early screen below. most of the credit goes to monotwix on this one , trying to figure if we can get the birds to

fly around waypoints on map , add collision model as well.

 

for now its tweaking the animation .

 

low poly flock of animated birds..

later on if the mod turns out well

for realism we would need to script in hours , night time roost no birds flying around.

Easy cake, i was brainstorming earlier about the same ^

Im removing the crane, converting to edm, adding collison model (same as birds meshes) re-numbering two animation Arguments to 40(chopper rotors),

puting into ME as a chopper, puting into mission around runways, adding wapoints, start enoute task, search then engage :D --> Hard Landings :lol:

This is a very good idea, the more living the DCS world becomes, the better. I would love to see birds and animals when Im flying around.

I would love to see animals when Im flying around.

 

How about little pink piggy's with wings ?

 

I reckon most fly with "birds" option switched off , so why would they want this mod ?

i rekon many users would like to see the visual aspect along with the birds % setting in the sims options.

 

...but you wont be able to do (the visual) everywhere

Increasing birds % in settings is increasing (engine) failures by altitude - lower altitude means higher chance of failure, but this failure is valid all over the map - (i think over the sea also but im not sure coz im also not using the birds % in settings)

 

so the propably only way for visual is put birds as individual object into ME/mission

 

another idea: using all over the map just like smallshits :D ==> birds everywhere, wherever grass grow :smilewink:

That's correct, I turn off the birds option now, simply because there are no birds around.

yes i was thinking those 2 options,

 

really the dev team would need to code the visual side of it up with the birds % setting in options.

 

our alternative for now is editor route, user can add them when creating a mission.

but may have to create the birds as a ai aircraft option so they fly around waypoints created by user.

 

..see how it goes.

No Kuky, i wrote grass, coz of smallshit, and we can find grass in forests also.

We can find grass on slopes/hillsides. There are no smallshit above 2000 meters and on rough and high mountains, but no trees on fields.

So, i think this Birds-Smallshits comparison is good enough for start.

Moreover, as i remember Gransurf used animated Smallshits, so animated Birds also should be used - almost everywhere but of course not as dense as grass/smallshits. ;)

This mod looks awesome. It would be neat if it could be generated as part of the ground clutter, but i suppose that would have to be done on ED's side.

 

As far as being collidable, what kind of damage would it cause? Instant death?
