The lesson with the UH-1H was quite clear: never buy a DCS product at full price, because it won't be long before it goes on sale. I paid full price for the UH-1H and I didn't mind doing so. I have wanted a detailed UH-1 sim since before sims even existed. However, it was quite annoying to find that if I had merely waited a week or two that I could have saved quite a bit of money. Lesson learned.

It is just something one has to accept in the digital age, and I think it is something good. Customers get lower prices.

For example, Max Payne 3 was 50% off just weeks after release, and BF4 has gone on sale for $20 just a month after release. So it is not uncommon.

At $50-60 (and probably more) per aircraft, and now that ED will be charging us for terrian (and maybe AI units? cloud affects?) I'd say the customers can use a few sales. If you really want to show your support buy day one or buy a bunch of copies at discount.

Same...hence why I'm waiting for the discount.

All my DCS modules are bought from their own store.

Question: Can I buy a module from Steam and activate it on the DCS store?

You can buy it on Steam, retrieve the CD key, download the module from the DCS site and then activate it with the Steam key.

Source for that ED is charging us for the new terrain? Might be that I missed something, but I thought that EDGE/Nevada map (I think you mean that with 'new terrain') will be free for DCS module owners?

Incorrect. Nevada will be free ONLY to those that purchased the A-10C while it was in Beta. Ownership of any other modules is irrelevant.

Well, that sucks... Any idea what it might cost? Same price as the DCS modules, or more than that?

As with other modules, ED does not discuss price until they offer the item for sale.

Does anyone know if DCS from Steam runs more smoothly? I've had it up to *here* with DCS crashing to desktop 100% of the time I load in and not responding 50% of the time when I try to bring it back up, despite reinstalling everything from scratch, running as administrator, removing old saved files, etc.

I'd seriously rather spend ridiculous amounts buying everything via Steam again than take one more day of that nonsense.

It is the exact same code with some minor Steam related changes. I highly doubt there is a performance difference.

What Cichlidfan said, same code, just some store/updater changes.

Download it via steam and see if it runs, you should be able to activate everything in steam using your License Key (Except FC3 if you live outside of the Limited (RUS) Zone)
