silentbob11 Posted September 24, 2013 Posted September 24, 2013 read the posts, went through the threads and wanted to know - is 1.2.6 broken? I've tried flying both FC3 and A-10C in single player cnampaign mode and crashied every time usually a few minutes into the game with C++ runtime error messege. did the dance - repair, delete saved game folder, fresh install and jumping on one leg on a full moon night - still crashes while 1.2.5 was perfecrly stable. DCS world currently seems unplayable for me - or is it just me? SB11 CPU: intel Core i7 9700K ~ 3.6 GHZ , nVidia RTX2060 SUPER, 32GB 3300 Mhz RAM, DELL 24" LED. Windows 10
ED Team NineLine Posted September 24, 2013 ED Team Posted September 24, 2013 It seems to only effect a few players, although some issues with comms (which have been reported and a fix in the works) have caused some C++ errors. Something to try is a fresh clean install of 2010 C++, that has worked for others. read the posts, went through the threads and wanted to know - is 1.2.6 broken? silentbob11 Posted September 24, 2013 Author Posted September 24, 2013 Does it give you the option to save a track after these crashes happen, or are you booted right out of the game? after the runtime error messege pops up, it goes back to the debriefing screen but says it can't get the debrief file or something like that... MEDIC!! :))) apperently not :)... but with all this hussle... is it so hard to admit that this release has gone bad and release a new version? after all people paid good money for this sim and modules and deserve to get a playable one without having to go through gazzilion optional "fixes" that may or may not work. ED Team NineLine Posted September 24, 2013 ED Team Posted September 24, 2013 Well on the flip side, I did not have to do any of this, and I have not had any of these crashes, so its hard to pin it all on 1.2.6 right? So we have to figure out why you are having these crashes while I am not... hope that makes sense. :))) apperently not :)... but with all this hussle... is it so hard to admit that this release has gone bad and release a new version? after all people paid good money for this sim and modules and deserve to get a playable one without having to go through gazzilion optional "fixes" that may or may not work. DD_Fenrir Posted September 25, 2013 Posted September 25, 2013 Hi bob - i understand your frustration but please bear in mind that solving your issues is not a simple one post reply solution. Since not everyone is suffering the problems you have it must be something specific to your machine; whether it is software or hardware we cannot know yet. The guys are working by a process of elimination - you said you had a C++ error warning, and it would be logical to reinstall C++ and see if that cures the fault. It hasn't, which is bloody annoying I know but we have at least eliminated a variable. Trial & error, or change & test is the only way these guys are going to have a chance of narrowing down what could be causing the issue. One option if you are installing from a download version of the game, be it steam, torrent or FTP, could be to re-download a fresh copy of DCS: World and install from that; it is not unknown to get corrupted files from d/l even from good bandwidth sites and having a speedy personal connection. I have had such corrupted files for other applications; they pass checksums but somehow still throw up errors when unpacked and installed, yet a fresh download on a quiet day has fixed things. Sorry you're having issues but fixes are not always cut & dried.
SkateZilla Posted September 25, 2013 Posted September 25, 2013 Im currently re-building one of my lower spec systems to use in getting some error dumps from some of these errors. as for C++ errors, last time I checked I had several versions of each C++ Build, and then Service Packs for them. There are Also 2 or 3 Windows Updates that mess up games over the last few months. But I think MS has pulled them and issued Hotfixes Via Windows Update. Also, Look at Page File Usage, if it's too small or non-existant, when it gets full, you'll get a Cx000005 Access_Violation. Systems with less ram will use the page file more and spool to it more often. RagnarDa Posted September 25, 2013 Posted September 25, 2013 I have the same problem. Have had a few crashes with C++ error in latest version. I'm not at my sim-comp right now so I can't check if theres a crashdump but I will get back to you with that. Just wanted to say that the problem might be anything, not only corrupt files but could also be a bug. I would compare our settings and if we have same modules or mods installed. IIRC I have all graphic settings at high and I have all modules installed + the low & slow terrain-mod. DCS AJS37 HACKERMAN There will always be bugs. If everything is a priority nothing is.
SkateZilla Posted September 25, 2013 Posted September 25, 2013 All APP Crashes save details in the Windows Event Viewer/Windows/Application Log. Depending on Some settings, it will also save a memory dump.
