jib Posted September 17, 2012 Posted September 17, 2012 If you are anything like me after you have completed alignment you have to press Nav on the cdu, click Egi behind the stick and make sure the sas channels are enabled on the left. Bee_Sting Posted September 17, 2012 Author Posted September 17, 2012 Can someone should make a Vid!!! That would be great! Thanks Guys!
Tailgate Posted September 17, 2012 Posted September 17, 2012 (edited) The in-sim training vid is a little off because he doesn't wait until it's fully aligned, but otherwise it's pretty good. The only difference is to wait until the CDU shows T= 4.0.0.8 (or flashing INS NAV READY ) before clicking the NAV button on the CDU. Personally, I'll start the CDU/EAC power right after switching on the APU to start alignment earlier than in the training, (not sure if that's acceptable in the RW). Justin Case Posted September 17, 2012 Posted September 17, 2012 Can someone should make a Vid!!! That would be great! Thanks Guys! I've got one but It's in swedish! Ignore my talking and the rest of the video because it's just my own way to start the aircraft, not by the book, but start from 05:55 and note how I press NAV on the right MFCD and then EGI as source to the navigation system, and finally I flip the EAC switch. http://www.masterarms.se A Swedish Combat Flight Simulator Community.
Darkwolf187 Posted September 17, 2012 Posted September 17, 2012 I always flip the CDU/EGI switches right after I get the APU generator on, so it's like the 4th thing I do (power switches, APU on and to 100%, APU gen on, CDU/EGI on). Key thing is to make sure you wait until the CDU reads 'INS NAV READY', hit the NAV switch on the CDU, make sure all your SAS switches are on, the nav mode is set to EGI, the ground radar switch is on, then you can turn on EAC.
Bee_Sting Posted September 18, 2012 Author Posted September 18, 2012 (edited) i did all what you guys are saying to do but no go! the switch won't go into the up position! Bug maybe!?Where do you set the EGI and ground radar! Thanks for the Vid! i got it now by the way i know swedish i live in gbg Swe Edited September 18, 2012 by Bee_Sting
Darkwolf187 Posted September 18, 2012 Posted September 18, 2012 Radar altimeter switch is just to the right of the EAC switch, aft of the throttle quadrant, on the LASTE panel. EGI enable (sorry I don't know the right name) switch is on the center console right in front of the stick and below the HSI. There's a button with a green triangle on it by default with "HARS" on it, a horizontal switch which should be in the "STOW" position, and next to that is "EGI". Press that when the CDU flashes 'INS NAV READY' and you've already hit the NAV button on the CDU.
Namco51 Posted September 18, 2012 Posted September 18, 2012 I have the same problem, but think I figured out my problem. I used LWin + Home to watch the automated start up and realized that it waits an extra minute after finally NAV aligns before hitting the NAV button, then EGI on the NMSP, engaging the SAS channels and radar altimeter. If all else fails, try just waiting longer for NAV to align.
Darkwolf187 Posted September 18, 2012 Posted September 18, 2012 Pfft, cheater :P I never use that combo, primarily because it doesn't seem to work in Dragon's training pack missions, which is what I usually fly in. Also because I don't need it any more.
Tailgate Posted September 18, 2012 Posted September 18, 2012 If I power up and align CDU/EAC first thing after APU Start, then by the time I finish with the startup and system checks, it's aligned and ready, then all that's left is to set CDU to NAV , select EGI from the nav panel, and set the LASTE switches behind the throttle.
Slap_Chop Posted September 18, 2012 Posted September 18, 2012 Click the NAV Button on the right side of the CDU after it reaches 4.0.0.8. then Click EGI in front of the aircraft joystick. Then EAC will flip ON. I'd rather have a bottle in front of me than a frontal lobotomy and I've had both. [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]
