Light attack aircraft for counter-insurgency mission
Stratos replied to Supernova-III's topic in DCS 2.9
One of the best COIN aircraft for DCS If not the best is the FREE mod of the Ov-10 Bronco, is slow yes but can carry lot of stuff, both A-G and some Winders, can loiter for a lot of time, easy and fun to fly, and you can land anywhere, like in dirt paths. Give it a go, seriously. DCS could be a great platform for COIN, but they really need to improve this three things, in order of importance. - Infantry behavior, including suppression and cover taking. Also new models and weapons are really needed, like soviet infantry machine gunner!! - More COIN useful enemy weapons, including the very common Sa-7 MANPAD and light caliber MG's like the ZPU or the DShK (not the one we have on pick up trucks). I use the low digit SAM mod for the Sa7 and have a ZPU-2 almost ready to release. - Fire bombs man! After all this years we don't have them, and there are lots of fire bombs we can use in COIN scenarios. -
Light attack aircraft for counter-insurgency mission
MiG21bisFishbedL replied to Supernova-III's topic in DCS 2.9
I really need to play with the C-101CC more in CAS/COIN operations. The 339's performance is upfront and pretty stellar in that kind of mission and I've spent enough time with the L-39 to come to grips with its requirements, too. @Supernova-III Will you include the A-7 Corsair when that drops? That was, at least according to the US Navy, a 'light attack' platform. -

Oh, you have to do everything from the Steam console? How are you notified when new free DLCs are added then? You manually must find them and add them? [emoji848] Phew! Happy I never went that way then. [emoji6] Sent from my SM-A536B using Tapatalk

MAXsenna started following DCS WWII 1944 Kickstarter: A Tragedy in 3 Acts , Snaps views resetting , VR pilots bodies? and 2 others

Aaaahh! I completely misunderstood! (Interpreted it as question, my bad). Make a copy before you start DCS, and check the file creation date/time if somehow the file gets deleted. Or file change date/time to see when the file gets changed. Never heard if this issue before to be honest. Sent from my SM-A536B using Tapatalk

need track replay Throttle at max power at hot start on the ground
MAXsenna replied to Logan54's topic in MiG-29 for DCS World
Right, so you didn't have it as slider before. Anyway, a throttle is a slider, so keep it as slider. Only sticks/pedals should be non-sliders. Everything else like throttles, collectives, volume knobs, toe brakes etc. should be sliders. I assume from your first post that you have tried the "sync with HOTAS at mission start" setting. What throttle do you have? Have you checked for axis conflicts in the affected modules? It's not clear from your posts. Should have been my first question to be honest. Cheers! -

It wouldn't be a flight sim discussion if someone wasn't diving for the fainting couch. -
Would it be possible to have a little official clarification on whether not the 'HAWK Clause' does or does not apply to any Razbam-made modules? Or is in general applicable or not?

Seeking Former Military Pilots or CFIs for a DCS Project Collaboration
Hiob replied to DeltaChangoAlpha's topic in Chit-Chat
Well, you definitely sparked curiosity! Personally, I can't help you, since I'm not an actual aviator or anything related - but as a consumer, I will certainly keep an eye open for any progress of your project. Good Luck! -
This works for me, it simply isn't in the Auto start anymore so you do it yourself when auto start is complete, thanks for this, I would have never spotted the switch there!

Light attack aircraft for counter-insurgency mission
Kang replied to Supernova-III's topic in DCS 2.9
The C-101CC certainly is a light attack aircraft and if I'm not mistaken it has been used in that role sporadically. What I think Silver_Dragon wanted to point out was, that the C-101 per se was never really meant to be such, why it it can feel a little lackluster in its performance. -
I have one mission that generates a complex menu using scripts, it works as designed in SP and local MP but when launched in a dedicated server, the menus are no generated correctly. Both, client machine and dedicated server, are at the same patch level. No errors in the DCS log and bread crumb tracing indicates that the menus are generated in the same way in both computers...This is how is should look and how it looks in SP & local MP: Now, this is how it looks in the Dedicate Server: Now, I have done some testing (simplified mission, different map) that seems to indicate that this is not a general DCS MP bug but an issue related either with the mission or my dedicated server, but I ran out of ideas at the moment of what to check or how to troubleshoot further, so , if you have any ideas or pointers, please, let me know.

I did not make myself clear... I am well aware that "Snapviews for maps" doesn't exist, what I was trying to convey was that my saved snapviews sometimes get erased / resettet / reverted to defaults without any intervention from my part. Again: this issue happens sometimes with the Corsair and Marianas WWII, often after a Training mission. but also with other airplanes, especially on the Marianas modern map. I did not notice this issue on other maps. Hope so it is clear what I mean.... Anybody having also this issue?

investigating Petrovich cannot see targets on Cold War Germany map
Flappie replied to grusche's topic in Bugs and Problems
Thank you very much. In your mission, units are close to high buildings. Petrovich can't find them when I flew to the West. He finds them as soon as I fly to the East. I'll send my track to devs. -
I understand, and thanks for pointing that out. Just to clarify — the NDA I mentioned isn’t about real‑world procedures or classified information. It’s simply to make sure that what I share about my project remains private while it’s in development. I even wrote it as a mutual agreement, so I also commit to not disclosing anything that’s told to me. That said, since the academy project is meant to be publicly available once complete, I understand how including an NDA at this stage could be misinterpreted. I’ll adjust my approach to avoid confusion. Thanks again for helping me navigate the community guidelines.

Light attack aircraft for counter-insurgency mission
Supernova-III replied to Supernova-III's topic in DCS 2.9
well, I am focused on those 3 I mentioned in the post. We don't have anything else in DCS that can be considered a light aircraft. I would really love to see A-29 some day, but you know... -
No worries, generally people wont sign NDA's unless it is for work related activities, as NDA's can be very restrictive. And active or former military pilots are still under their respective secrecy acts. We also have very strict rules about sharing real world information here, and DCS only uses public data and information. thanks bignewy

Light attack aircraft for counter-insurgency mission
Raven (Elysian Angel) replied to Supernova-III's topic in DCS 2.9
Just think a second on why the US went with a glorified crop duster for their new platform: It's light, can takeoff and land pretty much anywhere, can loiter for ages, has 3-4 different sensors on it, APKWS and LGBs, … Light attack is basically an armed ISR platform for low-intensity combat. -
You don't find available in the module manager? Try to open the MM, select maps/theatres or whatever it's called. It should be there. Cheers! Sent from my SM-A536B using Tapatalk

Please read again what @Dragon1-1 wrote. He did not mentioned M3 at all. He mentioned other sims that predates DCS. And he also writes that if ED makes a Zero, it will be epic. Ain't it always. -
