Fakum Posted November 26, 2014 Posted November 26, 2014 Thats where Im a bit lost. There are 3 folders within this zip file. I have created a "Generic Mods" sub folder within the DCS World directory: C:\Program Files\Eagle Dynamics\DCS World\Generic Mods This is the location where I have dragged a few MODS into and they show up in the GME interface when I open it up, but they are typically single files. I dont know if I am supposed to extract all 3 of these files in that folder or something else? Devrim Posted November 27, 2014 Author Posted November 27, 2014 Fakum. Probably you need only "DCS World" folder (from mod zip file). Because the main mod files are in it. "Images"... you know, just sample images of mod - not really important. "Stock Files" contains some (backup) DDS files, in case you don't like warning lights mod and windows mod (that comes with cockpit mod). - may not important. Fakum Posted November 27, 2014 Posted November 27, 2014 (edited) Thanks, I have been reading thru the forums all night. No where did I see this mentioned, especially for this MOD. This thread was great: http://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=98607 but it simply tells you to drag what ever you extract to the file you created,,, not the case here it seemed. I did get help on another thread though which got me through it: http://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?p=2241731#post2241731 This is a GREAT MOD,, looks real nice,, next post will be to try to find out how to export these graphics to Capt Zeens Helios Profile? Not sure if thats even manageable, but thats a separate thread,, thanks for the help. MadDog-IC Posted November 27, 2014 Posted November 27, 2014 Black one. Honestly I stopped working on blue one, especially after Ricardo's work. Edit: This mod has been uploaded, probably will be released after moderator check. Thanks for the refresh on the Black shark black pit, unfortunately I myself now like all my russian cockpits in blue. I still will give this new black one a look in, I think yours might offer some more nice features.:dunno: Kind Regards, Ian. Worther_1 Posted December 4, 2014 Posted December 4, 2014 Ricardos HD Cockpit Hi all, I installed this mod (first mod ever installed) on the 25th Nov 2014. It worked great and I renamed relevant folder and made backup of "Cockpit-Ka-50 Textures" as instructed. It worked great and I loved it. Now however, I've just had Steam update DCS World (current version 1.2.12.34915) and the HD Black cockpit no longer appears. Please see screenshot hopefully attached (i'm new to this). The cockpit textures are all yellow, most of the dials/gauges are missing and there seems to be some kind of writing amongst the background. Does anyone have any advice? Do I need to uninstall? I'm running Win8.1, i5, with 8GB RAM, GTX660. Any help would be appreciated. Worther_1 Worther_1 DCS Black Shark 2, A10-C, Huey, MiG-21bis, Hawk, Flaming Cliffs 3, F/A-18, Nevada Terrain.
Mike Busutil Posted December 4, 2014 Posted December 4, 2014 It worked great and I renamed relevant folder Well there's your problem... Don't rename the folder that has the textures. Worther_1 Posted December 4, 2014 Posted December 4, 2014 Sorry, that's just the way I wrote the post. All instructions for installation were followed correctly. The mod worked great from install up until today when new updated to DCS World was applied. Can you confirm DCS version your using and if this mod still works OK? Look like I'll have to revert to original version :-( Worther_1 DCS Black Shark 2, A10-C, Huey, MiG-21bis, Hawk, Flaming Cliffs 3, F/A-18, Nevada Terrain.
Mike Busutil Posted December 4, 2014 Posted December 4, 2014 (edited) I just updated yesterday to v1.2.12.34915. The Ka-50 "Ricardo's Upgraded HD Cockpit " mod works just fine on my computer. Can you confirm you placed the cockpit mod here" C:\Program Files\Eagle Dynamics\DCS World\Mods\aircraft\Ka-50\Cockpit\Resources\Model\Textures. Is it still called "Cockpit-Ka-50 Textures" or did you change the file name here? Also make sure you have a zipped folder in that location for the mod. Worther_1 Posted December 4, 2014 Posted December 4, 2014 (edited) Hi Mike/All, I've checked the readme notes, see below: "Backup: ...DCS World/Mods/aircrafts/Ka-50/Cockpit/Resources/Model/Textures/Cockpit-Ka-50 Textures.zip Rename: ...DCS World/Mods/aircrafts/Ka-50/Liveries/Cockpit_Ka-50/english folder to anything (i.e. "_english" or "helloworld")" This is the re-naming part I referred to earlier. The file path/folder name is shown in attached PDF. Again, any help is appreciated. Lizzard Posted December 4, 2014 Posted December 4, 2014 (edited) Hi, afaik Devrim changed his mod to the "use a folder with the same Name as the zip" method. so the only thing you have to do is...go to your ..DCS World/Mods/aircrafts/Ka-50/Cockpit/Resources/Model/Textures/ Folder In Devrims mod should be a folder named "Cockpit-Ka-50 Textures" just copy that folder to the DCS World/Mods/aircrafts/Ka-50/Cockpit/Resources/Model/Textures/ Folder now there you have a "Cockpit-Ka-50 Textures.zip" and a "Cockpit-Ka-50 Textures Folder" with devrims files in it. DCS prefers the files in the folder over the files in the zip. there ya go If not just create the "Cockpit-Ka-50 Textures" Folder there and copy devrims files in it (really the files) Edited December 4, 2014 by Lizzard My Specs: I don`t care..it is a Computer..a black one..
Mike Busutil Posted December 4, 2014 Posted December 4, 2014 Agreed, I did not have to rename any folders for it to work. Just replace the original texture folder with the new mod folder. Devrim Posted December 4, 2014 Author Posted December 4, 2014 Errm; This mod's zip file contains complete cockpit textures, that's why installation method has not been changed. Hi Mike/All, I've checked the readme notes, see below...Worther; It seems you placed mod file successfully. Now step #2; Could you please show us the content of this location: "...DCS World\Mods\aircraft\Ka-50\Liveries\Cockpit_Ka-50\english\" folder. Here, there must be no any file, but description.lua Step #3; And could you post this file's content? Thanks. Devrim Posted December 4, 2014 Author Posted December 4, 2014 Worther, according to modified date and size of your description.lua file, you may have not installed the mod properly. Go to my mod's folder, find description.lua and copy it into your english folder again. Size of my description.lua have to be 1Kb. not 2Kb.
