  3. That's Great That's Make Sense It's like make Vietnam map and not focusing on airbase and airfields in Thailand.
  4. You can’t have both, unless you expect ED to rework the entire lighting system again - basically undoing everything they did since 2.7 And that would force 3rd parties to rework their cockpits too…
  5. Thanks for the feedback everyone, it is very helpful. We are taking notes of the bugs as well. The behavior is correct. The AOA in the HUD is UNITS of AOA, not degrees. It is an arbitrary unit calculated on configuration and shows relative lift. This is a similar concept for most Navy aircraft. Check out the F-14 and it will also not show degrees AoA but Units AoA. There are also T-45 HUD tapes on YouTube that show the AoA behavior
  6. Well. Which aircraft? F-16? Which top left counter are you referencing? The LAlt+Left mouse button trick? Did you make sure you entered the steerpoints in the correct format? And did you also set the correct altitude? Do you have a track so we can see what you are trying to achieve? And besides that, why use that and not just simply TACAN?
  7. Pretty sure the artifacts are caused by a mask you can switch off in settings. I see them too with it on.
  8. https://www.digitalcombatsimulator.com/en/files/3347594/ I wanted to bring something slightly new to the Training table, to both help the novice F-4U pilot as well as to aid as a handy refresher. So here it is. A fully illustrated Training mission from beginning to finish, hundreds of interactive plates covering Shore Start Up, Take Off, Shore Landing & Shutdown, Carrier Take Off, Carrier Landing & Shutdown, Readying Weapons & How to use the YEZB Navigation Radio. It also has a basic Airfield Ground Attack mission, with & without an Wingman. It can be flown solo or in Co Op. It's ideal for VR users. The Plates will appear onscreen & disappear when the particular step has been completed etc. It's a great way to learn the ways around the aircraft in real time. Also features custom ai voiceovers & a period Naval Air Squadron music score in places. I've left the mission unlocked so the user can 'tinker' to their likings if needed. The player skins depicting 738 NAS were created by 'keefyboy'.
  9. Well Flappie how did that chat go? I'm guessing one way as law and behold as testing anything to do with the NS430 getting a 10-15% drop when in any of the nav or waypoint pages. The control page for testing is AUX, then see the dips as you select the pages from there. In its current state, along with the missing comm's feature, missing data points, missing airfields even, no updated sid/stars on any map since PG, missing F10 presentation for navigation it really is a box of spanners. The worst affected page for performance drop, you'll never guess, nothing to do with with the terrain page being diplayed, the Sat position page drops by 20%. Make this make sense, all GPU load according to the ingame dev page. Note this does not need a track file or log to post - after discussions online across a multitude of hardware and setup's everyone is reporting the same. @NineLine @BIGNEWY @Wags Please can someone explain why so much of the NS430 has been left untouched, without response and with zero feedback for the customers that have been trying hard to assist with the EA Process. We see posts on here, with valid bugs with not so much as a thank you, sometimes in excess of 5 years. Wags i never include you on posts but given the dereliction of not replying hoping you can add this to your long list, given its fresh release with the Mig 29. It is hard to recommend anyone buys the add in, for VR or standard given the state of play. With the launch of the Mig29, this should have had a clear brush up, with the core module and cleared the development backlog. This is not a case of an EA product, but something long established into the game. The Module as it stands is being misleading at the point of sale for many reasons. Note this is constructive feedback and just seeking general answers and would rather seek them hear than have the conversation elsewhere outside of ED moderation.
  10. It would be nice to have the clear tint option in order to keep the JHMCS but not have to play with the gamma settings.

  12. Today
  13. Hi all-- Lately I've been getting the same intermittent freezes that others have reported -- i.e., not stuttering or micropauses, but a complete image freeze that continues for anywhere from 5 to 30 seconds. During these freezes, audio continues to play but other world activity seems to stop, and at the end the simulation continues (interestingly, I have not had DCS crash). These are reliably associated with the usual pair of opaque entries in dcs.log that everyone reports ("ModelTimeQuantizer: ANTIFREEZE ENABLED", followed within ~0.2ms by "ModelTimeQuantizer: SAME MODEL TIME"). It doesn't happen every session, it doesn't seem to matter whether I restart DCS (or my computer) between sessions, and it doesn't seem to follow any particular pattern that I can see (happens across multiple aircraft in scenarios of varying sizes, though I'm mostly flying very simple sorties with few objects). I've tried different suggestions that people have made (here, on reddit threads, etc.), but so far no luck. I did want to share a data point that might be helpful to those of you who are smarter than I am on this stuff. Today I was getting freezes while in one of the AH-64 basic tutorial missions, so I alt-tabbed out to desktop, opened the Task Manager, and just watched. At this time the simulation was in active pause waiting for me to hit the spacebar to advance the tutorial; I was in VR watching the Task Manager. At this time Task Manager showed CPU utilization at ~30%, RAM at ~52%, and GPU at ~60%; VRAM utilization looked to be about 66%; nothing special showed up in the process list. Every few minutes the simulation would freeze. While frozen, GPU utilization spiked to 98%. CPU did not increase (it actually fell to 20%, presumably waiting on the GPU), VRAM did not change, Task Manager process list did not change. Of the GPU tasks, it was the "3D" task that accounted for all of the increase (I'm on a Quest 3 using Virtual Desktop and the video encode/decode tasks remained the same). What's interesting to me is that I was not interacting with the sim (though it continued to track my head position). Indeed, DCS did not appear to be doing very much at all -- it was waiting in active pause during a gunnery training mission (a few infantry units are waiting on an airfield to be shot with 30mm). But despite all this, obviously DCS was doing something in the background that overloaded the GPU's "3D" thread and brought everything to a stop. Then, like magic, it would all come back (sometimes the VR view would spin and shudder for a few seconds before it recaged), and the numbers would return to a steady state. This went on repeatedly, until I thought I had seen enough and ended the mission. I don't know if Task Manager's reporting is reliable, or what any of this means. But I thought it might be useful to those of you who are better informed. I've also attached my dcs.log in case there are more clues there, though I don't need any individualized analysis at this point (so don't feel obligated). Hopefully someone can get to the bottom of this soon! Intel i7-13700KF, 32GB DDR5, WD Black SN770 NVMe, RTX 4090/latest drivers, Quest 3/Virtual Desktop, assorted Winwing gadgetry. 14. I'm trying to use Steerpoints as Waypoints to a runway. In DCS map (F10), I'll use the pointer and the corresponding Lat/Lon on the top left of page as my data to create Steerpoints, usually three. Theoretically, I can fly to Steerpoint (Waypoint) 10, then 11, the to the beginning of the runway - 12. I'll also setup the TACAN for that particular airport/runway. It's helpful for me get aligned and configured far enough out and not have to worry about overshooting the ILS. Problem: When I try to fly the Steerpoints, I don't end up where I'm supposed to be. I should end up at the beginning of the runway. Steerponts programmed to AUTO. I've tried this a few times at a couple different airfields. A-A and A-G off BTW: I've started creating Steerpoints from the map (F-10) before I take off. I'll use 10 - 19 for airport navigation, 20 - ? for targets.
  15. I note some airfields don't have the ICAO code on the F10 map when you click on it, and sure enough they don't appear in the NS430....
  17. This is an older problem that was supposed to be fixed in 2024, but it's still a thing.
  18. The quick action generator is nice, but it lacks so much of what made the instant action generator great. The quick action generator when compared to the instant action generator misses out on large scale operations true randomness and the ability to take your mission, generate it then quickly pull it up into the expanded mission editor. I think I see that the approach with the quick action generator is to make people move towards the full mission editor but I think it discourages it and with the quick action generator what you can do is sooo limited, for what reason can I not have a ground attack mission and have the threat of enemy aircraft? why can I not play as CAS and protect friendly units? this was all possible long ago when the instant action generator was around so what has changed that we now have such limited options, there is less customization and a lack of a connection to the mission editor when the instant action and mission editor coexisted and worked together as a system. I believe that even just a quick button to pull up your generated mission in the editor would vastly enhance the user experience and allow for more creative unique battles without having to start from scratch even just letting players create a small mission to build off of. The addition of several presets almost, we already have but what about a mission option which lets you choose enemy aircraft and friendly aircraft and ground units all at once?
  19. Veramente c'è scritto che la EA è prevista per fine 2026

  23. And looking at the screenshots from Sturup (Malmo Airport) there has been way to much effort put into this civilian airport. All the civilian buildings look rather much as IRL, it would never have been used in a cold war scenario accept as as an emergency landing location. I realized that Kastrup (the Copenhagen main civilian airport) is also on the list for some reason. Please dont spend time on doing that with a lot of detail either, it has not been used by the danish air force since the 30:ies and temporarily just after the second world war. It is a large civilian airport that will take a lot of time modelling. As this is not MSFS 2024, just add it with some rather generic hangars? Put the time on Skrydrup as Karup and Aalborg is too far off map. Skrydrup had F-16 A during late cold was and would be nice to include. If you should do any base in Sjaelland I guess it would be Vaerlœse. But please, don't spend too much time on Kastrup for the same reason as Sturup. They are 99% civilian airports. I assume a Soviet attack on Denmark and southern Sweden would have not have Kastrup (Copenhagen) and Sturup (Malmö) on the target prio list at all, even though they are big airfields.
  24. I agree 100%!!!! Or else I see a lot of people don't buying the new map. They would like it to be 100% accurate. So with this historical airfield included to fly from.
  25. Rob let me know if you manage to get it to work! Thanks a lot.
