I also have a wish: don't let this great machine rot. The old BST models do NOT receive any attention. Only the Huey with multicrew, but without the Mi-24 in the neck, that would not have happen

I totally agree. The Mi-8 is seriously underrated, I think it's the best helicopter in DCS. The module is crying out for some love from the developers. I'm hoping the lessons learned in

The old BST models do NOT receive any attention. Only the Huey with multicrew, but without the Mi-24 in the neck, that would not have happened either.

 

2021 should be the year of the helicopter ... hah. It's almost June and NOTHING has happened. If it's the money, I'll be happy to pay for a makeover of the individual models.

Nothing for years. Not even reactions here in the forum. I am not disappointed, but now I am very frustrated.

 

Please bring your modules up to date and react to your customers here in the forum from time to time.

Yes it does get annoying. I make regular comments about the state of the Mi-8 on ED's FB as well, and *if* I get a reply, it's just along the lines of "we have nothing to share at this time".

I totally agree.

The Mi-8 is seriously underrated, I think it's the best helicopter in DCS.

The module is crying out for some love from the developers.

I'm hoping the lessons learned in creating the Hind will filter down to the Eight at some point.

I too would be happy to pay for an upgrade similar to what happened witht the A-10.

Stupid little things like the head position limits when using TrackIR so you can't see the spotlight switch properly in the lower left of the Pilot Commander panel....argh!!!

I wouldn't hold my breath. ED is getting money by churning new modules, not fixing old ones. Unless they get pressured in it by angry mob. Sadly, RW just does not have the numbers of people for that to hapen.

I seem to remember PilotMi8 saying in a Russian interview a while ago, that they'd love to revisit the Mi-8 after the Mi-24, if they're allocated time/resources.
He specifically mentioned crewman AI etc for increased immersion.

Yes, the idea is to have an AI copilot who can autonomously operate the doppler navigation, and switch to new waypoints set up in the ME without pilot (player) input. This would severely increase immersion, and breathe new life into the module 🙂 

I also wouldn't mind having the technician in the middle being able to autonomously operate the engine/APU fire extinguishers, so I can focus on keeping the helo flying properly, since it will have lost the dampeners at that point.

Be careful what you wish for. IDK what is thinking behind it, but multicrew will lock you in pilot seat when flying MP in both Huey and Hind.

While there isn't anything important in Huey left seat or Hind front, locking you out of right seat in Mi8 will severely limit you.

as much as i like and want multicrew it sotra ruins the UH-1 in online when you are alone
we need a way to switch seats in online for the Mi-24 and UH-1 first
before we get MC for the hip

Thank you for the livery, I already have it but others may not, the Mi-8 is still unavailable to Syria and everyone needs to install that livery to see it on a server. Hence the wishlist.
