Arma 3 developers arrested in Greece

Well they give them better points in the Eurovision Song contest than they give the UK and you don't get a more exact measure of political hatred than that.

There was war in ExYu not long ago and we still give each other 12 points:music_whistling:

Not just Greece. A friend of mine was arrested for taking pictures of a demolished building near a police station in London.

They have to meet their arrest targets....:)

The only way to make sense out of change is to plunge into it, move with it, and join the dance.

Turkey is not exactly friendly to Hellas and other Balcan people. S!

I'm talking about people tryings to migrate to europe. Do you have any idea on the size of problem ? Do you know how many people are trying to pass the frontiers everyday ?

I know brother and that's why i respect Hellas. In my opinion you should put minefield on eastern borders:)

Yes Sobek, no in

tation to.

Just trying to inform people why Hellenic authorities are sometimes become sensitive on security matters.

In few words, in the ranks of people trying to enter europe without authorized access, spies, sabots, firestarters etc may also included.

I kind of wonder what will happen to them. More than likely I see them serving some jail time regardless, unless the Czech government can pull some strings.

I hope that it doesn't set back A3 development too much. Maybe they can give them computers in jail so they can keep working :D.

Doesn't really matter about the reasons why the laws are there. What really matters is what happens now that two Czechs are in a Greek prison (or did they get tried yet, I don't know).

Keeps up good relations.

Greece and Cyprus always love each other's music every year, hence 20 points every year.

Thats pretty logical. Cypriots are pure Greeks.

consider them as Italy and san marino germany and Austria etc

By the way you remind me the problem with previous Soviet. Union countries. Eurovision prize couldn't escape from them.

Well, if you are interesting in my opinion, jail not. They are in custody for sure for investigation reasons. Now, Czech Republic and Hellas are both EU members, with complitely harmonized law systems according to EU and International Laws, they are both members of Sengen Pact, so cooperation between them is easy and rapid. I'm pretty sure info is excanged between two countries about their "profile".

If it is proven that they are just some silly persons and nothing more, I Imagine they will pay the bailout sentense and luckily they will now allowed to visit Hellas in future.

But all these are assamptions of mine. I am not Authorities. Yet noone is gonna drink their blood and Talibans are not inhabitting this country :)

That has nothing to do with totalitarianism. There are simply special laws that apply in proximity to military bases, that goes for just about any country.

HaHa! :doh::)

Here is a challenge:

Just pick out a democratic country of your choice and visit it as normal tourist....

...than stroll around near a military complex and take pictures and videos of it.

-Yes! I'm talking of one of these buildings that have these signs at the fence:

no_video_cameras_allowed.jpg

And on top if it - once a security have picked you up - tell them that you are a software developer and tell them that you want to use this material only to rebuild the complex in a computer scenery....

I'm very curious what would happen.

Here is my guess :

You get arrested for further investigations.

And this is no indication that it is a totalitarian country.

Please think next time twice before posting things like this again:

I never realized that Greece was that totalitarian. Bummer--it was pretty high on my list of places I'd like to visit someday.

I don't know where you are living - but my common sense tells me that that even your country has laws that prohibit things like this even for the citizens.

And they won't tell you :"Ah - now we understand! Please come with us and we give you a free tour in our base - we just have to call the commander that he prepares a nice warm welcoming and coffee table for you!"

Back in the day I spent countless hours on patrol inside the fence of the particular military installation I inhabited at the time. Trust me when I tell you that, had you been caught taking pictures, or even getting close enough to attempt to, getting arrested would be the very least of your problems.......Then again, times have probably changed.

Personally cannot believe that they would even contemplate doing what they did.
