pay attention to ALL the post on the ED forums. we are not going to "tweek" our way out of this. its up to ED to resolve this. be patient. it'll happen.

Its also not fine to say be patient ..... many people have hundreds of pounds/dollars worth of gear to play this sim , and it doesnt work as advertised .....

Be patient might be ok for ED to say if they also say they are addressing the issue .

Im being patient for an answer about this , its just started since CA update .

We just did a few more tests, if we enabled CA slots( Ground Control, JTAC ) but not enforce "war fog" in game options, then all connected players are ok.

if we enforce to enable "war fog" then the clients got disconnected.

Whats war fog please ?

Correct me if I"m wrong but if you don't enforce "fog of war" in the mission options then you are left with map only and my A/C. If you have either of those checked then the ground commanders wouldn't be able to see ground unit, is that right? so while it would work, it wouldn't allow for ground battles.

Ground battles will still take place. The "fog" "clears" when friendly units have direct line of sight with enemy units. If a friendly unit can no longer see the enemy, the "fog" covers them up again.

Makes sense, but if I"m working on a mission I have the option to enforce F10. Within there I have Map Only, My A/C, fog of war, and all. It seems like if I select Map Only or my A/C when I start the mission my ground commands can't see any ground units.

I can choose to uncheck enforcing F-10 and that seems to help. Would that be the overall best solution?

I plan on doing some tests on tuesday night with my wing and want to have a couple variations of the same mission to test.

I confirm , the problem is fog of war, disabling it in MB the connection return stable..

Can you specify what your doing? Are you going under the map options and unselecting Fog of War by selecting My A/C or Map only? Trying to clearify how people are doing it.

I couldn't get in any server. I did a re-install and it now works. Go figure. Hope it stays that way.

I tried my old back up FC2 install from 2010, and no more "connection interrupted". I don't know how, but somehow my new install had gotten corrupted someway?

All i had done to the new (2 weeks old) install was installing/uninstalling 104th.Riptide's payload mod back and forth. And zzz soundpack 3.0, and hires clouds mod was also installed. Uninstalling the mods didn't help.

And the funny thing is, that, that old install that lets me to join servers again, is heavily modded, so i wouldn't blame mods for this.

So now i can join servers again but that annoying "server ping timeout" keeps buggin me. Max 10min at the server and it's over.

Never had this problem before with that same install. I have not changed anything on that install since 2010, and will not now cause i'm afraid the "connection interrupted" bug will be back.

Please ED! hurry finding a fix for this.

You have to build a multiplayer mission in mission builder and in map F10 option you have to select "all". If you select "fog of war", may be you have "connection interrupted" for some of clients.

Just experienced this myself for the first time today. I'm pretty sure it's a server-side issue, and I think we're all just going to have to wait until ED figures out what's up. Spent the better part of 40 minutes tweaking every little thing until a mission switch and someone else inherited the problem.

I have the same problem. Me I my friend are playing on LAN. When we startego to play on BETA everything was just fine but after couple flights that issue have started. Now when I'm host he can play on my server for about 5 to 10 mins and the same thing is when I'm connecting to his server. Also I've opened ports on my router. Another weird thing is that my ping on other games like arma or wot is from 15 to ~60 so it is on DCS servers like going ugly but when I connect friends server its always ~125... I dont get it... Its just so fuc...up...

Guys your methods like fog of war, mp LAN connections etc dont work for me...

Do you mean that you're playing on the internet with the "LAN" setting for your connection speed, or are you actually playing on your home network?

So here's the results of last nights test.

Background:

We have a map that was converted from the old dedicated server. Removed all traces of SLMod on it. It has 8 dumb ranges, tanker support, and 2 live ranges. Live ranges require a watchtower to be destroyed to activate. Map has F10 option to enforce all. All units are unhidden.

Test one:

Had about 9 pilots flying between A-10C/KA-50/P-51 and ground units. Did aerial refueling with no issues. No major issues. Ran for about 2-3 hours like this.

Test two:

After this we activate one of the live ranges. At that point any one who came in got the connection interrupted error. This was repeatable.

Test Three:

Ran modified version of map with no Combine Arms units to allow ground control. Had pilot fly to live range and turn it on. After it was on anyone who connected got the connection interrupted error. This was repeatable.

Test Four:

Fellow pilot suggested that the server the map was running up wasn't capable of handling it. Sent him the file and he ran it on his specced out gaming machine. We all connected and were running fine. Activated live range and I went out. When I connected back in it took about 1-2 minutes and I got the connnection interrupted error.

Conclusion:

So it seems like the AI being turned on seems to cause an issue. If only 1-2 people are on they are able to have the live range activated and it works fine. It seems like adding more pilots starts to create the issue.

Can anyone else test this out to confirm?

Any fix for these ridiculous things?

Reminder: Fighter pilots make movies. Bomber pilots make... HISTORY! :D | Also to be remembered: FRENCH TANKS HAVE ONE GEAR FORWARD AND FIVE BACKWARD :D
