Magdeburg training ground. Mission for the Mi-24 and Mig-21.
ASW replied to ASW's topic in DCS: Cold War Germany
I found a landfill in Germany. It is called the Bergen-Hohne Training Area. In the near future, we plan to file a mission for the F-4E and SA-342. I will add the possibility of using the F-16C, AH-64D and CH-47F. For example, the landing of troops behind enemy lines on a CH-47F under the cover of F-16, AH-64D. All units on the training ground, as in the previous mission, will be of a "random" level. In order for the mission to always go differently and be unpredictable. It will also be possible to summon different groups of allies and opponents through the radio menu. There will also be hidden enemy groups that can be activated during the battle, depending on the development of the situation. I made a short video today from the Bergen-Hohne Training Area. -
Awesome stuff Just don’t fall into the habit of setting cowl/oil flap positions and memorizing them. They need constant attention while eyeballing your instruments during a scan. Adjust them as necessary to keep the temps good. You can be conservative and leave them open more than needed if you aren’t worried about drag and fuel consumption, otherwise you want to close them a tiny bit at a time, wait a minute, see what the temps are doing, and minimize drag as much as desired. Also, the checklists call for 2400 RPM for landings … if the realism matters to you. What’s most important though is finding what works best for you and sticking with it I’m glad you got your bird running nicely. Cheers! …edit: Also, don’t memorize MP for landing. Adjust throttle for desired descent rate. Use elevator trim to adjust desired landing speed (90kts-ish). You should be hands-off on the elevator stick for final approach. The elevator trim will keep the plane locked in at your airspeed. If you are coming up short or sinking too fast, the correct remedy is throttle, not elevator.

Hope you enjoy another Su-22 mod showcase, despite replay for external views being buggy and me missing some missile shots. This time, most of the cockpit is clickable, it has proper cold start, custom sounds for engine or launch authorised and more! Everything is still work in progress, estimated release Q4 2025.

RPMs are a bit high, should be between 2300-2400 for landing.

ASW replied to ASW's topic in
Bergen-Hohne Training Area. -

What I see right now is that FC aircraft like F-15C are still used on the servers which I am currently flying. Radar modes in the FC F-15C e.g. are for sure not as "detailed and correct" as in the real F-15C. So there is already a difference, but people still love to fly the FC F-15C, including me and buddies of mine. I am sure there are people available in Sweden to help getting the basic radar modes working in a sort of FC-level JA37, but it seems no one is really willing to dig into. "Also, I think a too simplified JA 37 would lose some of the stuff that makes the JA 37 interesting, like the autopilot assisted gun mode." I think so too, not only because of one certain missing thing, but it could happen during the course of the journey that the information becomes somehow "known".

Especially frustrating is the justification that they're modelling a specific type of F-5 at a specific point in time. That's an excuse and not an explanation: Nothing's stopping them from having the F-5 represent several types of F-5 if they so chose. I'd love Mavericks.

Yes please. It's especially frustrating that this wasn't adressed in the visual upgrade. There are plenty of sources out there for how it looks in reality.

AI Dive Bombing Issues: They roll-in nice from 12-14,000 feet, pull through to a good dive angle and onto the target, very sharp. Then they undershoot the dive angle/target, pull off target, and climb back to altitude. Several times. Veteran/Ace pilots. Please advise. Bowie -
