  1. Past hour
  2. Right, it's dawning on me. [emoji4] Sent from my SM-A536B using Tapatalk
  3. Thxxx for sharing ! Unknown airport = Wiesbaden AB (ETOU)
  4. Has somebody lately tried efm 2.1.0 + latest hotfixes from github. Just compiled/ merged it into my computer. lets see what happens
  5. I think nowadays with the help of AI models you can pull off most translations, keeping whatever military tone and style you want. I just completed mission 6 today, what a great mission! :0 I was exhausted after the 2nd landing. So fun!
  6. C-101 +It is super stable, even at very slow speeds. Best out of the three for strafing runs. +Fuel for days. -Very under powered, especially if you load it down with fuel. ---It has the absolute worst sound in game. It is borderline unplayable IMO unless you mod the engine growl sound file. L-39 +Does not make your ears bleed. -Has a long standing cockpit model graphics bug. MB-339 +Does not make your ears bleed. -Way too unstable. The smallest stick inputs and the nose bounces all over the place. It's like driving a car with bad struts. Not great for gunnery.
  7. And other 3rd parties? We still dont know.
  8. Normally you have to do nothing.... so we are wondering that @Calabronehas a problem.
  9. 2 things I have upgraded which gave me better performance in DCS was 32 to 64 gig memory, and a 2080 to a 4080. The one thing that IMO didn't give me any noticeable performance gain in DCS was upgrading my CPU, (but it did in other games).

    Nice FM Update

Have you tried dogfighting the other planes like BF109 or FW190 ? Max speed in a straight and level flight is nothing. I'm not a rookie, I have years of experience dogfighting in IL-2.
  11. I think it's pretty clear it doesn't apply to any of the Razbam Modules, seeing as the following is in the first post by 9L: "All modules continue to function 'as is' and despite not receiving any access to source codes or cooperation from Razbam and its external developers, Eagle Dynamics will do its best to ensure that these modules continue to function in 2.9.X.". I would take from that statement that ED does not have access to the source code of any Razbam module, they plainly spell it out.
  12. Today
  13. You'll not have that money for the 5-6 years it'll take to get into a decent shape if it's undercooked so there is absolutely an opportunity cost.
  14. I tried the AN M64 bomb today with a AN M116 5 sec tail fuse and nose plug, dropped from about 300' and it exploded on contact. This fuse is designed to be dropped from mast height, say 100', hence the long delay of 5 or 11 seconds. Something wrong here! ..
  15. oh, really. I just didn't know. Will add it later!
  16. Taking in count ED didnt even expand the Chinook new cargo limited features to the rest of the helicopters, one can tihink is not a top priority.
  17. I just built a system that I'm still in the process of setting up. I went with 96GB of g.Skill RAM and an ASUS TUF RTX 5070 TI OC Edition graphics card. I haven't overclocked anything yet, but I ran a baseline on the graphics card and got a maximum frame rate of 214 with an average of 172 FPS. If you'd like the details on the rest of the system I built, I'm happy to provide them.
  18. Surprised, it wasn't mentioned yet: The A-4 counts to the light attack aircrafts as well. Edit: Ok - perhaps not a typical COIN aircraft...
  19. well, it's not that simple. Actually, I like planes that do their mission. But flying a slow fixed-wing aircraft particularly in DCS is a bit breaking of immersion for me. I'm suffering from lack of sensation of speed in DCS, mostly because of its graphics. So flying something slow like A-10 makes me feeling that I fly helicopter. Flying a helicopter makes me feeling that I fly a hot air balloon. And so on. Same speed values feel different, say, in MSFS.
  20. It's a double-edged sword. Being slow means you don't get on station as fast and you can't reposition as quickly nor can you effectively evade an IR SAM, but it also means you can launch from further out with more confidence and stay out of the reach of ground fire better. And, landing on unprepared strips is done with more confidence. I've done quite a bit light attack stuff in the 39ZA and I've been able to pretty consistently dodge Iglas and Strelas with it, not even needing flares. Having even a little speed you can get from a split-S is pretty nice to have. Having that and also knowing how to terrain-mask can make the lack of countermeasures seem less acute. I'd still take them if I could, of course. This is where something like the OH-58D really comes into its own; using its MMS, it can observe and track a target before using a guided rocket or missile to slap any threats without them ever knowing you were there. So, being slow can be a con in places, but you can definitely offset it with other aspects.
  21. disconnect, then reconnect to server does it show up now ?
  22. You seem to favor the fastest planes...
  23. I've been wishing for these since the Chinook was released. I believe these types of features like animations and modeling has always been low priority for ED. Every feature you've listed would improve immersion ten-fold, but I just don't believe it is high priority for ED. I also believe not all ground units are to scale. Have you tried to drive a HMMV inside the Chinook? It's too big to fit. So, to me this is a core ED wish list and not ASC/3rd Party.
  24. I think I had the benefit of watching that happen, in real time. I remember loving Half Life 1 mods. It seemed like every 2-3 months, there was a new total conversion mod that would drop and it was awesome. When Half-Life 2 dropped, not as many were available. I kept playing lots of HL1 mods, but very little came to HL2 in that time period. I imagine the complexities in art have only grown exponentially and it's why we see games like DUSK and Amid Evil do so damn well. And, now increase the coding complexities tenfold and you have a flight sim!
  25. Sounds like the Encoder acceleration option is set on full blast in SimApp
  26. added to the post. Actually, should "slow" be considered as a weakness in light attack/cas/coin scenario? It seems rather the opposite. The ability to fly slow is rather a feature.
  27. A cautionary tale to be sure. Honestly the Kickstarter video explains the history and reality of making these games today very well. More people should watch that before judging sims today as not having enough content or taking too long to finish. Comparing them to games of the past that were exponentially less expensive to create.
