Hi, BrassEm. How much giga bytes do you want to reduce in uninstalling jet modules ? Each of those jet modules use 2 or 3 giga bytes. Even the four modules are uninstalled correctly, new free disk space maybe only 10 giga bytes. Those free space / used size can be checked by Windows default explorer's indicator or its folder properties. Uninstalling airplane modules is not so effective to get free disk space. Bigger disk spaces are required by terrain modules. Old terrains Nevada or Persian Gulf use around 30 giga bytes for each. Current developing terrains (Afghanistan / Iraq / Kola / CWG) use from 80 giga bytes to 160 giga bytes. Uninstalling a terrain module will give you bigger free space easily ...

After so many years, radio and comms still not working
Rudel_chw replied to primus_TR's topic in General Problems
On the mig, the battery does not power the radio, you need to ask the ground crew to connect external power, then you can use the rafio with the engine off. -
The 5800X3D is no longer sold new, but you may be able to get a decent deal for it second hand. A 5700X3D should perform similarly in most games. Having very many cores is not so beneficial for games, while the X3D-cache has a big benefit. An alternative is to upgrade to AM5, getting a cheapish AM5-motherboard, 64 GB of DDR5-6000 and a 7600X. For example, like this: https://pcpartpicker.com/list/TykKdH DCS can really benefit from 64 GB of RAM, and by going to AM5, you are not spending more money on an obsolete platform. A big benefit of that route is that you later on do another big upgrade to a much faster X3D-CPU and get a big boost. The 7600X is about as fast as a 5700X3D/5800X3D, but where the latter is the end of the line, you can later on replace that 7600X with a 9800X3D or a future generation X3D-chip. That new motherboard also has PCIe 4, so that means that it can use faster NVMe's and is more futureproof with regard to the PCIe speed for the GPU. PS. It is absolutely not necessary to get an AIO cooler. Not sure what cooler you have on there (the stock one??), but there are very good air coolers for amazingly low prices, like the one that I specced in my build. These are more reliable and longer lasting than AIOs. Of course, regardless of air cooling or AIO, you need decent airflow into the case.

4090, 7800x3d, 64gig ddr5@6600. Pimax Crystal Light at 72hz native res. I'm using quad views, DLSS, crop2FOV (just a little, so that its not noticeable) Quite new to DCS so please bare with me. Using the Normandy 2 map quick assess free flight to bench. Getting just under 20% headroom dropping to and 10-12% on the deck. Load up a Mission Normandy with the WWII assets and the thing tanks, depending on how much furniture is on the deck some times 40-50 FPS!. Once in the sky it sorts out even with a good flight company 10-15 birds, till coming across a swarm and this causes issues but not so much as the ground assets. So; The LOD slider makes a massive difference, does this just apply to the ground assets? It does not seem to effect the distance a plane comes into view, but more testing on this to do.

How wonderful it would be if a Ki-43 were to arrive at DCS. Although the Zero fighter is well known today, during the war, the Hayabusa was more famous in Japan. Currently, there is one Hayabusa aircraft remaining in its original condition that is still capable of flight. Although flight data may not be available, it is one of Japan's most powerful air forces. Above all, it is one of the Japanese aircraft that could rival the Zero fighter. I prefer the sleek design of army aircraft to the design of navy aircraft such as the Zero fighter.

Hello, I’ve last week finished my mission making for the T-45C, it goes like this: however, I’ve not returned to the Mig-21 as in the meantime the Corsair caught my attention and I’m editing some missions for it. but today M3 has shown signs of intending to fix some of the -21 bugs, if this turns out into an actual patch I promise to return to the -21 sooner

Please try reinstalling—it should resolve the issue. We’ve already had several DCS users test this hotfix patch.

There’s a 14-day trial period to test the headset, and you don’t need to pay the full amount upfront.
