Can't you simply launch the editor in 1.2.7 beta, load the mission and save it thus capturing the 1.2.7 beta version?

Yes of course but then it is not a ED "certified" mission for 1.2.7 and there have been changes to loadouts etc. but sure that will work. But my idea was that ED should make a mission they self have provided for testing purposes on servers that for instance reports a lot of crashes. Just an idea.

Its good enough to play any mission that might have crashed in the past, or even if it didnt, load it up with players and see what happens, record any problems, crashes etc... not need to create special missions. Part of the reason for the beta has to be to watch you guys in your natural habitat... not need to change that.

Exactly. A key aspect of the open beta network testing is to see how 1.2.7 performs "in the wild". As long as the server is very careful to list any and all mods used, that should be fine. If we confine the testing to just missions created by Eagle, there is too great a chance that unaccounted for situations will not arise and thus missed in the open beta testing.

OK so you have updated it for 1.2.7 beta? Where can I download that version?

EDIT: And it is running MIST witch is not an ED product! It's a MOD!

Well, I've never had it crash in v1.2.6 so if it crashes in v1.2.7 I'd say we've found a new bug. ;)

I haven't re-saved it for 1.2.7 but all you need to do is open it in mission editor, click Save As and re-save it. Then it's Open Beta ready. :)

" exceeds 20 players "

Well that is the problem.. we need to find opponents adversaries to activate the interest of many pilots.. same as RoF if no new terrain map are made people loose interest .. if flying aircraft FM not AFM opponents people loose interest . what is the opponent of the P51 ? KA50 ? A10 ? maybe SU25's .. ,

It's a legitimate argument, but with the latest bug fixes and new features it should still spark a decent interest to put MP through it's paces. Once I have mine downloaded and ready to go I will head to the 51st server. There seems to be good numbers on that server a lot of evenings.

Intel i5-9600K @ 3.7GHz; Gigabyte Z370XP SLI Mobo; G.SKILL Ripjaws V Series 64GB (4 x 16GB) 288-Pin DDR4

GIGABYTE GeForce RTX 4080 16GB 256-Bit GDDR6; Thermaltake Water 3.0 Certified Liquid Cooling System

Windows 11 Professional

HP Reverb G2 /TrackIR 5 in case VR dies; Thrustmaster HOTAS Warthog w/ Thrustmaster T-Flight Rudder Pedals

OK, fine, that's something else then "no mods". So if we just list the mods its OK to use them in the beta.

but MiST is not a mod, it is "just" LUA. This should not a problem, because it use the SSE database, too.

Correct. Mist relies 100% on the scripting engine to do all of its functions. However it can impact test results in some areas of the sim by its sheer presence, theoretically the act of observing a test can alter the test results. :music_whistling: If a mission has/requires it, I don't see anything wrong with running that mission but any MP stability issues or whatever should also be tested in a "normal" MP mission. Any mist specific issues should be reported to the mist thread.

The right man in the wrong place makes all the difference in the world.

Also - Grimes was HUGE in helping me work out my extraction team drop-off / pick-up LUA for the mission. Thanks buddy! =)

The mission defaults with 2xUH-60 BlackHawks to perform the extraction. If a user spawns in any of the UH-1H Hueys, the UH-60's don't activate and the UH-1H pilot gets to perform the extraction himself.

Upon landing, a rescue team is spawned out of the Huey from the side closest to the guy you're extracting, they pathfind to him and 'verify his identity' during which time you can take off, fly around, fend off any enemies that may show up, then if you're in the air they'll radio you for pickup (or if you're on the ground they'll just run back over to you), pathfind to your new position and hop on board.

Also intelligently selects which Huey to spawn/despawn from (first to land in either instance) so if Huey 1-1 drops them off and gets shot down it doesn't break the mission when Huey 3-1 lands to pick them all up.

tl;dr: it's a fun mission and perfect for multiplayer stress testing.

1.2.7. engine smoke...

WOW! it looks amazing been waiting a long time to see this implemented in dcs, BIG thanks to all concerned, worth the download for this alone imo...

The module manager has detected all my modules (CA, FC3 BS2,UH-1) except for A-10c. The only cause I can think of is that I purchased A-10c on DVD and all the others from the DCS shop. Is it a known issue that the open beta module manager can't detect modules not bought from the DCS shop?

Apologies if I'm missing something obvious, I've never used the module manager before as I always download the installers.

Hmmm...

I'm not sure if this is entirely fair to you though Grimes... That's a lot of work for a non-dev who has exponentially enhanced the ability of users to develop WAY beyond the ME's capabilities- in a way that has been brought down to the level of the average user (me).

I guess what I'm saying is that it would be nice to see (or at least know of) cooperation between you / Speed and ED.

Perhaps that's already happening... but...

Anyway, not to go off topic but I know some of my highest anticipation revolves around seeing MIST working in harmony through the DCS spectrum (in MP).

(Selfish, I know.)

I just installed the beta, now I´m downloading the modules. Tomorrow I´ll do some thorough "testing". Thanks so far - great update / change log. Love the new GUI click-sound. :)

P. S.: The "copying from ocal sources"-feature during the installation process is very convenient and probably saves a lot of resources.
