Right. "Aircrafts" is now "aircraft".

And yes (1), you can delete "aircrafts" folder if you wish and if there's no thing important for you. :)

And yes (2), you should check your JSGME mods and fix path as "aircraft".

Thanks for sharing this result from an obvious incredible amount of work.

The Russian lettering is one of the few things that has slowed me from jumping in the cockpit (of this mod I have had for a while now).

I find it hard enough to learn all the systems as it is without having to first learn an entirely new alphabet and/or language reading skills.

I just might jump in the Mi-8 today and take'r for a spin now that I can find relevant switches !!

I guess the only pitfall that still remains is trying to convert the Russian Symbols in the Manual to these English Switches.

I recommend using JSGME for installing the mod... is simple and no headaches when patches arrive.

I use JSGME, but I always thought it isn't possible to patch files into zip files.

Has that changed?

You can create a folder with the same name as the zip-file and every file in that folder shadows the one in the zip file.

Hello dear Devrim,

In first a great thanks for your new version it's very cool from your part ^^

I have a little question for the installation, please can you tell me if my method is good:

#1:

I open my original MI8MTV-STND-TEXTURES.zip

#2:

I unzip your file and I select your 17 files, after that I "drag&drop" these 17 files into my original MI8MTV-STND-TEXTURES.zip.

Is it good like this ?

A great thanks again, Skull.

drag-drop all the 17 files to that zip file works as well (which was old installation instr. from devrim)

Hello dear Uboats,

the new installation method is highly recommended that it will not be impacted by the repair/update of dcs

I'm so confused.

I don't know the difference between old and new methods ?

I used the JSGME but any time I disable any mod, it gets deleted completely (not sure that it's supposed to do that but that's what happens).

I'd rather do a Manual Install of any/all mods (unless they come with an Installer !!). BUT I don't know how to do that. I'm not sure which folder/sub-folder I am supposed to install these files, nor do I understand the putting of "zip files into a zip folder". If they are already zipped, why are they being put in a zipped folder ?

What am I missing here ?

OR If I/We are required to put the files into a sub-folder (which we create ... somewhere) is that sub-folder named EG: "blablabla" OR "blablabla.zip" ?

And if the latter is the case, why not just drop the zip folder directly into the parent folder (whichever that is) ?

As I stated .... I am so confused.

Actually no need to be confused.

With old method, you'll move modded files into original zip file. Now (with new method), you can create a folder (same name with zip) and move modded files into it. DCS will read created folder first. You don't have to touch original files...

With both ways you can convert it to a JSGME mod though.

To me, new method is very easier to install, and as Uboats stated, you can "repair" or "update" your DCS World without thinking about your mods. DCS will never care your files.

1) Browse: "...\DCS World\Mods\aircraft\Mi-8MTV2\Cockpit\Resources\Model\Textures\"

2) Create a folder in name: "MI8MTV-STND-TEXTURES"

3) Move (drag&drop) 17 files from zip to MI8MTV-STND-TEXTURES folder. That's it.
