dwest185 Posted April 10, 2013 Posted April 10, 2013 Those of us that are anxiously awaiting the release 1.2.4 due to the Huey UH-1H module being released with it are wondering if there is any kind of time frame? I mean are we talking several months from now, several weeks, a few days, what? I understand you may not want to give an exact date but some idea is all I ask. I am constantly checking the Belsimtek forums hoping to see that its been released only to find that there has been no new developments as far as release dates are concerned. I know I'm not the only one...
dwest185 Posted April 10, 2013 Author Posted April 10, 2013 two weeks. be sure. Thanks, I'll be sure to mark it on my calendar, 'Junior Member'.:bash:

dwest185 Posted April 10, 2013 Author Posted April 10, 2013 Well if that isnt the junior member calling the junior member a junior member... Yea, I'm content with my status as a junior member. I was only pointing to the fact that I have a question and I'd like a real answer from a reputable ED source such as yourself...:)
Murphyd Posted April 10, 2013 Posted April 10, 2013 Speaking on behalf of junior members everywhere, I mean those junior members who object to being called junior members by those junior members who insist on calling other junior members, junior members, I'd just like to say... Dammit. I've forgotten my point. -- Murphy 2

shagrat Posted April 10, 2013 Posted April 10, 2013 If you search a bit on this forum you will see a "few" threads asking about when a certain module, patch, update will be released. Further you will see, this topic is sensitive and after more then one shitstorm and heated discussions, especially when the patch breaks things or is not giving the performance enhancement people want, they rant and point fingers. As a result, most developers (ED as well as 3rd party) tend to keep their mouths shut and wait with announcements until they are ready. I can totally understand why they do it, if you got burnt more than twice you tend to be careful. So basically Skatezilla's statement is about it! :music_whistling: Don't be disappointed, we will know quickly when it is out... monitor the forum, play DCS regularly, or wait for the newsletter. Raven68 Posted April 10, 2013 Posted April 10, 2013 Well, I was hoping for a real answer from ED but...:hmm: I guess the last episode from 1.2.3 got a little out of hand with the delays and makes anyone from ED hesitant to release any information as to when to expect a release or updates. Then the balloon get deflated if they aren't able to deliver as promised. I really cant blame them for not showing up as much and I am sure they are hard at it to deliver soon. It's been around 3 weeks since any substantial news, but the latest we have to draw from is the news letter. Demongornot Posted April 10, 2013 Posted April 10, 2013 1.2.4 mean release of the Huey's beta, so i think a date will be given before it was release, and this patch will be maybe a huge one compare to other actually release, and i think FC3 will be the final version. It mean that the patch 1.2.4 will add a lot of feature, new Third Party compatibility, multiple aircraft position, new feature for multiplayer (even if now its stable, and congratulation ED for the nice work with the Multiplayer completely stable now, we don't see aircraft teleporting anymore cause of packet loss), it will also adding some feature for the next project of ED even if it don't will be release before some month and maybe a final game's structure modification... Anyways the patch 1.2.4 will be a huge one, it require a lot of work from ED, a lot of time for do it and test it and i don't think it will be release that soon, but anyways you can still check Belsimtek part of the forum and see if any date was give, but a promo video was already out, i'm sure it mean that the Huey (and DCS World 1.2.4 with him) will be release soon, but when...no one can told it. Don't forget that A10A, SU-27 (probably SU-33 too) and SU-25 3D cockpit was announced, it mean a lot of work, and maybe the SU-25T and the Mig-29 will also have one for the FC3 release, and who know, maybe a new FC3 aircraft will be release for the finale, like F-16, F-15E or F/A-18C. I'm also sure that some new 3D model/texture for AI aircraft (not update since the first Lock On) will be update... Anyways if Belsimtek don't say any release date, the only way to obtain some info its to check the Official Updates part of the forum, no one will inform you here its sure and if anyone who know the release date was even ready to talk about it, you will already know it. But be patient for this one, it will be a big patch i'm sure about it. Although nothing is confirmed I would say consider the scope of work for FC3 with all those new 6DOF pits and the testing the stability of the features once again and 3rd party implementation. Yeah you might want dedicate more time to the wife, girl friend or whatever your relationship preference is while you can before the release of 1.2.4. After that you will probably neglect them. :smilewink: Intel i5-9600K @ 3.7GHz; Gigabyte Z370XP SLI Mobo; G.SKILL Ripjaws V Series 64GB (4 x 16GB) 288-Pin DDR4 GIGABYTE GeForce RTX 4080 16GB 256-Bit GDDR6; Thermaltake Water 3.0 Certified Liquid Cooling System Windows 11 Professional HP Reverb G2 /TrackIR 5 in case VR dies; Thrustmaster HOTAS Warthog w/ Thrustmaster T-Flight Rudder Pedals
Oznerol256 Posted April 10, 2013 Posted April 10, 2013 Its always like that. I have awaited 1.2.3 because of the networking stability. Now i enjoy flying online with almost no crashes. However, im awaiting 1.2.4 because of the "crash on ship destruction" bug being fixed. And of course i want to see how the mission building folks are going to integrate that transport chopper into DCS! As ED is a small development studio, releasing a new version with notable new features needs some time. My advice for you: Stop waiting for the next version! (or at least try it :P) Instead, you should go online and enjoy the almost perfect network stability! Im pretty sure ED is going to do some shit in the future that messes up the network again. dwest185 Posted April 10, 2013 Author Posted April 10, 2013 You could just go on playing DCS. When its done, the autoupdater should notify you I realize that but I've grown bored with A10C and BS2 so I don't play them daily.

rjetster1 Posted April 10, 2013 Posted April 10, 2013 Look at the official updates, lots of info there on DCS modules and forthcoming releases. I know waiting can be painful, however Wags and crew are very good with providing intelligence to the official updates forum.
