Go onto Youtube and search for "Battlefield Friends" Those series of cartoons pretty much describe my experience with the Battlefield franchise lol.

Warning for the videos, they have a lot of bad language so if the kids are around...

I have 2 complaints about the Battlefield franchise. My biggest complaint is the "Run Around grabasticlly shooting at people with no regard for reality because I'll just respawn" mentality. Americas Army is a better game in that respect because if you got shot.. you were DEAD and had to wait until the next map before you could play again. People play a whole lot more carefully when screwing up means spectating. And there is a whole lot more teamwork/team tactics.

My second complaint is the whole XP / Premium Player business model. "Pay us 20.00 and you can build XP and upgrade your weapons faster" pretty much render skill a moot point. "Hey I don't want to play the game... I just wanna do head shots because I'm trying to unlock my next gun...ONLY CAP FLAGS... we get more points that way... "

Bahhhhhhh BULL-SHEET!

Prolly wont be buying anything from Origin as long as that business model is in place.

I have 2 complaints about this post. :)

Anyone who runs around in Battlefield 3 grabasticlly is a noob, and is pretty easy to shoot. Shooting noobs is fun. It's not a one shot kill game, and you don't have to crouch and walk around back to back with 3 other buddies playing Navy SEALs to do well, at all. The game wasn't designed around that mentality at all. It was designed for people to run into clutch points, and battle for control. All you need is a little accuracy, anticipation of spawns, and have movement nailed down, and I don't see why flanking noobs who lack SA and racking up the kills is such a problem.

Your second complaint doesn't make any sense either. If skill is what you're dying to have in BF3, rank and laser attachments shouldn't be affecting you that badly.

I agree MOH:W wasn't that great. They tried to make a COD killer which probably won't happen for a long time. I wish they would have sold the series to someone else, rather than just abandoning it. MOH 2010 wasn't half bad.

I'm never buying another EA title while their business model is to rip everyone off.

They want you to fork over 100 dolalrs for "BF3 platnum" which DLC just adds a few maps and vehicles. If you want any meaningful content you have to buy MOH or BF4.

Dont expect your game to be playable in 4-5 years either. Due to their DRM once they shut down their servers they brick your game.

When i see shit like $400 dollars for all EA's DLC for The Sims, games like 1943 on my xbox i paid for that i can no longer play, and the shit they're pulling with sim city i refuse to be voluntary ripped off.

I can get more for my money with ED, Blizzard, Boehima, ect.

What made me laugh is:

This "Fishing in Baku" video is shot entirely in-game and is the first glimpse of the human, dramatic, and believable single player campaign in Battlefield 4.

Wait, didn't I just see them falling 20 meters off the ground, with a stone block falling on them ?

And then they also shot the heli... Yea it's really believable :)

Same models, textures, vehicles...

Yea I know how you feel. And I want to add some things that I carried over with my experience with bf3...

First of all EA is really a master creating such videos, but it's only fake. It's all staged and they make it look epic hiding the flaws...

Second, bugs and nerfs. They didn't really fix anything, they said "whatever... let's make some more money with another battlefield instead of fixing stuff...". And the nerfs. The nerfs, people. Were they fair ? Not at all. They just nerfed tons of stuff only because people were whining everywhere, but they really didn't do a good thing, they just don't care they want people to follow them bindly... "oh thanks for the nerf we requested, EA/DICE you're a boss..." (atleast that's what I guess people are thinking, they really DON'T want to open their EYES...).

Third, modding tools. Now I don't want to be mistaken but I remember reading an interview with dice developers somewhere about frostbite 2, where they were stating they could have made a night MISSION in just 1 hour with frostbite 2. Later on, the news: EA/DICE won't release any modding tools because they are even hard for them to utilize. Now, there are two options:

1) they were just lying and the tools weren't so good...

2) (most probable in my opinion)... They didn't release tools so that EA/DICE could sell moooooore DLCs and earn a looooooooot more money with almost no work.

I am REALLY, really, REALLY, done with EA and its jokes. Well, I am really done with FPS games in general. They just try to make MONEY MONEY MONEY and don't care about ANYTHING.

So you can clearly understand why I love developer houses like Eagle Dynamics and Bohemia Interactive.

I fell in love with the Battlefield series from the beginning, after driving my buddy in a jeep, driving towards a cliff and jumping to safety only to watch him plummet to his death.... great stuff :)

One of my favorite things in battlefield since Vietnam was placing C4 on helicopters. I would sneak to the enemy base, throw some explosives on the side, then hide in a bush until a bunch of people got in. But I wouldn't just blow it up then for the easy kills. I would wait until it had flown away, then detonate just as it was fading out of view. People would frequently call me a hacker because they had been flying for a while and didn't realize they were flying a bomb the entire time.

Alternatively, put C4 on your own helicopter for an instant anti-tank cruise missile. Doesn't even count as a team-kill if someone else gets in.

If either just would make a single game that had at least 1/2 of the players BF3 has.

Does it really matter? If there is just one server with people you like to play with, who really needs more? Considering that imo >90% of BF players are fullblown idiots anyway and the main reason I turned away from the series in utter disgust, I don't think those numbers really matter all that much, to be honest.

Same thing goes with BF, find just one server with people you like to play with and my experiences with BF3 were great.

Looks more like BF3.5 to me TBH. The graphics are the same, the guns look the same, everything does. Only difference might be the story and the characters. If nothing is changed in MP I'm definitely not buying.

Apparently they make a lot of changes.

It seems the commander-role from BF2 is coming back. Most likely with artillery and probably with more direct options for helping and guiding players.

You can control ships and flying will apparently be completely redone.

There will also be more options to use and modify weapons and gear.

Yet when a new DCS module is released, using the same map that's pretty much been in use for the past decade, using the same engine, you'll be the first to shell out money, right?

It's a continuation of a series of games. It still holds the same title, Battlefield, so don't be surprised if it's similar. I don't see what's so horrid about all new maps, new weapon models, most likely new game modes, new textures, a mass of unannounced improvements, and development for months to come with DLCs. Is everyone just gonna hold off on the next DCS module until they see EDGE and Nevada? Those poor third party developers.

Wrong. I never buy games when they come out. I wait for the reviews, gameplay videos etc before i decide if I want to buy it.

I'm just saying the video doesn't show anything new. It looks more like an expansion to BF3. We'll just have to wait and see, i guess.

Battlefield vs DCS is not an acceptable comparison ;)

FPS vs SIMULATOR.

First of all, DCS modules are modules ? Ok DCS uses the same engine as of now (but EDGE is already on the work), but do you even know how hard does it get to develop a single damn airplane ? It's not all about cockpit and external model and textures... We love this simulator for the superb accuracy and simulation of systems and flight model. Want to prove me wrong, make a module ok ?

In battlefield they are just using the same scripts, models, etc.. (those skyscrapers for example, don't they remind you of B2K DLC ? :smilewink: and I could continue).

Is everyone just gonna hold off on the next DCS module until they see EDGE and Nevada? Those poor third party developers.

I won't say anything more as it'd get offtopic (it's already offtopic)...
