Lynx - the fastest helicopter in reverse (in its day) and the first to be able to do 360° roll :)

Gazelle can make rolls and loops guys :) Loops are quite hard to achieve, but rolls, not really.

So far I looped every helicopter in DCS and I'll hope to keep it that way. :p

The main difference is the high tail rotor torque when you're on the back during the loop. It easily ends in a loss of control.

Thanks for the details. I think the huey is capable of loopings, because the limits of torque and temperature are not implemented (yet *fingers crossed*). And you already confirmed a stripped version of the gazelle, so its getting even better. :D

Yes I looped the huey without trouble and knew right away that the flight model wasn't realistic. Still better than anything in FSX but needs LOTS of work nonetheless.

Was the Lynx deployed first? Just asking, because there's a well-known story of Mikhael Mil visiting Afghanistan back in the day with a local Hind crew doing a demo for him that included a full 360° roll! Even the man himself said he didn't know the Mi-24 could do that :shocking:

So while I wouldn't call myself a helicopter expert, I have been able to both roll and loop the Gazelle. I'll see if I can either record a video or see if I have one of me actually doing it. I can say that doing it with the Oculus Rift on is super scary.
