The wait will be painfully long until I can get my hand on my beloved M.2000

Nice work , hope to see more in the future.

why not?

how could anyone be against a a commercial aircraft modeled in DCS? i mean.. its not like they are a direct threat to you. if anything it would only bring more customers. im sure there are plenty of scenarios that could involve these aircraft given the right circumstances.

the only problem i can see with it is that developers might spend more time on these aircraft instead of a developing a multirole fighter which we gravely need. other than this i have no problems with a military transport or the like..

also.. mirage would be cool. would be great if some aircraft used by all nations in the current theater end up being modeled. it would allow for more mission possibilities in terms of back story.

Please no civil aircrafts ... this is not FSX! :noexpression:
Why not? Some Air America style mission sound interesting to me.

To build a "heavy multi role aircraft" first need learn how build them and ED implement some functions no available on DCS: W (ground radar, multicrew, etc), and DCS: W has not olny a "combat Sim"

What I don't understand is the penchant for Trainer aircraft in DCS.... Sure I get the idea of "Hey it would be neat for training" but seriously... This is a Combat Sim, please, please can we have a heavy multi role combat aircraft... Tornado, F-15E etc before the civilian / trainer stuff..

This is why... T6A Texan II

and this...

T-38C

Fantastic aircraft!

Aside from other issues, it is also up to what a 3rd party company wants to build. The next major aircraft from ED is apparently going to be the F-18C. Aside from that we have various 3rd parties who may, or may not, release other combat aircraft in the coming years. If a company comes along and wants to build a T-6 (perhaps because they have a really good collection of source material and SMEs for it), there is no compelling reason for ED, or anyone else, to say no.

Also understand that we are all learning how to integrate with DCS.

Therefore doing the less complex training aircraft is much easier than jumping in feet first with a complex multi role fast jet aircraft.

And remember guys, the T-6 is also an AT-6 light attack aircraft... *Hint*

With significant modification, yes.

That being said, a COIN aircraft would probably find a nice home here in the DCS environ.

If you aim for the sky, you will never hit the ground.

Sirs, you have given me the best answer I could wish for, it makes absolute sense now and I feel slightly embarrassed by my lack of forward thinking. I was forgetting that YOU, the Devs, have to learn about DCS (how it works and to implement your products etc) just as new aviators to the DCS universe do. Please accept my sincerest apologies for my rather sharp comment.

Thank you very much to all who replied.

P.S. Seeing as there is a penchant for the Prop aircraft atm is there any chance of a "HOBO" A1-E??? :D

The problem, as I see it, is that you haven't expanded your view of what DCS World *could* be. The A-10C and the Ka-50 are excellent examples of aircraft that are so well modeled that even non-combat flight simulation enthusiasts could really enjoy the sim without ever dropping a bomb or shooting a gun. DCS World is NOT a combat simulator in spite of the obvious name - it is a base platform for whatever the market wants to develop (tanks, ships, civilian vehicles, etc..) The more diversified the product lineup becomes, the more revenue will flow downstream to the projects that you find important.

Believe it a not, shooting a hand flown approach to minimums can actually be more difficult and dangerous than dropping a laser guided bomb. Why not lure some of the hardcore FSX flyers into our world with DCS's exceptional fidelity and graphics?

I'm excited about the prospect of a T-6 II Texan. If they took it a step forward it isn't too hard to imagine them doing the AT-6B..(I believe it borrows some of the A-10C components if I'm not mistaken):

Not much not to like about that..

* Edit..saw you replied...glad to see you recognize that World can have a broad appeal.. <cheers!>

I'd pay A LOT to be able to get in the cockpit of a KC130, AC 130 or even simply a C 130.

I know it sounds boring to the youngsters... Heck I'd fly willingly the AWACS...

Just imagine if two or more gals/guys were in the back directing in real time flights and such.

+1 not only the Multirole / Attack airplanes can be "funny", others support airplanes can be very interesting and open a interesting market (I´d pay to a P-3C hunting subs or a A400M deploy paratropers). :)

Man..I'd love to fly an A400M..what a sexy aircraft.. Would provide some great opportunities for mission builders to escort. Anyone remember that Jane's F-15 mission where you had to escort the C-130 out of hostile territory..?

I'm actually surprised we haven't yet seen a Vietnam Era Kickstarter put forward similar to the WWII one. I think it would be quite well received...

I don't know why, but the F-105 does something for me. Maybe the name Thunderchief excites me? Regardless it is an awesome aircraft. Now that baby makes me want some alone time!

I'm sure there will be someone within the year to grasp the kickstarter for the Vietnam

era. There should be a lot of material out there to support the level of detail on the level of

the A-10C also.
