Anybody got this fantastic model in .edm format and would they share it with us ?

was that even build for DCS?, if not it would take some work to even make it compatible.

Built for FC2, his CVN was built at the same time and that is compatible and is/was available in .edm format. All it needs is somebody with the skills and tools to change the .lom file to .edm

 

His CVN looks fantastic in DCS, I run all three versions, the game standard and two of his, one with F18's on deck and one clean deck.

 

I have added to his deck textures a fair bit as well, eye candy is everything !!!!!

I could look into converting it, but I'd also ask permission to do so before I do it.

With Tomcatz CVN model ?, or are they doing both. I have the CVN's, I want the Kutz now.

 

Skatezilla, you might have problems getting hold of Tomcatz, his in box is full and wont accept any new pm's and I have not seen any posts by him for a long time now. I hope he around though, a great modeller, we need guys like him.

I'd Also have to look into LOM->EDM Conversion without Max (Using EDMViewer), as I havent really dont it before, but Im pretty sure I know how.

I use EDMViewer a lot for structures changes I am making but have not learned how to do the LOM->EDM conversion. I have tried but it never works, I must be doing something wrong.

I have tried to contact him but cannot get a reply. I tried the German site as well but no joy, he has dropped off the radar for quite a time now.

 

He gave me some stuff to work on before and as you say he is a very helpful when it comes to assisting others.

 

Hope he is okay, the stuff he has produced in the past is of the very highest quality and we need guys like him.

Tomcatz posted a few days before that he deleted all the dcs stuff on his harddrive and is flying BMS till the next DCS Fighter shows up.

I have it in lom format, but I am unable to make any contact with Tomcatz to ask. I believe he has gone off to fly something else for now.

 

Given it is already available for everything else I see no reason not to change it to edm if somebody has the kit and the skill to do it, it's the same model, nobody is changing it or altering it or claiming it is anything other than Toms excellent work.

Wasn't there a scale issue with the Kuz? The personnel on board were giants, none the less it's an awesome model.

you're right. Tom (and our squadron, too) is aktually flying BMS until the first modern DCS fighter is in the open beta or released.

 

Tom is a member of our squadron, the VJS-161 "madbulls", so I will ask him, if he convert the kuz to DCS. Maybe, he has time to do that ... and is in the mood.

Cheers HungrJET, this could be the second time you came to my rescue.

 

I don't know how much work is involved but if you had time could you do two separate deck versions like you did with Toms Vinson.

 

I would be happy to do the work to create the second deck texture if you could - I was thinking along the lines of having a Kutz AND the new Chinese Carrier Liaoning as well, just tell me what the second deck names are and I will do the rest.

 

Anyway, whatever you find time to do will be greatly appreciated mate.

It would need four texture changes to Toms original .edm:

 

Call them

 

Liaon-Deck-01.bmp

Liaon-Deck-02.bmp

 

and

 

SU-33-Liaon-R-06.bmp

SU-33-Liaon-L-06.bmp

 

If you can change those texture names within the new .edm I will do the new decks and new textures for the Chinese Su-33 as well.

 

I think everything else will be okay with the original textures already in the .edm.

 

Thanks for doing that so quickly mate, I have already made a start on the Liaoning decks.

 

I will decide which host ship to use for it later, will need to think about that first.
