Suchacz Posted July 20, 2013 Posted July 20, 2013 (edited) What happened to the ATC update????????? Regards, Gary I really hope this is in, it was the most anticipated feature of this patch for me. Exactly... Maybe they cut bigger slice of bread than they can eat till the release. Ok, we'll wait, we have loooooooads of time :smilewink: Edited July 20, 2013 by Suchacz Per aspera ad astra! VTJS17_Fire Posted July 20, 2013 Posted July 20, 2013 can someone from the DEV team can us say, how big will be the Nevada map (qkm or mi2) or post a picture about which area we all talk but not know? Cedaway Posted July 20, 2013 Posted July 20, 2013 Oh, shame that we wouldn't have more EDGE update. What is interesting is to see the evolutions between builds. I'd rather have a real location than to pretend I have one. I guess I'm spoiled by FSX. :music_whistling:
Gary Posted July 20, 2013 Posted July 20, 2013 Could we have some offical news on the ATC update please? Confirmation its in or out of 1.2.5? At the risk of being greedy a little detail if it is in? I5 - 1TB SSHD, 256 SSD - Nvidia 1070 - 16gb ram - CV1

And it would be interesting to have a discussion over 'the under the hood' of the engine. Just the nerd touch... Well it seems we wont have them for a few months at least. If people would stop being so critical and understand that the map being driven by EDGE is still an early rebuild we might get more. At least we know that we can expect a delivery before the end of the year. That's the good news and I am sure much more will come that we wont be able to control ourselves. Rotorhead Posted July 20, 2013 Posted July 20, 2013 It seems to me that golden era of DCS begins now. The so much awaited image generator, which many have already written off as "Nevadaware" ;), should arrive by the end of this year. More maps from ED and 3rd parties will hopefully follow. New (and well deserved) 3D model for Su-33, that everyone requested for so long, is coming as well. Another one for Tu-22. Beczl's Mig-21 should make it by the end of this year too. Dora is another plane to come and already looks fantastic. Hopefully, work on F-18C continues as well. Belsimtek's Mi-8 is said to be on a pretty high level of completion, and Huey is waiting for quite a few updates, including things like troop transport etc. And I haven't even mentioned other 3rd party devs. I believe that soon, all of us simmers will be very happy. :)
Gary Posted July 20, 2013 Posted July 20, 2013 Did you see it in change log? Not sure if that is some smart arsed reply to imply if its not in the change log then it wont be in 1.2.5 (would have preferred you just to say not included anymore) If it is perhaps you might want to consider that it wasnt mentioned in a previous update but Wags came onto the forum to confirm it would be included. A straightforward yes or no would be great thanks. If it wasnt an attempt to look clever - I sincerely apologise Kind regards, Gary 1 I5 - 1TB SSHD, 256 SSD - Nvidia 1070 - 16gb ram - CV1
Risk Posted July 20, 2013 Posted July 20, 2013 I am a little sad that there was no mention of F/A-18c. I came to DCS because of the incredible work they did on the A-10C. I am not really interested in WWII era aircraft. I thought I read in a previous post that DCS was updating to a 64 bit architecture, but I see no mention of it in the change log.

EtherealN Posted July 20, 2013 Posted July 20, 2013 Yes, so exciting to simulate simulated combat, isn't it? :pilotfly: Just kidding, no offence. Actually, I find that more enjoyable than most of the other online game variants. Yes I know, I'm weird. :P Think of it like this: your squad gets a new recruit, you're going to get him up to speed and train him up to where he can represent your colors - where better to do that than a real training area? Single-player... perhaps not though. :) But simply flying around is fun too; most of my flying time in the UH-1 is joyriding, actually. :D [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC] Daniel "EtherealN" Agorander | Даниэль "эфирныйн" Агорандер Intel i7 2600K @ 4.4GHz, ASUS Sabertooth P67, 8GB Corsair Vengeance @ 1600MHz, ASUS GTX 560Ti DirectCU II 1GB, Samsung 830series 512GB SSD, Corsair AX850w, two BENQ screens and TM HOTAS Warthog DCS: A-10C Warthog FAQ | DCS: P-51D FAQ | Remember to read the Forum Rules | | | Life of a Game Tester
Teknetinium Posted July 20, 2013 Posted July 20, 2013 (edited) If even considering an infinite amount of parallel realities, this is not possible. Nate If cars or any other physical product was sold with that many bugs it would get way more criticism than software products do. Its seams it is a standard to have bugs in games now days. Especially in simulators. ARMA/SFX/DCS are just few examples. Its like after a game is released you have to wait and complain for debugging for 2/3 of the time before next module arrive which has same cycle where 2/3 the time goes to debugging where old bugs do get forgotten because of the new ones. In the end it is a risk you get divided community like SFX with all kind of different levels of realism. Very bad trend that needs to be broken. Give ED the development budget that Ford and Toyota has... and perhaps things will happen. ;) Alternatively, would you pay an order of magnitude or two more per license? And would enough people do that? No-one wants bugs, but we live in reality. Even the big-money games like Shooter X has issues with this budget-wise, since the reality for the publishers is that even if a single game might make huge wads of cash, they need that money to cover the expenses for the games that didn't pull through economically. And of course, a bug in a computer game does not result in people dying, so the analogy doesn't quite hold. :) [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC] Daniel "EtherealN" Agorander | Даниэль "эфирныйн" Агорандер Intel i7 2600K @ 4.4GHz, ASUS Sabertooth P67, 8GB Corsair Vengeance @ 1600MHz, ASUS GTX 560Ti DirectCU II 1GB, Samsung 830series 512GB SSD, Corsair AX850w, two BENQ screens and TM HOTAS Warthog DCS: A-10C Warthog FAQ | DCS: P-51D FAQ | Remember to read the Forum Rules | | | Life of a Game Tester
