Looks closer to 45, what the little the disc moves, but I see your point.

noticed the flares have been moved to the tail section

Will this be the final place for the dispenser?

I never saw a dispenser on that position on the Huey, rather in the begginig of the tail section (close to the baggage compartment).

Usually that position is for another type of device (MLWS) as in the nose section.

Have you tried holding your right or left mouse button down when observing this? I have read of at least 2 other people having this issue.

I've read of this same issue with other aircraft whilst flying online. It must be a DCS World thing. I was online with the A10-C and quite a few folk on there were talking about this same issue

Thanks for the reply! Is there any thought of maybe incorporating this feature in the future?

Also maybe you guys are already aware but with beta 1.2.7 the rotor plane is reacting 90 degrees off of intended. Pushing on the cyclic forward tilts the rotor to the left. Left cyclic gives you aft tilt.

I was under the impression that even though helicopter controls are phased 90 degrees, the actual rotor plane should tilt in the same direction as the cyclic input. Anotherwords, forward stick should tilt the rotor forward since you are effectively controlling the thrust vector about the center of gravity to pitch and roll the aircraft.

This is as it should be... The phenomena is called gyroscopic procession (I think that is the term) Anyway, the controls are built so that moving the cyclic forward will move the swash plate 90 degress either left or right depending on the direction of the rotor blades...

Imagine the first guy that tested their fledgling design not knowing about gyroscopic procession and pushed the stick forward only to have the rotor go LEFT... Bet there was quite a bit of head scratching THAT day!

LOL

This is completely wrong. The Swashplate moves exactly as the cyclic. The connection of the push rods with the blade are the ones that are located 90 degrees off to compensate for the gyroscopic procession...

It's clearly seen in the attached image the 90 degrees offset of the push rod and the blade axis. Can you imagine from the image if this is a clockwise or counterclockwise head? And why?

Not to just echo what Sondo is saying, but as a helo pilot, and someone who loves this sim, I must express again (3rd time this thread I believe) that whatever way you push the cyclic, that is the way the disc is tilted. If you don't believe that, go read 'Heelicopter: Pioneering with Igor Sikorsky.'

The pains Uncle Igor went through with gyroscopic precession are explained thoroughly in detail. Basically, when the first few flights with the VS-300 (IIRC) were attempted, gyroscopic precession was causing the disc to tilt left when the cyclic was displaced forward, and aft when displaced left, and so on. The aircraft went whatever direction the disc was tilted, not the direction the controls were moved. This being very counterintuitive, the A/C designers displaced the input from the swashplate to the rotor blades so that the disc would tilt the direction the cyclic was displaced, solving the problem and making the aircraft much easier to fly.

I'm sure this was just a mistake in the update, and will be remedied in a future update, but I just don't want to see this lauded as a feature, and possibly kept around.

It's already been fixed internally and will be pushed to public in one of the upcoming updates.

Options Panel

How do you bring the Options Panel up in game?

That's awesome if we can make control input changes on the fly instead of having to back out of the game. Or is it just for the AI gunners?

You need to add throttle during engine crank, otherwise she won't start. Only go just above idle though otherwise you may get a hot start.

Hi!

If I assign the SAFE/ARMED Switcher of the flare dispenser to a key or joystick button I hear a clicking sound but it's not arming the fd from SAVE-position. If the fd is armed I can put it to the SAVE-position by keyboard. Anyone else noticed that problem?

I only got around to flying the UH-1H in version 1.2.7 OB in the last couple of days and in fact, I haven't flown the Huey for quite some time.

I was really quite surprised at the amount of work/ number of changers that have gone into this aircraft since 1.2.6. It flies very nicely now and the first iteration of the AI crew is amazing. I see the community has identified a number of bugs and minor glitches to iron out, which will hopefully occur before 1.2.7 release.

Great work on 1.2.7 so far Team Belsimtek. You got me hooked on flying this aircraft all over again.

Have the same issue as 'Mirco91' in post 31...

I can't see the Gunners AI Panel options under UH-1H Sim either... not even under game mode.

Can see under 'Layer', the UH-1H Gunner window, but that option only has 7 choices, of which 4 are to assign buttons to 'moving the site' up / down / left / right.

Followed 'Aldega's advice, deleted the 'UH-1H' (AND Uh-1H Easy' folder) but am still not able to see 'Gunners AI panel' in options menu.

Can't change gunners ROE either, nor turn 'off' crew status...

Anyone have an idea how to get to see Gunners AI Panel?

Ps: used "Update DSC World' from Windows 'Start' to update DSC from 1.26 to 1.27

and rename / move / or delete your UH-1H folder.

Restart DCS go to options controls and UH-1H sim.

remap your controls and click ok

This will generate new inputs for your Aircraft.

and the AI panel should now show
