Then what's the logic? Having installed 13.12 and 13.9 in the bin folder? Makes no sense. That was my case: 13.9 dll reduced my fps from 30 to 17 then i replaced it with actual driver's dll..I wouldn't know better sorry!

No, you said "If you are running 13.12 putting 13.9 dll's kills it" (I presume you meant putting the 13.9 dll in the bin/ folder) so if that's the case, just removing the dll from the bin/ folder will make DCS revert to using the installed 13.12 driver. Putting the 13.12 dll in the bin/ folder will have the same result but is unnecessary, that's all.

13.9 doesnt contain HD5xxx/HD6xxx Driver Optimizations.

I think DCS with the Updated DX9 Runtimes it's using need 13.6 or higher,

last driver with Legacy optimizations is prolly 13.12, or 13.30.

Legacy Product Driver Updates are quarterly for HD4000 and lower etc etc

However there havent really been any Optimizations for the HD6000 or HD5000 Series Cards in about a year. (with exception to AAA title releases)

So all 13.x drivers would perform the same.

Just have to say the 13.9dll fix worked a treat just had a fly around in the mig29s at low setting except 16Q AA and full texture. With tsaa tree and cockpit shadows and all that enabled and got a fairly stable 50-60fps.

Will try a heavy mission and tweak up the details to see what I can get without sacrificing to many frames.

The extra fps makes landing so much more enjoyable :)

A 30 fps landing is a bum twitcher in comparison for my level of proficiency(read extra low) lol

I should say this is a common test mission and the fps increase is about 20%, -+5 depending on what's being rendered

I installed the 14.1 beta. I had a nice increase in fps.

Sitting in cockpit of A-10C on the Free Flight Black Sea Runway start mission, I used to have 22 fps and 27fps after pressing F2 and F1 again. That was with both 13.9 and the 13.30 beta drivers.

I now have 28 fps before doing the F2 trick and 33 afterwards. I'm using Mustangs Ultra High Visibility mod.

I only have a Sapphire 5770 gfx card. I wasn't expecting any difference in fps with an old card like this but I was happily surprised. No settings were changed in game while doing the comparison.

Any fps gain is welcome with my setup!

Spec:

i5 760 o/c'ed to 3.6GHz

8Gb Ram

Sapphire 5770 graphics card o/c'd to 920/1320MHz

.1, .4, .8 Beta Drivers and .2. 6. 9 WHQL usually contain Updates to Legacy GPUs.

So Far 13.9 Is the winner, 14.1 was fast, but the black flickering shards on the F10 Map and Mission editor (and I think some shadows on the airfield) forced me to put the 13.9s in the /Bin Folder.

I've never tried 13.9, confirmed by the lack of a 13.9 folder in my C:/AMD Extraction folder the installers use, i have every driver but that one, lol.

It worked OK for me with 12.10, in fact it may have been slightly faster but the difference between drivers wasn't really significant enough to say any one was better than the rest (testing with Cold Start in Mozdok, wait until helo is spooled up, looking left-ahead-right):

DCS World:

13.9: 24-35-21

13.12: 25-36-22

12.10: 26-37-22

I tested with ArmA3 as well, although I didn't have the 32-bit 12.10 dll handy at the time so didn't test that.

12.8 - 30fps

13.10 - 29fps

13.9 - 29fps

13.12 - 27fps

sorry guys

seems atiumd64.dll and atiumdag.dll caused the problem - in bin folder

these files give some fps boost but kill the dynamic weather clouds

clouds with standard weather were ok with ati dll files

no clouds with dynaimc weather

FWIW, I'm on 14.2 Beta 1.3 with the 13.9 dll in the bin folder and Dynamic weather generates clouds.

Only because im curious...did anyone figure out why 14.4 gained so much performance?

Don't know what they actually changed, but my GPU usage went from around 60-65 to 95+. Guess it's doing a lot more work.

Hi there, I wonder if this topic is still active...

So I downloaded the latest 14.12 driver, and now, discovering this thread I put the atium dlls in my DCS bin folder, but it seems like it does not work for me...Am I kicking a dead horse?
