HiJack Posted May 5, 2013 Posted May 5, 2013 The color of the route should be white, blue or red for visibility. With the current color it is not easy to actually see the waypoints.
ckek Posted May 5, 2013 Posted May 5, 2013 Yes, it is possible. You would just have to take the default lua files from 1.2.4 and copy the missing functions into your saved lua files. Use Notepad++, not Windows Notepad. thank you~!!! :thumbup: [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]
Pizzicato Posted May 5, 2013 Posted May 5, 2013 Can someone confirm the Kneeboard is only visible whilst the keys are held pressed down, in other words you cant have it just sitting there ? No, this is incorrect. HOLDING K will show the keyboard for as long as you hold the key. PRESSING Shift+K will toggle it on or off unti you press SHIFT+K again. i7-7700K @ 4.9Ghz | 16Gb DDR4 @ 3200Mhz | MSI Z270 Gaming M7 | MSI GeForce GTX 1080ti Gaming X | Win 10 Home | Thrustmaster Warthog | MFG Crosswind pedals | Oculus Rift S
cichlidfan Posted May 5, 2013 Posted May 5, 2013 Another useful thing about the kneeboard commands... The previous and next page commands function whether the kneeboard is displayed or not. So you can change pages without having it on the screen first. Fuzzy_bear Posted May 5, 2013 Posted May 5, 2013 I've only used the kneeboard in the Huey but mine is to blurry to read. Is it a graphics setting somewhere to get a crisp image or do I need a newer pc yesterday? I can Hardly make out any writing not to mention ndb's vor's etc. for navigation.
Robin_Hood Posted May 6, 2013 Posted May 6, 2013 I had the same thing, it's a graphics setting issue. Not 100% sure which, but try increasing Textures quality and Res. of cockpit display (my bet would be on that one). I recently increased both and the kneeboard is not blurry anymore :thumbup: 2nd French Fighter Squadron
Haukka81 Posted May 6, 2013 Posted May 6, 2013 I have a problem with the Kneeboard. I use two screens and the Kneeboard appears between the two screens. pepin1234 Posted May 6, 2013 Posted May 6, 2013 Bumb, need to move kneeboard too. Please someone help. -haukka81 Do what said Grimes: Grimes: Its a pretty straight forward process to add new buttons to existing profiles. Rename your keyboard.lua file to something else. Start the sim, and go to the options for that aircraft. A new keyboard file will be generated. Use notepad++ to compare the files. Copy and paste any new entries into your customized keyboard.lua. Delete the default keyboard.lua and rename your customized one back to keyboard.lua. [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]

Wrong answer.. he´s problem, like my problem is the kneeboard spot just between the two screens, so we need where we can modify the place to adjust to the UI main screen.

Open the file "...\DCS World\Scripts\Aircrafts\_Common\Cockpit\KNEEBOARD\indicator\init.lua". 2. Search for the text "is_left = false". 3. Change text "is_left = false" to "is_left = true". All this tweak does is move the default kneeboard position to left side of main monitor. This may address your problem if you are using a profile with multiple monitors, but of course it all depends on your personal configuration. I was having the same issue and it it worked for me. . PeterP Posted May 7, 2013 Posted May 7, 2013 Find a early Mod for enabling a editable Viewport for the Kneeboard in this post. Kneebord Export for all DCS modules - I need your suggestions Ceck the whole tread from post 1 to gather relevant info how to use the files, as up to now no read-me is available.
splash Posted March 2, 2014 Posted March 2, 2014 F15c, su25, a10c and uh1h have kneeboard to the right, and other planes to the left.
OverDhill Posted November 7, 2014 Posted November 7, 2014 For future reference. I used this to change position for the F15C kneeboard Edit this file: Scripts\Aircrafts\_Common\Cockpit\ViewportHandling.lua Edit these lines (about line 29-30) to move and resize the kneeboard. Here's my edit: -- ----- MOVE & RESIZE THE KNEEBOARD ---------------------------------------------------------------- -- ORIGINAL CODE: dedicated_viewport = {default_x,default_y,default_width,default_height} dedicated_viewport = {1342,10,562,750}
FOXFIRE TWOONE Posted November 25, 2014 Posted November 25, 2014 Is kneeboard volume limited I tried to add some info to my kneeboard today and it dose not show up in sim. This was the first time I have placed anything in it since the last two minor updates. Is it broken or limited to how much can be placed in it. I currently have 29 items in my kneeboard. vicx Posted December 12, 2014 Posted December 12, 2014 Last month, I spent days trying to get kneeboard working for CA vehicles. ED, Please add kneeboard support to vehicles.
BrassEm Posted December 12, 2014 Posted December 12, 2014 (edited) ▲ THIS Thanks for the Heads Up vicx. Was just scanning the forums now to see if it was possible. You saved me some time. ED, Please add kneeboard support to vehicles. It would be a great help just as it is for the aircraft. Edited December 13, 2014 by BrassEm Speeling www.brass-em.com
NeilWillis Posted December 13, 2014 Posted December 13, 2014 Bumb, need to move kneeboard too. Please someone help. -haukka81 Go to \DCS World\Scripts\Aircrafts\_Common\Cockpit Here you will have to edit line 29 in ViewportHandling.lua where it says dedicated_viewport = {default_x,default_y,default_width,default_height} this controls the x/y position and width/height of kneeboard Eg. dedicated_viewport = {10,3850,562,750} will place the kneeboard in the top-left corner, with a dimension of 562 x 750 pixels. My setting is: {3920,0,562,750} which places the kneeboard on the right side of my right monitor on a 3 monitor setup
