2012 its fantastic for the Ka-50 , but when you low on v-ram/performance and you only fly the A-10C. -you won't really notice from the cockpit and you can dismiss this. Just make a backup before copying and try it - this can't hurt .
LostOblivion Posted June 22, 2012 Posted June 22, 2012 I wonder why ED didn't start with a standalone multiplayer server instead of working towards one. It's a lot easier that way. Nice plane on that gun... OS764 P930@4 MBUD3R M6GB G5870 SSDX25 CAntec1200 HTMHW
