??? Circa 2/3rds of the fighter production in 44’ were for 109s and the Luftwaffe will have been only too well aware that fighters outfitted with additional cannons to shoot down bombers, are going to struggle in a dogfight, which I assume is why the fighters were told to avoid allied fighters and focus on the bombers.

Recently, I noticed that the performance of the MK84 has been greatly improved, and then I tried the Walleye II with a similar weight. I found that Walleye II didn't seem to show obvious changes.

If there is anything official, we will share it in the first post here. Right now there is a lot of noise, I have asked for some clarification so if/when we have some we will share, otherwise we are still in the same holding pattern.

Looking for a Warthog stick extension..
sharkfin61 replied to sharkfin61's topic in 3D Printing for DCS
Thanks to both of you Nightdare and _Hoss. @Nightdare, if I had it manufactured as a single product by my needs, I'm sure, I would cost me a fortune over here in ole' Europe (expec. with the "wonderful" tarrifs nowadays ). But a very interesting website, indeed. @_HossUnfortunately the Thrustmaster extensions are not really what I am looking for. I already fly with a straight 4" extension from Sahaii, but I had to bring the Warthog base to level with a plastic tube. On the other hand, the long extensioon seems to be rather for choppers. Your's _Hoss looks very close to what I'm looking for (200mm curved). Will take my stroll on ebay now. -

waiting for resolution ED/RAZBAM Situation Info & Discussion
Neil Gardner replied to NineLine's topic in RAZBAM
I just read a statement thar appeared on Facebook. Didn’t know whether it was official or not, or contemporary. I have a strong dislike for Facebook, don’t go on there a great deal and consequently saw a notice that seemed official saying that talks had broken down and that was that, but then lost it and can’t find it anymore, As I day, I’ve no idea whether it is worth taking seriously, wondered if anyone can through any light on it. -
I agree with the engine sounds. I've heard a Corsair start up and fly but I've never sat in a cockpit. I imagine it should sound a lot more gutteral. Hopefully that will improve. To be honest I find the P-47 a bit disappointing with sound.

The latest models from ED have the model itself encrypted, making it impossible to open them using the current Model Viewer 2 for DCS. This complicates creating repaints and finding the right textures, and doesn't allow for quick previews. Since encryption is becoming standard and we already have at least a few models using it, when does ED plan to update the Model Viewer to make it compatible with their models? Currently, unfortunately, there is a lack of consistency here, something was introduced without adapting the rest to it. The MiG-29 is coming out soon, and the same problem will likely arise. Pretty please. Btw. There has been a lot of talk about this in various topics, but I don't see it on Wishlist.

I'm attempting to use the M-4 on a certain mission in a certain campaign (don't want to give out any spoilers). I understand Left Alt +C to get rid of the mouse cursor, mouse button 2 to aim etc. So while trying to get the autopilot to fly an orbit, which I don't understand how to tell the AP to orbit a specific point other than telling it to make a left/right hand turn, which turns into a cluster, I am attempting to aim the M4 but cannot get the M4 site to line up with my eye if you will. So I can't really look down the sight. Not sure if its something with using IR Track or what. So having said all of that, sure that was clear as mud, any tips on aiming the M4 by looking down the sight instead of just pointing and hoping its pointing at a target?

There's definitely some issues with the flight model, which may get some fixes in the next patch. She seems to be a bit draggier than she ought to be, and ADI may not be working properly, which robs you of about 250hp (I've never seen MAP consistently hit the 60in you're supposed to get on WEP).

OpenXR Toolkit 1.3.8 still usable as stand alone (not Steam)
Qcumber replied to StratosFalcon's topic in Virtual Reality
I prefer not to use ASW and keep to 72 FPS. It is not often that it drops below this. I sometimes use ASW when flying low over big cities etc but it is still smooth. It might be worth comparing systems. I set up a method for analysing frame times in VR. If you try running some tracks without Turbo and see how the frametimes look. Or you could just record them and send the XRFrametool data files to me and I can add them to the spreadsheet. If you then send me your DCS track I can play it on my system and compare. -
That is probably about right. AFAIK Those available fighters units during the Battle of Normandy where, 1/JG1, I/JG26, II/JG26, and III/JG26. Only III/JG26 operated Bf-109's the other three FIGHTER units flew FW-190's with 1/SKG10 as the ONLY ground attack unit also Operating FW-190G8's and FW190G3's. The bulk of the Luftwaffe Air Superiority Fighter capability was placed upon the FW190 which of course is a fighter that can't fight.....right.

I tested what happens if you deploy manoeuvre flaps at 350k. The slats don't deploy and the flaps quickly retract themselves. So that rules out me hitting the button by mistake and doing damage. I'm at a loss. I guess it's either a random mechanical failure (which I've always had selected in the menu, but not sure is implemented), or a bug.

That is a crap translation. "Greifbare möglichkeiten" means AVAILABLE CAPABILITIES. It is not some speculative document on hopeful wishes. It is a document that came out of Travel Report Bengelmann 1-44 about a visit to BMW Munich from January 27 to February 5, 1944. It is simple clarification of the current state of the engines increased performance ALREADY approved and in use. Again, everybody thought that C3-Einspritzung would be the boost system for ALL FW-190's at ALL altitudes due to SS+GL and BC+XO running with just straight manifold pressure increases for the entire C3-Einspritzung test. BMW was getting calls from units wondering what the status was and why the upgrade kits were missing the entire supercharger injection portion of C3-Einspritzung. Example: "Hey Fritz, I thought there was supposed to be a whole assembly to inject fuel into the supercharger intake. It seems to be missing from those kits we got. "No, Herman, it is just a hose that puts a controlled leak into the supercharger bleed air line. You open the leak by pulling the cable." "Oh, Okay Auf Wiedersehen." The DECEMBER 1943 Operating Instructions incorporates C3-Einspritzung as it had already been in use for almost a year before the "Quickly Realisable" baloney translation. This is the result of the anticipation of C3-Einspritzung successful testing at all altitudes and approval for use. Fw-190 Part 7.pdf

default.dtc that is loaded automatically when found by DCS
darkman222 replied to darkman222's topic in DTC Wish List
Thanks. Although I dont fly the F18 it seems to work the same in the F16. Well it does not to break IC. Thats basically the same we had years ago when we modified the old CMDS.lua which then started to break IC. I would not wonder if it starts breaking IC at some point again. It works for me, and just brings back what we already had, back then. I hope we get the functionality to set up MFD pages next. I dont mind to go through different LUA files to set stuff up. But thats clearly not the point, and also not user friendly. Especially not because thats the reason we got the DTC. 99% of the time you want to have the same CMDS and MFD setup. That could be in the default DTC for a standard quick action public server sortie. (Not talking about Comms and WPT though) I was quickly looking through the lua files if I could find something to change the default MFD setup- but that does not seem to be integrated yet. Not even in the LUA files. -
Question, if we're not going to be able to open the aircraft in the model viewer, could a commented description.lua be provided for livery artists to at least make our lives a little easier? We can't generate one if we can't open the model, so we'd be taking a stab in the dark and having to go off of ones that are just... in the other skins and they don't always have everything listed that can be modified nor do they always have explanations for what everything does.

Many thanks. I disabled the launcher, so maybe if I enable it again I will get this option before Steam VR starts up. Will let you know if this works. Happy landings, Talisman Thanks. Could be last resort. Probably sounds daft, but I am not sure I have the understanding or confidence to try this though. Happy landings, Talisman
