  2. The problem with "get good" is that it requires i+1 structure, i.e. you level up through challenges that are calibrated to your current skill level. Most PvP games do not have a leveled system that facilitates this, and there's enough people on the internet who leveled up through survivorship bias that public opinion is skewed towards "just get good" without recognizing the very real cognitive mechanisms that involve "getting good."
  3. Hello Drivers and Developers, For some reason, I cannot seem to get a neutral party aircraft to land on a specific airfield that's also designated as a Neutral. Parking is assigned, and the fuel is set to about 50% for MLOW. What am I doing wrong?
  4. I know this is a hell of a necro-post, but do you have a source on the validity of USAF F-4E's carrying AIM-7M or P? Also, the USAF Phantom inner pylons were never wired or set up for Sparrow, so I'm not entirely sure where that last point comes from.   5. They went all out on the tigermeet liveries this year. Pure works of art. Recreating them in DCS is 100s of hours of work unless someone has access to the raw art files. It won't be me but there are some really complex liveries on user files so someone might be crazy enough to take them on.
  6. There was a significant amount of noise about it, and it was a significant change. Iron bombing feels quite good now. Very enjoyable. LGB's can be placed amongst a group of vehicles like a SAM site. Possible to destroy an entire SAM site with one or two well placed bombs.

А есть такое слово "РЕАЛЬНОСТЬ". Тебе тут несколько человек уже пытается доказать что в авиации не всё по документам - но ты как упертый .... всё равно тычешь своими беспонтовыми бумажками.. Да всем на..ть на них. Если для тебя "Выцветший" - это ЦВЕТ, то ок, мы дальтоники... И лётчики которые проходят регулярно ВЛК и летают на этих МиГах - тоже дальтоники. Видимо врачи которые их проверяют - тоже раздолбаи. Только "Дикий котик" не дальтоник и живёт исключительно по ОСТам) Гуляй короче)

  12. Knock on wood, I think I solved it thanks to chatgpt. The problem was that I sent the encode resolution to 3664, which is pretty high, it needs constant good bitrate, but at the same time I enabled dynamic bitrate and maximized it at 250 - not enough! So now I set the resolution to 2880, disabled dynamic bitrate, and set the bitrate to 300. So far so good!

It is a bit off... when level (no pulling G's) it overshoots a bit, aims tad ahead of the target... but when in turn (pulling higher G's) it undershoots (see my screenshot, looks like good aim but you can see tracers going way behind the aircraft. I figured out why often I see tracers going to the left of the target, its because the aircraft pulls to the left as you start firing that cannon, so I figured I have to aim to the right side of the aircraft instead of the center.
  14. Issue persists. After engine damage, engine remains at 50% in external view. Cockpit instruments show 0%, rotor is stopped. Engine still makes noise and ground crew report that engine needs to be shut down. Fire button doesn't shut it down, neither does draining all the fuel. Would be nice if this got resolved sometime soon. it's been 3 years.
  15. As far as quirks and details, the other day I got a little hamfisted throwing the jet around with the damper off to try to do a mini-cobra and compressor stalled the engines. Was a pleasantly unexpected unpleasant surprise. One engine re-lit with the auto restart, the other wouldn't catch and I had to put it in Cut-off then do a single engine emergency landing.
  16. I would've recommended the Huey too as a starter, but it seems he already got the Gazelle, so I focused on that.
  17. Update. Both sides have been assembled.. And jeez this thing is big, I keep going back to the 3d model and taking measurements in case there was a mistake.. . Cause I am using a next level gaming seat I have to raise the sides up by approx 95mm (can use the adjustable feet to help). So I am building shaped platforms either side (that's tomorrow's job, along with other things). Also trying to work out how I will get in and out of the pit, as I currently have a banged up knee. Options are to hinge the left side just past the throttle, or remove the last rib and try and slide into the seat from there (seat is currently in it's most backwards position). I am thinking I will make a hinge for easy access. Happy to take thoughts on this.

I thought the problem was something like that because I had been pretty lax in following correct landing procedures (you were the most helpful to me in pointing that out to me btw, so I thank you for that). But since then , I have been very careful about landing procedures ,including putting the gear down first before any flaps. Now I feel really certain though that this problem is caused by a software bug. When this happens to me, the severe right roll is apparent as soon as I spawn into the mission (it's an airs spawn mission that I made for myself to practice landings) . Whenever I get this severe right roll, I know that only one gear will come down. It happens only once in a great while, although I have had it happen a couple of times in a row. Another weird thing I have noticed is that when this happens, the track of it flickers. All my other tracks don't flicker like that.

  20. Yes usually you get Jester saying “closing the canopy” as it closes. Or you used to a couple months ago last time I did a single seat cold start.
  21. On the Visual ID side. That’s what the Camera is for. If only you could tell jester to zoom in. Also yes, looking at a 32” flat screen image is nothing at all like actually looking at a real airplane at a distance in the real world. It’s impossible to reproduce properly on an LCD screen. Just the lack of collimation makes it impossible to tell Speck on the canopy, vs Distant aircraft, vs sneeze residue on the screen itself. To say nothing of the flattening of highlight in even a HDR display due to the rendering systems used. And unfortunately that also applies to OLED VR. The best the current render pipelines can manage is to recreate a fairly nice small format camera image. Even with ray tracing, it just can’t handle real light at a distance right. TLDR, use at least dots if not labels because it just can’t do reality justice.
  22. This is going to be a simple solution and I’m gonna feel stupid But on wolf packs normandy multiplayer all my squad mates can select a drop tank for our 109s My options are SC250 or SC500 Why can’t I see the drop tank choice ?.
  23. Yeah - that's what I'm beginning to learn - that I need to change my vocabulary in order to have clearer communication. I hardly play PvP. PvPvE at best, otherwise PvE and always considered that MP - so I can see that it's going to have benefits moving forward to eliminate MP out of my dictionary, and maybe instead use terms like Solo player, Multicrew Player, PvE Co-Cop player and of course PvP.
  24. Look at it this way, if you set the curve in DCS, the in game stick position and FFB stick position won’t match. Let’s say I fly a helicopter with force trim. I trim left, but becuase I set up a curve in DCS, it thinks after trimming the stick should be closer to center, so my FFB moves away from the spot I trimmed which it shouldn’t do. If you set it up in independent software for the stick it should be fine

It only knows to light up target at 90/50 when the 50/90 antenna is lit ( from the side so needs high signal strength) AND when the rear antenna of that side is lit up by the same signal ( rear antennas also weak.) So, signal only at 50/90 antenna? Only 50 light lights up. Signal only at rear antenna? Only rear light lights up. Same signal hitting both 50/90 antenna and rear antenna on that side? Then light up both 50 and 90 degree lights.
