=DECOY= Posted October 2, 2015 Posted October 2, 2015 Ok since I don't have my pit here in Germany yet I can't directly help you guys out as I'm a dk2 guy aswell. But with running this on my Alienware laptop I have found only way the game works reliably aka starts up and no crashes is to start it from the dcs.exe in the bin folder where the game is installed. No shortcut would work so don't ask me why but maybe give that a try. will give that a try :) Water cooled i9-9900K | Maximus Code XI MB | RTX3090 | 64GB | HP Reverb G2

joebloggs Posted October 3, 2015 Posted October 3, 2015 have you updated sdk to 0.7 Are you sure you have to update to 0.7? I have seen people using 0.6.0.1 in extended mode who are running it and have the same amount of crashes as the guys using 0.7.
=DECOY= Posted October 3, 2015 Posted October 3, 2015 Are you sure you have to update to 0.7? I have seen people using 0.6.0.1 in extended mode who are running it and have the same amount of crashes as the guys using 0.7. having 0.7 is best for edge, 0.6 causes issues with postionial tracker, trust me your want to. using 0.7 starts the game in the rift and you can see the menu via the rift, its perfect and ment for Edge give it a go, you can always revert back, but im sure you wont ;) Water cooled i9-9900K | Maximus Code XI MB | RTX3090 | 64GB | HP Reverb G2

I have seen people using 0.6.0.1 in extended mode who are running it and have the same amount of crashes as the guys using 0.7. You don't have to load 0.7 if you don't want too. We are running a BETA compiled against runtime .7. If you want to participate constructively in the beta process and provide feedback to the Devs so the software can progress then you need to be on .7. If you think you can get better results with .6 and just want to fly then go ahead. If you do use .6 then don't report bugs about 1.5 as it only confuses the issue. __________________________________________________Win 10 64bit | i7 7700k delid @ 5.1gHz | 32Gb 3466mhz TridentZ memory | Asus ROG Apex motherboard | Asus ROG Strix 1080Ti overclocked Komodosim Cyclic | C-tek anti torque pedals and collective | Warthog stick and throttle | Oculus Rift CV1 | KW-908 Jetseat | Buttkicker with Simshaker for Aviators RiftFlyer VR G-Seat project: http://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?p=2733051#post2733051
Düsentriebdaniel Posted October 3, 2015 Posted October 3, 2015 I have another question! In the versions before 0.7 I could use my Nvidia Settings to setup my culors brightness etc.. (in the rift) but right now I cant setup anything! Any ideas how to do it in 0.7? Thanks again! metalnwood Posted October 3, 2015 Posted October 3, 2015 You might have been able to do that in extended mode which is no longer available. I dont think it is possible anymore.

Has anyone else got the Ka-50 working at all?
metalnwood Posted October 4, 2015 Posted October 4, 2015 Yes Crunchy, I have flown it a few times when I have been able to get in. Like everything else, hit and miss.
Salsam Posted October 4, 2015 Posted October 4, 2015 Getting it to work with HMD seems very random.. Tried out freeflight in UH-1 earlier tonight with an average 59fps (Vsync on), but now it crashed 10times in a row :-/ Would be nice to try it without Vsync and check fps. Anyone figured out if there are any graphics setting that = CTD?
Mt5_Roie Posted October 4, 2015 Posted October 4, 2015 So made an interesting discovery today and hopefully the video of it will show it off....but when I run open beta and am connected to network and it logs me in - I can get a flight in maybe 1 out 15 times...very rare. But if I'm unplugged from the network and try it, I can get about 75% success. I've been able to do A-10C, Su-25t, Huey, and Mi-8 with the instant action. I was actually able to load my training mission and fly different aircraft including the L-39. The bad thing is that every time I quit it crashes...so can't save replay. So I've had to resort to recording what's on the screen. Coder - Oculus Rift Guy - Court Jester

I am on 0.7 runtime and the latest nvidia graphics driver.Last time I looked, there was a special nVidia driver for the Rift. So it might be worth it to check into that for those who are using the latest nVidia driver. Go here... https://developer.oculus.com/downloads/pc/0.7.0.0-beta/Oculus_Runtime_for_Windows/ ...and scroll down to find a link to NVIDIA Driver Version 355.83 or later Keep following the links until you eventually get here... https://developer.nvidia.com/gameworks-vr-driver-support ...Then just choose the appropriate Operating System. So did I miss out on a window of opportunity or something? I've had open beta installed for quite a while now, but I can't seem to get beta 1.5 installed. How is it then that there are a lot of people who have been able to install it? Thanks...

gtrdrt Posted October 5, 2015 Posted October 5, 2015 I tried the nvidia gameworks vr drivers yesterday. They made no difference.ok. But I recall that it did make a difference for me after I installed Oculus Runtime 0.7. I see now that the currently recommended gameworks vr driver has a higher version number (356.04) than the 355.84 version I installed. So when you say you have the latest nVidia driver installed, do you mean the latest gameworks driver, or do you mean the latest driver most people get from the nVidia website? Finally, I also see now that the DCS 1.5 beta is available, so ignore all the stuff I posted about that. Thanks...
Frusheen Posted October 5, 2015 Posted October 5, 2015 I have 356.04. Still has the washed out look and crashes constantly on mission load screen. I manged two flights in about 30 attempts. __________________________________________________Win 10 64bit | i7 7700k delid @ 5.1gHz | 32Gb 3466mhz TridentZ memory | Asus ROG Apex motherboard | Asus ROG Strix 1080Ti overclocked Komodosim Cyclic | C-tek anti torque pedals and collective | Warthog stick and throttle | Oculus Rift CV1 | KW-908 Jetseat | Buttkicker with Simshaker for Aviators RiftFlyer VR G-Seat project: http://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?p=2733051#post2733051

Nvifia are including all VR stuff in their drivers there are no hidden drivers for VR. I saw something about an SDK driver, but you only use the SDK if you are developing software. You don't need SDK installed just run games.
Salsam Posted October 5, 2015 Posted October 5, 2015 @roigat tried going off line and you're right, worked 9 out of 10 times! I hope they make this fix a priority because I only use the Rift with DCS and it's just frustrating I can't use it. I can't even go back to using 1.2 DCS because 0.7 won't work with that. I expected 1.5 to have bugs, but I ddin't think it would be this hit and miss just connecting with the Rift. I'm just hoping there's a patch soon and I can start playing this game again. I find it much better learning the systems sat in the Rift and playing.

I have xplane 10 and purchased all 3rd party helicopters. There's no sign of rift support coming to that platform - I haven't loaded it up since the early days of dk1! Just can't get any enjoyment from using a monitor with a flight sim now. __________________________________________________Win 10 64bit | i7 7700k delid @ 5.1gHz | 32Gb 3466mhz TridentZ memory | Asus ROG Apex motherboard | Asus ROG Strix 1080Ti overclocked Komodosim Cyclic | C-tek anti torque pedals and collective | Warthog stick and throttle | Oculus Rift CV1 | KW-908 Jetseat | Buttkicker with Simshaker for Aviators RiftFlyer VR G-Seat project: http://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?p=2733051#post2733051

I like the idea of again being able to use the latest updates any time nVidia makes them available. No more wondering what I'm missing out on :)
