All of a sudden over the weekend during a campaign mission, all my radio text that shows on the left side of screen has began remaining on the screen filling the screen with this babble and makes it very difficult to see anything else. It sometimes goes away when I RTB and start chatting with the tower. Then when I land, it returns. It has happened about 4 times now. Did I inadvertantly change something or is this a common bug???

Are you asking for help?

I ask because you have provided no useful information, and just a brief on what you are experiencing; makes any help near impossible. :music_whistling:

OK Sven, I hate to sound like a smarta$$, but I thought I explained what was happening pretty well. But obviously not. So here goes again and a little slower this time.

Whenever the wingman, AWACS, tower, etc sends a radio messgae, the TEXT for that audio appears at the top left of the computer monitor. That TEXT usually only stays there for several seconds, and as you get newer messages, the previous messages start going away. That is, NORMALLY they disappear. Now, ALL the TEXT messages stay on the screen and eventually cover almost the entire left side of the screen and makes it VERY DIFFICULT to see through the windshield of the AIRCRAFT. They do however, go away when you call the tower on final approach. Then when you land, they reappear.

I have Easy radio comms selected in the gameplay options.

Well Turtle, I thought I would share my 25+ years in experience with computer software and hardware. So I guess that means that I have to beg for the information that I would need to determine a possible cause or solution? I love wasting my time with people that are too lazy to include relevant information and then be met by the attitudes that I should be privileged to have met said attitude.

Would love to help you, but you said that already.... :disgust:

How about something I could use?

Who the F%^k knows? You haven't given us ANY useful information( ppssstt!! Look at my signature for starters... )!

Sorry, I hate to sound like a dick. :noexpression:

Honestly, you sound like a dick. Probably comes with that 25+ years of "experience" you're bragging about. I just wonder what help you are going to offer if they would post their hardware info in their signature... just nothing!

The best thing you can do, is post a track, tell us what hardware you are using, OS and of course what version or Module of DCS you are using.

Did you install any new driver of your GPU? anything?

You are right! Just nothing... So that is what will be given... Good Luck gents, figure it out yourself! Guys like Lange_666 can help you - though he hasn't posted any helpful suggestion....

I all I wanted to know was what system hardware you have, OS you are using, what you tried already, etc, etc... I guess that is too much to ask... We, the people, trying to help, are just too conceited and should pry out the needed information.

I am out.

Why did you not ask for my system info in the first response instead of the riddles?????

This is what you should have said in your first post: "We need to know your system info before we can assist you with your problem." Instead, you posted a riddle. Then more riddles, then you started getting nasty.

This is what I wanted to say in response: ( Why didn't you just ask for my system information instead of being a big D__k ? And about right now Sven, you have now pi$$ed off several other folks here and I really don't care if I ever get any assistance from you for my problem. )

But I won't say any of that. I'll just say thank you for any help you might offer and I sincerely hope I didn't offend you in my previous post.

Here is a little more info: In the gameplay settings I have checked Radio Assists and Easy Communications. I have not saved any of the tracks from the messed up missions, and I really wouldn't have any idea how to save a portion of one of these tracks, and don't know how to attach the track to my post here. The problem does not start until many minutes into the mission. I assume you save the track to a file and then attach the file to the forum post.

And, I appologize to anyone I might have offended on here. I thought I was asking a simple question and I ended up a little frustrated by Sven telling me repeatedly that I wasn't giving anything he could use to assist me. He needs to realize that not everyone that buys this sim is a computer genius (like him evidently) and some of us respond better to simple questions better than hidden questions. I, nor anyone else, appreciates being belittled in a public forum. Again, I appologize for my behavior. :helpsmilie:

Radio Text/Menu

I have the exact same problem/issue, whenever i receive a radio message or "Bitch Betty" starts talking, the radio menus shows up in the top right corner of the monitor.

This behavior has been a problem/issue since updating the game to version 1.2.1 and beyond.

Sorry for no track file either (Deleted them all yesterday)

Options - Game play: Radio Assists = Off, Easy Communications = Off.

Options - Audio: Radio Speech = On, Subtitles = On

Game version: 1.2.2.7570

Modules: A-10C, CA, Ka-50, P-51D

PC: Windows 7 Home Premium x64, Intel Core i7 3.20 GHz, DDR3 Ram 12 GB, 240GB Sata3 SSD, GTX 670 SLI, Dual monitor setup, TrackIR 5, TM Hotas Warthog, Saitek Flight Rudder.

Quite correct. It would be great if you could replicate the problem in a flight as short as possible (but as long as necessary). Then immediately quit the flight. In the debriefing screen, click "Save track" and save it to some location on your harddrive.

Ideally, you should then watch the track and make sure it shows the problem. To do that, simply click "Replay" on the DCS main interface and select the track you just saved.

If the track plays back correctly and illustrates the problem, upload it to the forum. When you reply to this thread, look for the button labeled "Manage Attachments" below the text input box.

There you should be able to upload the track file you saved before. I think this process is fairly self explanatory, but ask right away if you have any questions.

The forum allows a maximum size of 5 MB for track files to be uploaded. If your track exceeds that limit, you could create an account on the DCS website and upload the track to the file exchange. That'll take a while because files will be reviewed before they become public, but it's a nice way around the forum size limit.

Another good thing would be if you could illustrate the problem with a screenshot. While the problem is visible in the cockpit, hit the "Print Screen" or "Print" key on your keyboard. The screenshot will automatically be saved. The default path (on Windows 7) is:

C:\Users\{your username}\Saved Games\DCS\ScreenShots

Just upload the image to the forum as described above.

Absolutely no need to apologize. The rude responses you received from another forum member were absolutely uncalled-for. Maybe he just had a bad day at the office or something.

computer said I had no files with that name. It's OK, it seems it only did it during that one mission. I have flown 4 or 5 missions past that one and it has not done it since. Go figure. Thanks for the help anyway.

okay.... radio comm's have shown up like this for me from day one, I just thought it was normal. I do use the 'easy' mode for comm's. In 'audio' I also have 'sub-titles' checked. This probably won't help, but thought I should toss it in here. (okay, poor reading skills, CZ__BPK already mentioned this...)

Note to Sven2157... Stow it, your rude and childish banter is really out of place here. Never seen the like of it in the 1000's of posts I've read in this forum.

I can see this is quite an old post, but the same thing happened to me in a mission I have created and used "Radio Transmission" from other units instead of "sound to...". The messages just hung there and didn't dissapear. Has anyone found any reason why this happens?

I am not using "easy comms".. will try it a few more times and post a track if it happens more often.

Is it possible to change the text color ..... instead of blue and red .....

Maybe to white or something better . I have no idea what color I would like but feel the blue is way to hard to see .
