winchesterdelta1 Posted December 22, 2013 Posted December 22, 2013 I know a better plan for you to support DCS. And make us happy at the same time :) Buy a DCS module every month and give it to somebody on the forums. You will make alot of friends and ED would be happy aswell. I'm a brilliant or am i brilliant :music_whistling:  Go in close, and when you think you are too close, go in closer.
Flogger23m Posted December 22, 2013 Posted December 22, 2013 As someone else said, buy extra copies and give them out. I am sure the increased sales numbers can help to.
Call911 Posted December 22, 2013 Posted December 22, 2013 Thread approval rating...99.9% :D Plan on buyin a copy of the A10C for a friend. Is it better to do it on steam or here in the Ed Store? 1

I don't know. There's an angle there... support ED and the server regulars at the same time. Win. "ENO" Type in anger and you will make the greatest post you will ever regret. Silver_Dragon Posted December 22, 2013 Posted December 22, 2013 Another option more expensive, is convert you on a 3rd partie and create addons, or better (if you have enough money, time, resources, etc) become a Partners / Sponsor (example: Belsimtek / RRG Studios), and pursue open one of the least developed areas of DCS: World. eg: vehicles, vessels, improve battlefield, engaging in civil sector, opening new historical epochs, weather, logistic, new aircraft roles (recon, ASW, AWACS) or help ED to create tools to improve the development, multiplayer, etc. For Work/Gaming: 28" Philips 246E Monitor - Ryzen 7 1800X - 32 GB DDR4 - nVidia RTX1080 - SSD 860 EVO 1 TB / 860 QVO 1 TB / 860 QVO 2 TB - Win10 Pro - TM HOTAS Warthog / TPR / MDF
Supersheep Posted December 22, 2013 Posted December 22, 2013 Technically, transferring is against the EULA. And I'm not sure if you'd only be substituting existing sales from one person to another instead of generating new ones by giving away licences. My suggestion would be to buy ED modules from the dcs.com when they're not on sale. I reckon that that makes the most money stick with ED. The PVC Pipe Joystick Stand How to thread
Darkwolf Posted December 22, 2013 Posted December 22, 2013 (edited) I do have a couple of licence in advance. So when my friend want to test the game and they aren't too much interrested in su25T (which is a flying cow) - They can either come and play on my second computer or they create an account back home, i pass them a serial. If they like it - they buy it - we unbind my key, install theirs, and that's a new DCS users !! :) converted 4 guy and my wife like that - Spread the love :) (well - if that isn't ok with ED- i can stop) Edited December 22, 2013 by Darkwolf [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC] PC simulator news site. sobek Posted December 22, 2013 Posted December 22, 2013 Technically, transferring is against the EULA. No, it isn't. ED have made a database tool speciafically so bought keys can be gifted to someone else. I do have a couple of licence in advance. That you bought? If yes, then there is nothing wrong with that. Good, fast, cheap. Choose any two. Come let's eat grandpa! Use punctuation, save lives!
Supersheep Posted December 22, 2013 Posted December 22, 2013 Thanks Sobek, I completely missed that. The only thing I heard about that was that there was something to get Steam and dcs.com keys to one common account. The PVC Pipe Joystick Stand How to thread

Flogger23m Posted December 22, 2013 Posted December 22, 2013 Keys bought from ED's store are only tied to an account once they are used in game. So if you want to give a module away, have the other person download the module, install it, and then place a mission with that aircraft selected as being flyable. They will then get a prompt when loading the mission for the CD key. Enter the as of now unused CD key. Now it is tied to that account. It is the same with Steam bought CD keys. Gift someone a copy via Steam, copy the CD key in the right menu, load up a non-Steam DCS World install if you so choose, and repeat the process as outlined above.
Wrecking Crew Posted December 22, 2013 Author Posted December 22, 2013 Hee hee -- Give ED money here! :) That got opened in a private browser ^^^ :) LOL --- Another option more expensive, is convert you on a 3rd partie and create addons, I thought about that re my missions, but anybody can make a mission :smartass: --- I really was hoping for a link for donations. Wrecking Crew Posted December 23, 2013 Author Posted December 23, 2013 If I buy three modules in my account from the web store, and unbind them, I can forward the key and purchasing info as Christmas presents. Here's the question -- will my friends be able to use their key in Steam -- or does the purchase need to be made through Steam? WC You can use ED Store keys and unbind them or buy through steam as gift. Keys should work in both Steam and standalone, however if you activate key on Steam then it can`t be unbinded. Merry Christmass, I`m out.

cichlidfan Posted December 23, 2013 Posted December 23, 2013 Your friends will probably not be able to use the keys on Steam right away since ED only sends Steam a database update once a month. Wrecking Crew Posted December 23, 2013 Author Posted December 23, 2013 Very good. My Steam friends will get their copies through Steam. I did get the Huey and CA for a non-Steam pal and was able to Bind my purchases to his DCS account. It took a few minutes for each serial number lookup and re-binding but it all went through.
